This whole concert is a master class for a rousing live concert! I sure hope I never get on Saiki's bad side, she is ruthless in her message! The back and forth between MISA and Kanami is one for the ages, so fantastic!
The Maids are absolutely the best band on the planet. It is almost impossible to find a bad song. You won't find anyone that can outplay the Maids live.
Great to see you enjoying the Maids! Try the "Manners/Blackhole (official live mv)" combo to hear more of the prominent lead bass! The bluesy hard rock and the Chaos!
I saw them live last summer in Salt Lake City of all places. WOW! Are they incredible live. To be there was just insane. They are really this good live. They give you 100% live and when the 3 hours are done, you are like wasted as in just having partook of some major good stuff (if you catch my drift). Great reaction BTW! I like that you didn't break in constantly, and you listened earnestly to what was going on, and if needed you took it back a nice distance to set the music and mood again. Again, just a great reaction Jess! I hope you do some more Band Maid and I have subscribed as I anticipate your future experiences with this incredible band of women!
BAND-MAID are famous for their Guitar vs Bass Call & Response "Battles". You can see another in 'Don't You Tell Me', but that's not even the best LIVE version of it. A lot of Classic BAND-MAID was taken off RUclips ahead of a DVD release and can only be found there or on the Chinese site, Bilibili.
Band Maid has some wild, unexpected, even quirky blends of genres. It’s always energetic and fun. Not only bass stands out, but each member, contributing at atmospheric levels. Many people say they have to listen to Band Maid songs at least five times, one for each musician, to grasp what they do. “No god” is one of the quirky ones. Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades” and, I have no idea 🤷🏻 90’s arena pop? Best served as the official live video Tokyo Garden Okiyuji (not the “online okiyuji) MISA has another bass solo here. But, it’s their instrumental songs that hooked me. “From Now On,” OMV. No subtitles to worry about. If you ever think they aren’t serious musicians who are serious about their work? Their instrumental only compositions should put that to rest Welcome to the fandom!
Hate? I kind of like a Maidiac's baptism of fire, Brother Jess!! BAND-MAID does have one song that often gets compared to Motorhead. It also includes a bass solo and is called No God. There is a somewhat recent live vid of it that is AWESOME!! Thanks again for another great reaction! 🤘🤩🤘
Band-Maid is very talented and considered one of the best hard rock bands in the world ! As you see these ladies shine when performing live . Please check out "PLAY" Official Live or "Real Existence" Official Live Thanks Jess btw Spin Doctors bass players Carl Carter till 1999 and Mark White now! I think their still together=)
Since you mentioned Incubus' bass player: Incubus' guitarist, Mike Einziger, co-wrote Band Maid's most recent single, "Bestie", and Band Maid opened (by invitation) for Incubus at their recent Tokyo concert. (Just over a year ago, they opened [per invitation] for Guns and Roses at their Tokyo show).
Thanks for the reaction and comments. Hate? is the ultimate GO F*OFF song. These ladies are FIRE!!!!! They are arguably the best live rock band on the planet. All masters of their instruments, I suggest you check out From Now On(MV) to get a real sense of just how good they are as instrumentalists. Other live videos to check out are Play!, Moratorium, Real Existence, No God, Puzzle...the list goes on and on. Haha! Looking forward to your next reaction vid. Cheers!
I love the Motorhead reference! These ladies play hard rock, groove rock, pop punk, near metal, prog. But I also have described some of their songs to my friends as kind of like Motorhead - straight ahead, foot to the floor, everyone knows where this is going - so get on board or get run over.
For a couple more, go for Don't You Tell Me official live from this same show, and also from this show Endless Story, which was the last of 33 songs in this 3 hour 15 minute show to commemorate their 10th anniversary together. No warm-up band. Keep the subs on for Endless Story, they slow it down a bit and it's pretty emotional for them and those of us that have been long time maidiacs.
Regarding your comment about the bass; "F********k guys, WTF?" Nailed it! 😂MISA is a total bad ass. All these ladies are. NOW you have really met The Maids. Anything you choose will be awesome, but I'll toss in the song "From Now On". Thanks Jess! 🕊
Band-Maid is the best band in the world. I am 55 and have been to Pink Floyd live so I don't say that lightly. My playlist is about 90% Japanese bands. I've got a list of bands a mile long from Japan but some that I have listened to the most are Bridear, WagakkiBand, Nemophila, TRiDENT, Asterism, Glim Spanky, Gacharic Spin, and Unlucky Morpheus. Rolling Quartz from Korea and The Warning from Mexico are also very good.
Pause whenever you want. This is your reaction channel, we've heard this song a thousand times. You back up a bit, you don't do it in the middle of a solo, you're fine for 98% of viewers. (ignore the other 2%, they're probably serial killers in their spare time) As far as where to go to next, that's a good question. I think my suggestion for just a great song to listen to is Warning (Music Video). Do you have a preference for style? We could recommend ballads, acoustics, harder, poppier, groovier, more chaotic, instrumental, etc. They have a lot of range, and it's fun to bounce around a bit. If you want another random awesome Japanese band to check out, I really like Hanabie as well right now, they're crazy. I think "Tousou" is a fun intro to them, though everyone recommends "We love sweets"
Thank you for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the universe. Saw them live last year twice on their US tour. The smaller US concerts are special. More personal. The big festival shows like Lallapaloosa , Aftershock, and Rockville are great too. But nothing beats their smaller shows where they try their best in their broken English to interact with the crowd.
Great reaction. I like the first amused expression at second versus when Saiki says the "10 minutes of .... gymnastics" line 😂 And then the second Bass line by MISA, MISA, MISA, during the "conversation" of guitars. If you like the Bass, you found the right band! They short feature everyone from time to time. And MISA has many short solos. To be honest, MISA and Kanami are pretty much playing "lead guitar and bass" and are noodling like they were playing solos in the layers of almost every song. As to live concerts...the best ever. I flew to Japan for this show...and the spin off 10th Anniversary show 2 months later, which included songs they couldn't fit into their, 33 song, 3hr 40min 10th Anniversary finale at Yokohama Arena. The spin off show at Zepp Yokohama had a setlist of 23 songs, in which the first, one of the middle "break" songs, and the final song were the only songs which were in both shows. If you ever have an opportunity, go and see them...even if you have to do a little road trip...Just DO IT! You won't regret it. Their 2 and 3 MC's are pretty darn entertaining. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
I think you are the second reactor I have heard compare the Ladies to Motorhead. I think MISA's bass does have some of Lemmy's bass tone, which may lead to that inspiration. And pause when you need to, otherwise you may lose your train of thought. Just back it up like you did and most of us will have no complaints.
Try No God live, I think you may get even more Motorhead vibes. Rage Against The Machine is another band that some people get vibes of. Oh and they recently played a show with Incubus as you mentioned their bassist, they are mates. Mike Einziger co-wrote their newest song 'Bestie' and joined them on stage for that song and rocked with Kanami.
I’m a very big fan of Band Maid. Pause whenever you want. Listen sometime to the song Real Me by The Who. The base is the lead guitar. Liked the reaction … subbed.
Never a bad time to pause B-M for me. Just means we get to go back a hear a bit more. And yeah, this band has a lead bassist as well as a lead guitarist. 5 great musicians exceeding themselves at every opportunity.
Coming to America is the other top band from Japan all female with a Duo Guitar combo of (M&M) Midori and Miyako a beast of a drummer Haruna who pounds the drums like they stole her boyfriend and she want's him back Asami started singing R&B before learning power metal they have had 2 bassists Founder Miho who's Idol was Steve Harris of Iron Maiden she left in August of 2021 after ride for vengeance tour. Lovebites went on Hiatus for a year and returned to audition bassists where they chose current bassist and bassist on their 4th album Judgement Day. After I saw Lovebites Shadowmaker MV I was hooked ruclips.net/video/Brmoln5Gxus/видео.html so far Lovebites is sold out at Prog Power in Atlanta and they will also be in Dallas,Los Angeles, and San Francisco in September they will blow your mind with their skill precision and speed
More a "conversation" between Misa and Kanami, where they take the lead over Akane. Also, note MISA's fingering when she's playing - she uses the pick, but also plucks and strums with the other fingers. There are probably other bass players who use a similar technique, but she's the only one I'm aware of. Apparently, in a poll of those in the industry, she was one of the top five, globally, and top of the female bass players! Similar strory for Kanami and Okane - Miku "only" tarted after the band formed, but she's also getting there!
After just over fifty years, The Doors were dethroned as my favorite band by Band Maid. Lemmy and Motorhead are icons the equal (at the very least) of any in rock history. Anyone who doesn't enjoy Band Maid and Motorhead needs to stop listening to rock, since they obviously have no feel for the soul of the genre.
This whole concert is a master class for a rousing live concert! I sure hope I never get on Saiki's bad side, she is ruthless in her message! The back and forth between MISA and Kanami is one for the ages, so fantastic!
Can we recognize how awesome Akane is, keeping that connection with MISA and Kanami from 40-50 feet away without missing a beat?
MISA's bass is all over in every song, but especially in the MV "Shambles". Try it! You like it!
The Maids are absolutely the best band on the planet. It is almost impossible to find a bad song. You won't find anyone that can outplay the Maids live.
That's how the best current rock band on the planet does it !!!!!!!!
This was their 10th anniversary tour final in Yokohama Arena in Nov 23.
3.5 hours 33 song (this was 27) setlist. The best part? I was there.😁
🍺🤪🤘🏻
Speaking of Incubus... Band-Maid has a new song, Bestie. And it is co-written by Mike Einziger, lead guitarist and co-founder of Incubus. :D
Great to see you enjoying the Maids! Try the "Manners/Blackhole (official live mv)" combo to hear more of the prominent lead bass! The bluesy hard rock and the Chaos!

