My mate lived in Aus for around a year. He spent most of his time living in a house by Bondi Beach, Sydney. One day when he was having a shit in the Sydney house, he could hear something inside the toilet, and it turned out to be one of Australia's most deadly spiders.
@@danielgardecki1046 It was probably a redback. They can be deadly but only to young children and frail elderly people. Majority of people bitten by a redback survive with immediate medical intervention and suffer no ill effects afterwards. Australia isn't as bad as people say it is, i've been living here for 35 years of my life and my parents have been here for 46 years and we havn't had any issues with the "deadly creatures out to get us".

Ben Chesterman ...you do not need to convert the car to RHD. Depends on the state you’re moving to...Car is considered a personal import so the criteria is different. The car just needs to meet ADR regs specific to its year of manufacture and be roadworthy. Change the headlamps and the speedometer to km/h from MPH and that’s about it. Always advisable to check local regs and import criteria first. Authorities here will generally need you to have owned the car for over a year at least. I used to deal with cars in from the UK, so we did a bit of this stuff.
So, dealing with magpies goes like this. Don't be shy! They register confidence and anxiety. Unless a magpie is viciously attacking you they can usually be repelled if you wave a stick and yell. Some of them even divert their flight pattern if you make eye contact with them fast enough. The same magpies nest in the same places are rarely ever find new trees to nest in if they are really satisfied. Took me years of having my scalp under threat to find these things out
The inspiration of the Sydney Opera House sails came from the sailing boats on Sydney Harbour. The Orange thing came up when the engineers found that the sails could be formed up by using circular shapes.
Nothing scary here at all. You should come visit for sure!! I live in Canberra, the capital of Australia. I can show you around my part no problems at all👍🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺
While it may sow sometimes, it's rare. We have 7 months of warm to hot weather per year except Tasmania. Tassie doesn't really have summer, they have summer days but compared to the rest of Australia it's not really hot enough to be called summer. The days can range between 24 & 44 degrees & when it gets that hot it's like being in an oven. Winters are really mild here.
Melbourne/Sydney/Adelaide temp in Spring/Fall is around 60-75 degrees F, Summer is 85-105, Winter is 45-60. Perth is warm/hot most the time, Brisbane has good weather until there wet season, Darwin is humid and Tassie is cold.
Hi guys I just subscribed, proud Aussie & loved this vid. Your guys reaction is honest & does Australia justice in its uniqueness. The surprise of scale you guys show is priceless! Keep up the good content, you guys are easy to look at & a great combo.
I’m from Australia and a fact I only found out recently is that there is approximately 750,000 wild camels roaming the outback WTF hahahaha not sure if it’s mentioned in this video though but I thought it was hilarious
I call bullshit on that fact lol. I spent around 3 to 4 weeks in the WA goldfields with the impression i would see a camel but a few days in i was out with a my detector in a remote area heavy with tree's and shrubs and you know that part in a horror movie when shit goes bad...... it was almost like that when i realised i hadn't seen a single living creature and even more daunting, not a single bird noise...... it was like i was alone in the world and was enough to make me pack up and move onto another spot. In my honest opinion i feel they are over poisoning for wild dogs and killing other wildlife as when i crossed the WA boarder and they inspected the vehicle for fruit and veg they mentioned to keep and eye on my dog and watch out for them licking their paws as they air drop bait to kill wild dogs and wash the dogs feet each day. Also along the Nullarbor i saw countless dead kangaroo's and almost none alive and 90% looked like they where not hit by a car and just dropped dead or more likely shot by people just driving or could they be baiting the road so when it rains and they come to drink from the road puddles........... ok, time to take my tin foil hat off lol :)
I know a young lady from Minnesota who married and Australian and now lives here. Despite our well known "dangerous" wildlife it is rare to see any of it at all. And we have antivenoms for most venomous creatures, which is why very, very, few people ever have unfortunate meetings with our dangerous wildlife. Fact is, most animal related fatalities in Australia are due to interactions with horses! The horses are not dangerous themselves but the are big and people fall and get injured. In terms of fatalities due to wildlife per 100 people Australia has a lower rate than the USA. So come and feel safe.
