I bought Roadster 197 used. I asked Peter for advice, He asked for the log and told me how to get it. I sent it to him and after he reviewed the data, he saw no issues. Charge for this service: Zero. Love the car, gets lots of attention. This guy is a rock star!
This channels a fantastic technical resource to understand the limitations of the initial Tesla solutions. I'm a Tesla fanatic but it's important to see the real engineering challenges that the older models encounter! Thank you
As always this is top notch videography coupled with a very informative narrative. Real nice. The comment you made regarding the Roadster being the icon that started the disruption in the automotive industry and marked the beginning of the end for ICE vehicles is spot on.
“And we’ll do it again and again!”
I think both owners and Tesla need to ensure the cars will last as long as possible. Batteries or PEM should not be the reason the car is scrapped. 30k was at cost so Tesla didn't lose any money on those. They could keep doing that and people will pay. I think the first EV of the 21 century deserves staying alive for a long while. You can buy Porsche 356 from the 1950s and still be able to fix them today, so it should be the case with the Roadster as well...
Great video discussing the economics behind the Roadster. Locally we have seen a steady rise in prices since 2018. (Norway). And strangely enough I have not seen any "bricked" Roadsters for sale here. I'm long in TSLA since 2014. I'm also certain Tesla is working on a replacement battery using some of the new technology. Thanks for the excellent video.
I don’t feel like they get enough credit, Elon is a man before his time, just in time. I love Tesla Motors... in fact it’s the next car I’m going to buy. 🤞. All in time. It helped give me vision and and the urge to succeed. Of course it falls on me as well. So much respect for the EV future. I love your show, Your amazing as well. I wish you & your crew the best. Thank you.🙂
Well that was a terrific video full of interesting information on the roadster.
Congrats!
Once Tesla designs the cars so they can swap out the main batteries like we change tires, that would dramatically change the industry. The battery is what most non owners ask about first and worry about the most.
Great narration, great video.
This story is playing out way better than GM and the EV1.
Well done.
Appreciate you old man. Thanks for the vid.
And that becomes the question ... “are you going to enjoy watching the numbers in your bank statement as much as you enjoy owning your roadster?”
That will depend on the state of health of both the Roadster and economy.
👍Thanks great video
Mr. Gruber you forgot the fact that the roadster is the first EV in the world to be launched into Space for trillions of years. It’s the first automobile to be launched into space Elon musks firsts I think this one was the best first. I know the roadster that went into space was stripped down to bare bones battery was taken out any heavy electronics were taken out the air was taken out of all the tires and The tires were filled with a light foam to keep shape. Because if they were launched into space with Air in them they would’ve exploded in the vacuum of space.😀
Well done
I’m trying to hear if model s’s have capacitors that have limited lifespans like the roadster. Did mr Gruber allude to that.?
Hes the GOAT
If you have an insurance company, how can you say that, because burning a few warehouses full increases premiums ?
Interesting , good video .
All facts
What color is that blue?! Beautiful
Are old Model S repairable, and new model 3 not?
They both are.
Excellent video! Tesla should reintroduce the original roadster as an alternative to the new version. The new one is too big and heavy. Upgrade the electronics and get the weight down on the original design and they'll have another winner.
Hte base for accelerating transition for EV has its base on market opportunity to sell EV.OMG what a crap indeed. So is all about the money, it's a shame that Tesla visionary name is on this ev car company, seriously.Something fundamantal is not right between this philosophies.
"Appetite for risk" Yeah, pretty easy to take risks as a trust fund baby.
Don’t the batteries have a life of 8-10 years even if rarely used?
It would be like buying a car knowing you’ll have to change the engine. EXPENSIVE
Roadsters are now 14 years old. Most have well funtioning battery packs so far. This has been explained in many of their videos. The warranty was 8 year 100k miles.
Nothing special about a tesla roadster. Car has outdated tech, no support.
Name one collectable with up to date tech an support?
