Dude, you’re one of the best channels for character modelling out there. Every time I watch your tutorials I pick up something interesting, even though I already work in the industry
Hey Dikko. It's awesome to see you're doing more tutorials again! Back three years ago your modelling for animation series built the very foundation of my 3D career, back when I barely knew what I was doing, and many of your teachings I still hold to my core 3D fundamentals to this very day! 3 years later, I am making a living off of 3D freelancing, and seeing that you made this video brought a big smile to my face. I've recommended your modelling for animation series to countless people, as it helped me so much in the very beginning by not only showing me what to do, but teaching me why one would do it that way and showing possible pitfalls one might fall into that could negatively impact a model later down the line. Thank you so much for making another series! I'll be sure to give this one a watch, even after all the skill I've gained, I'm sure there is some stuff you have to teach that I never would of considered!
Lots of great tips here! I especially like how you used the 3D cursor as a pivot point to double check the arm length and proportions. Thanks for sharing!!
Just sub'd! Love the way you work and explain your process. Just caught up to the end of this video in my own project and can't wait for the next part in the series. Seriously good job!
Hey! Thank you for this tutorial. Been wanting to get back into character modeling after many, MANY years and this tutorial has been helping me get back into the groove. What are the specs on your Mac if you don’t mind? Windows irritates me so much…
your character sheet is somewhat similar to how my character looks like (specially the hair) so you bet i will copy the whole process and then once it's finished i'll change some parts of the body to fit the actual look of my character (since she isn't a human)
Thanks for this amazing tutorial. One question, when you start new characters you start from a base model and start modifying it or you start from scratch every time?
I have a habit of starting from scratch because I enjoy the process. If i was getting paid to do this kind of work full time, I'd likely start from some sort of template
Rounded cubes are so overlooked. If I remember correctly, didn't Curtis Holt change his default startup to use a rounded cube instead of the default cube?
i did first to practice and had no issues but second time i was doing practice and some of my mesh (head and chest area) isn't working in sculpt mode they are fine in edit and object mode but in sculpt mode they go dark and i cant do any sculpting ?? what do i do ??
I think it's really cool the character reference has the body as well as the clothes, but I found it a little... you didn't follow one or the other and kept arbitrarily switching 🫠
The nature of working according to how the proportions look in 3D. You’ll probably see me sculpt a little closer to the outline of the body in the next vid. Like I said in this video, it’s okay to play it loose at this stage

Goat of polygon modeling hope you continue regular upload videos❤
Will there be a new rig tutorial in this case? If so, it would be cool to see more of the bendy bones type rig in it.