Ashtyn, I'm Australian,...yes Kangaroos have tiny babies, when they are born the crawl up the fur to the pouch and latch on to the teats inside the pouch...Koalas are not that friendly and many, if not all have a form of Chlamydia... we drive on the Left side of the road and our cars are right hand drive, we have 6 states, Queensland ( where I live) New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania ,.. and 2 territories, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory ( where our parliament is)...Australia can be very dangerous if traveling alone, especially out west where there is scarce water ( a large portion of the country is basically desert ) this is why 90% of the population is within a few hundred km / miles from the coastline. In fact Queensland has many contrasts from rain forests in the north, barrier reef to the east, desert/ outback to the west and places like the gold coast in the south, with beaches all up and down the coast...we range from bushfires to floods, cyclones and droughts and can have all of these at the same time in different places, it is over 2600km from one end to the other or about 29 hours of driving from top to bottom, and that is just our state ( roads are fairly crappy ) ...feel free to visit, but be prepared to have some time up your sleeves you will need heaps of it if you want to try and cover the lot.. :)
There is a suburb called Batman in Melbourne. Melbourne Florida was named after Melbourne Australia- the postmaster lived here for several years. Melbourne is freezing in winter ,it's been known to snow.
I've lived here my whole life and I've seen about 20 snakes in the wild and only 4 were venomous. Most spiders are not deadly. Crocs are only in the far north. The U.S. has grizzly bears, rattle snakes, Bob cats, mountain lions and rabies etc... Most of those weird laws inc the potato ones are not enforced.
if you do come to Australia, make a note to visit Kangaroo Island during our summer period (December-February), some beautiful beaches are here. the wildlife park is amazing, also you can go swimming with dolphins.
But we all know that to keep them away, you spray a half and half mix of water and male urine, spray the back of your neck, the pheromones keep the drop bears away. standard knowledge to Australians
australia also invented the variable ratio diff, the refridgerator, the rotary clothesline and mower, the first digital computer, wi-fi, the first guided missile which was a torpedo, the orbital engine, stump jump plough, ugg boots, and so much more...here where i live in tasmania, we see penguins all the time, whales and orca's, we also have the giant freshwater crayfish which is the only place in the world where they live, massive giant kelp forests and again, so much more
We have more _area_ of alpine regions than the Swiss Alps. So if you collected it _all_ it would be more. Geddit? Yeah, I know. Cheap technicality tricks...
I’m a keen skier in Australia and I think that is a frequently quoted urban myth. Our ski season is very short...three months because our “mountains” ...hills really, are too low.
@@vickersonp You don't geddit. Our alpine areas are many times bigger than the entire country of Switzerland. So if you rolled up all the snow that fell on the Swiss Alps in a year into a big snowball, and then did the same with ALL THE SNOW THAT FALLS PER YEAR in Australia, Australia has the biggest one. Ours also melts the fastest, so we'd win that dick competition, too.
One thing they missed was the Nullarbor Plain, and the trans-Australian railway that crosses it, having the longest straight stretch of single rail in the world (478km or 297 mi). Also, Perth, WA is the worlds most isolated capital city. Australia is currently one of the 7 counties where Airsoft is Illegal, with the others being North Korea, Yemen, Syria, Honduras, Singapore, and Turkmenistan.
It’s funny cause very recently I found out my 2x great grandfather is Australian...so shoutout to the Aussies watching this video...you’ve got a long distance cousin in America!! 🇦🇺
About the big ducks... Dromornithidae, also commonly referred to as mihirungs, thunder birds or demon ducks, were a clade of large, flightless Australian birds of the Oligocene through Pleistocene epochs. All are now long extinct. They aren’t exactly ducks, maybe somehow similar. Basically just huge ancient birds
I'm currently being bullied by the local koala bear colony. It's all fun and games until one of them has a blade to your neck and his buddy is violating your cat
Ashtyn, it's warm/cool here in winter, but can get scorching hot in Summer. Be careful what you wish for. But YES Australia is an awesome place to live! Come on over and we'll chuck another PRAWN on the barbie :P
Born and raised in Australia, lived there for 40 years and never seen a snake, moved to st.louis Missouri, been here for just over 2 years, seen 4 snakes.
