Troy wasn't the kind of QB that could elevate his team. He was a great game manager and generally risk averse, that works great when you have the best team. When you don't, you better win the turnover battle, be money in the redzone and have a stout defense.

Dallas last 6 meaningful regular season games. The defense only gave up 10.8 points per game with opponents including Green Bay, San Francisco and New England. If we had any sembelance of our 92-95 offensive production we would have won another SB most likely.
This loss hurt we played all year without Novacek. Haley pretty much missed the entire season as well. Then Lett gets suspended late in the season during arguably the best season of his career. Brock Marion went on IR midway through the season. Randall Godfrey got hurt in the first playoff game and most importantly Irvin was hurt durng the first offensive drive. Irvin was our most important offensive player that year by far.

Atrocity of off field problems since 1994 .........carried over to 1997. But they didnt get charged as Jerry Jones payoff a " Go Away Bitch " fee. True Facts Jill, if you remember and the end of the Switzer era in 1997, on which started in pre-season with the Cowboys and Rams game where Aikman was yelling after being sacked many times. The 9th and final victim to be murdered at Crystal Lake aka Erriscon Stadium in Charlotte in the late game in divisional round on FOX with the Cowboys and Carolina Panthers in the " How The West Was Won " Tour is : The Dynasty Is Dead ,R.I.P . Boys 😊😊🐅🏈🏈. Earlier in the week,Michael Irvin and Erik Williams were charged with sexual assault on a woman and was in the media, ( no social media, thank God ) but off field problems since Jimmy Johnson left into Switzer shooting off at the mouth disrespecting Carolina didnt know where Charlotte was, well after this he knew where North Carolina was and another historic playoffs upset the Cowboys lose Irvin and left, Aikman who heading to the Pro bowl felt the wrath of the merceliss Carolina defense, and murderered Deion Sanders and he left, Kevin Greene, Sam Mills,Lamar Lathon, Chad Cota on their way to the Pro bowl also along with Kerry Collins made a tombstone as they are undefeated at home 9-0 as not only the Cowboys arent the champs no more, The Cowboys dynasty falls completely as in 1997 season after the ass kicking on opening day in August against the Steelers, well all hell brakes loose and Michael Irvin sheds tears in the finale, the dynasty and good times are over. As for Carolina they punch thier ticket to there 1st Championship game against the Packers, but Caroilina with all the talent the sucess with Capers didnt last as with Jacksonville their was on the rise completely with unused talent into stars of Brunell, McCardell and Smith, Tony Boselli later Fred Taylor etc. End of Lesson ( Pat Summerall and John Madden ,Curt Menfee on the call on this game 4:00) 😁 Note : This was the last Chris Berman Primetime, he had surgery and Dan Patrick did Primetime Championship Sunday, he would return to Week 1 on August 31st NFL Primetime. At the end Summerall stated that he was so realised that the season was over. You think lol.
