The catch by Terry Glenn in the fog on the first series changed the history for the Patriots franchise...it was the biggest game for us then...When Glenn caught it early, we knew we could win. RIP
We want to all congratulate the " Chin" one of the most respected, blue collar coaches of our time and Steelers legend of " Cowher Power/Blitzburgh era , Bill Cowher as he on his way to Canton, Ohio to Hall of Fame of 2020. Way long overdue. 😁😁🏈🏈🏈. 3:51 With that look in 1996 after this massacre, 2020 tears of joy of being their in Canton with the football gods like Shula,Noll,Landry,Vince Lombardi etc. It was a pleasure of watching his coaching and teachings of the game, and when he get mad he look you straight in youre eyes , better yet look through your soul ask Rod Woodson and his former players and what he brought to the game was priceless and wore his heart on his sleeve with the press.
1:36 “An innocuous little play…78 yards… ONE IF BY LAND!!! TWO IF BY SEA!!!!!!!!” doubt it would’ve made a significant difference and this is wishful thinking on my part but maybe if parcels wasn’t finalizing his new Ny Jets contract during Superbowl week maybe we could’ve made more game out of it versus green bay. mofo didn’t even fly back to Foxboro on the team plane ffs.
Yeah we got whoop that day Patriot D line owned our offensive line that's how they won the game and of course we didn't have any good quarterback that day
5 postseason games 4 Patriots wins (1996, 2001, 2004 and 2016) 3 of them in AFC Championships (2001, 2004 and 2016) 2 of these in Pittsburgh (2001 and 2004) And only 1 Steelers victory and were only by 1 point difference (6-7). The Patriots owns the Steelers at Playoffs.
Andy Provin I miss those Steelers look and the sleeves are not cut off and I got two Starter old school jerseys of Yancy Thigpen #82 and Byron Bam Morris #33 1995 &1996 and 1995 AFC Central Champs locker room hat by Starter, along with a Collision Cap of 1996 AFC Central Champs locker room hat by Starter. Keep it hip and old school all day. 🏈🏈😊😊😊. What you know about the original Starter of the jerseys ,jackets the gameday pullover of silver and gold in 1996,the Collision ,Shockwave og of NFL Pro Line Authenthic. That my era , espically the Satin Jackets in 1985,1990 . Y'all know what i mean.
It don’t know why they changed the numbers. The packers haven’t changed their number style and the 49ers went back to the 80s number style from the Montana and Jerry rice era. I know Nike probably wanted to sell jerseys and told Dan Rooney how more modern the helmet number font with rounded letters would sell better.
@@BTLAGS I agree the old Steelers numbers look boring and blocky compared to their 1997 numbers change. Even though there is so much history with the pre 1997 numbers lol
@@AQUAPHREESH193 whats funny is Iowa hawkeyes use a similar uniform scheme with the block numbers. I know the last couple years they role out the 70's uniform for throwback games.
The 1st game in divisional round on early Sunday Action with the Steelers and Patriots on NBC in the AFC is : Boston Fog Gundown 😊🏈🏈. Everybody remember in 1988 fog bowl in Chicago with the Eagles. Drew Bledsoe and his Pat Minutemen on a foggy day at Foxboro with the muskets were loaded with the help of Curtis Martin who heading to the Pro Bowl, Terry Glenn, Chris Slade,Ty Law offensively and tough defense gunned down Cowher and the Steelers as Kordell Stewart Slash was Slush completely 0-10 and even with Tomazack thier are laid to rest as it was Rod Woodson made it to the Pro Bowl and last game with the Steelers and lot of other players like Andre Hastings to name a few other people would step up like Bettis,Stewart, Lake,Jason Gildon, and Thigpen in 1997. As for the Patriots the championship game is set as the Jaguars and Patriots is on and the lights go out at Foxboro next week .End of Lesson ( Marv Albert and Sam Wyche Randy Cross ,Beasley Reese on the call on this game 12:30). Note Both the Steelers and Patriots had thier ways with each other over the years in the 80's and early 90's espically at Three Rivers Stadium.
they seem to have something against guys in their own backyard in pitt, the most infamous one being of course marino back in 83', and then martin a decade later

Set them on the path to be SB contenders!
The rookie Terry Glenn
This highlights music absolutely kicks ass. Berman and Jackson are a great pair.
The first of what would become many frustrations against the Patriots for the Steelers.
Yes, but they beat the pats in the divisional round the next year. They actually beat them twice that year.
The Steelers had no answer for those Romeo Crennel defenses. Tomczak, Stewart, and Roethlisberger could never tame them in the playoffs.
1996. Patriots
1997. Steelers twice
1998. Patriots
2001. Patriots
2002. Patriots
2004. Steelers then Patriots
2005. Patriots
2007. Patriots (there’s a theme developing here)
2008. Steelers
2010. Patriots
2011. Steelers
2013. Patriots
2015. Patriots
2016. Patriots twice.
2017. Patriots
2018. Steelers
2019. Patriots
2022. Patriots
2023. Patriots
And 2019 “false start, offense, everyone but the center.”

Believe it or not, this was the first home playoff win in Patriots history!
Yes. Their only playoff wins before then we’re all road wins
At Buffalo 1963
At the Jets, Raiders, and Dolphins 1985

love these Patriots uniforms! Royal blue just works so much better than navy blue IMO
Yes and better than the Sullivans era reds
but doesn't that clash with the history? patriots wearing royal blue, royal as in the royal british army? navy is much more american
Go for the jugular on the first play. I loved this Pats team.
Well I remember this game patriots kicked ass that day
Until the SB, their defense was incredible in the playoffs!
Jerome Bettis our perennial Groin Injury Of The Week winner
that first play, bledsoe to terry glenn, the fog game
Yeah we got whoop that day Patriot D line owned our offensive line that's how they won the game and of course we didn't have any good quarterback that day

Bledsoe best them twice - here and off the bench at Pittsburgh in 2001. Brady then erased the Steelers in 2004 and 2016
Steelers last game in those uniforms

@@robminmonaca They have had success with those numbers I think they look great with the uniform.

this games is played at fogsboro
Fog Bowl II?
Not even close.
Son of Fog Bowl
Steelers could have drafted Curtis Martin (from Pitt) and still traded for Bettis and have a 2 headed monster
they seem to have something against guys in their own backyard in pitt, the most infamous one being of course marino back in 83', and then martin a decade later
I was there.
Fog Bowl II
The Pittsburgh Steelers would not reach the Super Bowl consecutive seasons
Neil should have stayed