When talking about dangerous animal and such, just remember that kids survive quite okay in the Australian environment. It's not a factor when living here. I've lived in LA and Toronto and was a native of South Africa and hands down the greatest place I've ever been to and love coming home to is Australia.
I'm from Melbourne in Victoria, if you want warm temperatures year round go to the Gold Coast, which is in Queensland, if you want weather that changes all the time, come to Melbourne, I can only remember it snowing once here, back in 1985, we get all seasons, sometimes 4 seasons in one day, don't go to Canberra, it's a shithole, it's full of Politicians and, well Politicians, you'll love it here, great surf too!!
One interesting fact is that the Parliment House in Canberra was actually designed to fit in with the land model so about 72% of it is in the land and I'm a 13 year old who lives in Australia and it's not expensive at all
At the moment the worst thing about Australia is the weather, Bushfires caused by the hottest summers on record many years in a row and we also get some pretty nasty floods in places like Queensland.
You know we drive on the left side of the road & we go by km not miles, so you be better off selling your cars. You canship your stuff over by shipping containers. My sister did it when moving back home from Dubai.
If you moved to Aus you will make friends as soon as you land and they often times will turn into close friends /family. As long as you know someone with experience don't be affraid. As for wildlife just be vigilant, don't be so carefree and you will be fine.
University of Newcastle often sends warnings via emails about snake sightings either at the main campus in Callaghan or at Ourimbah (Central Coast Campus). I had never seen one but heard them moving through the undergrowth as I walked along paths.
That’s pretty cool whenever I drove into Melbourne I’d always come across the street sign Batman Ave never knew it was the guy who founded the place though
Ahhh us Native Australians, didn't mention native people of Australia and we speak our native language more than 100 languages. Back then Australia wasn't an multi cultural country.

Little known fact, when an Aussie gets circumcised, they use the removed skin to make fan belts for Mack Trucks..true story mate

oh this is gold

So, dealing with magpies goes like this. Don't be shy! They register confidence and anxiety. Unless a magpie is viciously attacking you they can usually be repelled if you wave a stick and yell. Some of them even divert their flight pattern if you make eye contact with them fast enough. The same magpies nest in the same places are rarely ever find new trees to nest in if they are really satisfied. Took me years of having my scalp under threat to find these things out
Bears? In england we get pigeons that steal our chips
Wait till you experience our bin chickens
Kookaburras here. They will snatch food right from your hand. Made me bleed more than once those fellas.
In Australia, our chips are stolen by seagulls.

Awesome reaction guys, loved it!! Make the move here girl lol :D
You've got no idea how oppressive the heat is for non-Australia when you move here. It's so damn humid.
Swingsloth ....you wouldn’t say that living in Hobart....
@@OrnumCR true enough. But I'll take cold over hot any day.
Plus the standard 4 weeks of annual leave per year if you work full time, I think the US might be a lot less than that
Hi guys I just subscribed, proud Aussie & loved this vid.
I read on a tally-ho pack that we also invented the goon bag. I stand proud
Imagine the size of the feed you'll get from that massive duck
Its the drop bears you have to worried about in australia.. I have them everywhere around here
But they don't attack anyone with Australian accent.
@@1969firefox ive seen a couple bud when they get on the vb
But we all know that to keep them away, you spray a half and half mix of water and male urine, spray the back of your neck, the pheromones keep the drop bears away. standard knowledge to Australians
Not to mention the 'contours'...they run around every hill you can find...they can be dangerous when out walking.
MrPCPerformance . Come on tell him the truth. They are a figment in the imagination of the creators of the advertisement for Bundaberg Rum.
