      I would love to to see Honda make a CBR750R with a twin, I think it makes more useable power and torque for the street and around town riding. As you already mentioned in the video, it would be lighter and if it is based loosely on the hornet platform would have much more tech and be more affordable too. I do not see much of a downside. If they offered some kind of a sport touring version/package that would be even better, maybe we could get real crazy and even throw some VFR badges on it...

    • @AdeptusAmogus
      @AdeptusAmogus 8 месяцев назад +7

      The only twins that sound good are V-Twins like on the Panigale V2, and 270 degree parallel twins like on the 450SS and R7, because they mimic the V-Twin burble. All these 180 parallel twins like the Ninja 400/650, R3, and CBR300R/500R sound awful, and an aftermarket exhaust barely helps. Single cylinder bikes like CF's 300SS/NK, KTM's 390's and Husq's 401's sound even worse stock.

      there's a reason why they are dying. Have you ridden the cbr650r? it's very underwhelming for a 4cyl.. even the frame is made of steel. it's a budget bike and honda didn't want to spend any money on R&D to create a lighter/more powerful engine with less cyl. it would've made an amazing bike a decade ago. that being said, I still think it's a great beginner bike. also, life is just too short to ride boring honda bikes! (they don't make em like the old hondas anymore!)

      @EmotionalStreetTriple it's a good way to get your feet wet with a 4 cylinder. The 600rr was getting a little nutty. The 650r has the potential to be comfortable like the old 4 cylinder Hondas from 20 years ago. They were awesome do it all bikes.
      That said, I'm curious if you have any alternatives? I'm considering buying one but if there's something out there that's a little more fun I'd love to look into it

    This is all the sport bike you need or want. I have one and I also have a 2009 GSX-R750. I ride the CBR and leave the gixxer in the garage. It's more enjoyable to rev a lesser powered engine high and use all of the power available than to just ride an overpowered bike at 50-75% of its capabilities. It's more comfortable too.

      You hit the nail on the head, it may not "win" in some aspects when it comes to spec-sheet shoppers but as an all-round sport bike for those that don't want a full-out supersport bike - this thing has a LOT going for it. Could they stand to throw some improvements at it? 100%! As like you mentioned, adjustable forks and a larger TFT display would be awesome but they're not deal breakers for a lot of people and for those that don't mind it the way it is, would only end up having to pay a higher price tag for those upgrades, when they didn't care about them to start with. It's a slippery slope though.
      I'm right there with you bud, there is NOTHING that beats the sound of an inline-four! I've harped about them disappearing in past videos (like this one ruclips.net/video/aiwugX19FLo/видео.html ) so I'll save you from having to read a novel about my thoughts on it all lol as we're on the same page. I don't mind a twin, just like I don't mind electric - I just don't want to see our four bangers and ICE toys in general start to disappear faster than they already are, leaving us with no real options at the end of the day. Not much longer and we won't have such different engine configurations from all of the manufacturers and it's going to be, do you want a twin or do you want electric and that's it lol! It's going to be interesting to see how all of this pans out though...
      Appreciate ya watching and sharing your thoughts too as a CBR650R! Ride safe out there and enjoy that thing ;)

      @@HondaProKevin yes! nowadays if you want a i4 bike below 1000cc your only option is either honda or Kawasaki as both the only major manufacturer that still bother to produce i4 engine for bike that below 1000cc, nowadays if you get bike that's below 1000cc your choice is a twin (literally every other manufacturers), or single ( SMC, svart/vit) or in rare case triple (triumph and suzuki). your choice for i4 literally only 3 that is CB/R650R, ZX6R, or ZX4R 2 already came from same manufacturer and if you came from Asia you also have choice for ZX25R, if Honda remove 650R line and Kawasaki will hold the entire market segment for i4 bike below 1000cc, is it small market? yes it is, but more options is always good for customers as honda the only one that offer i4 in naked bike form, if 650 disappear that mean our choice for i4 bike below 1000cc will only be sports bike

    The GSR750 makes 150. The 650 is a street based gentle and heavy sport tourer, the GSXR750 is a brutally capable street and track weapon, radared at 183mph.
    If they go for it, they've got the work more than cut out for them lol. The Hornet is also a mess, and the GSX 8S has a wider rear tire, better frame and quick shifter included.
    Either way, Honda is getting a bit confused as of late. They aren't making things to the same level of expectations they used too.

    • @HondaProKevin
      @HondaProKevin  Год назад +1

      Yessir, to say they've got their work cut out for them is a massive understatement lol! The entire middleweight segment for both sport / naked sport bikes has been heating up with the supersport segment pretty much dying off and it's left us with some pretty interesting and odd comparisons between segments from all of the manufacturers.
      And as much as I hate to admit to it, Honda is playing catch up in some aspects and they aren't doing the best job at it. Some of the decisions being made leave me scratching my head but I'd love to be a fly on the wall to see why some things are being done this way, versus another and the thought process behind it all. It'd have to be super interesting to sit in on some of those "big wig" meetings...
      Speaking of the GSX-8S, that's one I really want to ride this year! At first the styling was a major turn off for me when looking at the release pictures etc but after seeing more and more videos of that thing, it's really grown on me and most reviewers that I've seen are really digging the package so it looks like Suzuki has nailed it on that one. Looking forward to ripping one soon though.