australia also invented the variable ratio diff, the refridgerator, the rotary clothesline and mower, the first digital computer, wi-fi, the first guided missile which was a torpedo, the orbital engine, stump jump plough, ugg boots, and so much more...here where i live in tasmania, we see penguins all the time, whales and orca's, we also have the giant freshwater crayfish which is the only place in the world where they live, massive giant kelp forests and again, so much more
Not in a million years do we get more snow than the Swiss alps
10:46 ive actually been motorbike riding up at Mt Dissapointment. also nearly ran out of fuel while up there haha
They say they want sun and warmth but when in summer it 48 degrees Celsius which I think is around 120 degrees Fahrenheit
I live in Australia Q.L.D
Rashan Behan struth ya filthy cat
It’s funny cause very recently I found out my 2x great grandfather is Australian...so shoutout to the Aussies watching this video...you’ve got a long distance cousin in America!! 🇦🇺
To call yourself a true aussie and count yourself among us you must drink an entire tin of milo
E M U , there is no moo
About the big ducks... Dromornithidae, also commonly referred to as mihirungs, thunder birds or demon ducks, were a clade of large, flightless Australian birds of the Oligocene through Pleistocene epochs. All are now long extinct. They aren’t exactly ducks, maybe somehow similar. Basically just huge ancient birds
Their isn’t anything to be scared of in australia
Sienna Camp except magpies
KillerDonutsFromOuterSpace...90 haha of course
I'm currently being bullied by the local koala bear colony. It's all fun and games until one of them has a blade to your neck and his buddy is violating your cat
It's not that great here anymore guys, stay where you are.
LOL !!!
Ashtyn, it's warm/cool here in winter, but can get scorching hot in Summer. Be careful what you wish for. But YES Australia is an awesome place to live! Come on over and we'll chuck another PRAWN on the barbie :P
Wait, you call it a paste? Do you call peanut butter a paste? You've tried the stuff ffs...
It's a SPREAD.
The greatest Australian movie of all time: The Emu War. Basically Kangaroo Jack & Red Dog mashed together.
Queensland is the best state
Born and raised in Australia, lived there for 40 years and never seen a snake, moved to st.louis Missouri, been here for just over 2 years, seen 4 snakes.
“Koalas are so cute”
They would literally rip your throat out if they get the chance 😂
One interesting fact is that the Parliment House in Canberra was actually designed to fit in with the land model so about 72% of it is in the land and I'm a 13 year old who lives in Australia and it's not expensive at all
Australia is the best place to live. It’s warm. The beaches are great. Standard of living is high. Winter is 50f. Come to Sydney. It’s the best!!!
Guys ashtyn is right it's mi lo no meee lo. And the animals are fine. You d love to live here.
Number 51: We don't put shrimp on the barbie, we put steak on the barbie.
12:05 I think the narration was meant to be "Australia is a MULTICULTURAL country" rather than "Australia is a Multinational country".
Man this makes me proud as to be an Aussie!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At the moment the worst thing about Australia is the weather, Bushfires caused by the hottest summers on record many years in a row and we also get some pretty nasty floods in places like Queensland.
More than 110lb of potatoes is chargeable as “Deem Supply”😂
Very cool you guys are interested in Australia. Great show +1 and subscribed. Mitch from Australia.
You know we drive on the left side of the road & we go by km not miles, so you be better off selling your cars. You canship your stuff over by shipping containers. My sister did it when moving back home from Dubai.
One really brilliant things for US folk coming to Aust, is the exchange rate. As I write, US$1 is worth AU$1.47. And we don't have emoooos.
The potato rule is there because in Australia you can't access pure alcohol. Large amounts of potatoes is commonly used for moonshiners.
Perth (where Im from) is apparently the windiest city in the world. 2nd is Chicago, from memory.
If you moved to Aus you will make friends as soon as you land and they often times will turn into close friends /family. As long as you know someone with experience don't be affraid. As for wildlife just be vigilant, don't be so carefree and you will be fine.
Sitting in air conditioning in Queensland Australia. Currently 95 degrees F (35c). Merry Xmas.
I'm Aussie and I've NEVER EVER heard of HALF of these lol, that potato law WTH??? 😳 Naaaaaa I'm looking that up 😂
They literally used to put a notice in my school newsletter about Brown snakes chilling on footpaths we would walk over as kids. Not that scary :)
The whole potato law in WA, I think is because you can use the peelings too make your own vodka..
Ahhh us Native Australians, didn't mention native people of Australia and we speak our native language more than 100 languages. Back then Australia wasn't an multi cultural country.
Us Aussies would welcome you with open arms.
Cold winters, not freezing, hot summers.
A land of extreme diversity, amazing scenery.
We drive on the left hand side of the road.
Oh, you would need to pick an AFL team! :)
Ashtyn got me blushing talking about Australia like that 😊