Thanks so much nice reaction!
I love their real performance !
Band-Maid comes with the bass!! MISA! MISA! MISA!
You can’t imagine how much fun it is to see them live.
I highly recommend VIP tickets.
I’ve been six feet away from MISA and Miku.
Hate? I kind of like a Maidiac's baptism of fire, Brother Jess!! BAND-MAID does have one song that often gets compared to Motorhead. It also includes a bass solo and is called No God. There is a somewhat recent live vid of it that is AWESOME!!

Don't ever apologize for pausing. We are here to hear your thoughts. I like your style. I recommend Play Live next. Insane crowd participation.

Best rock band on the planet. You need to react to NO GOD live if you like bass. Pop and slap.
Best rock band this short century. I suggest Domination LIVE (not the MV). It's only just begun.
"I'm Ron Burgundy?"
Yeah, after listening to this song for the first time, it definitely should have ended with an exclamation point !
I love this girls nice reaction greeting from germany 🤘👍
They are simply the best.
Never a bad time to pause B-M for me. Just means we get to go back a hear a bit more. And yeah, this band has a lead bassist as well as a lead guitarist. 5 great musicians exceeding themselves at every opportunity.
There's nothing wrong comparing BAND-MAID to Motorhead but thank goodness the ladies are a hell of a lot prettier 🙂

tHE new defenition of Hairmetall!!!!! LOL!
Akane's heroic drumming is 🔥
You actually probably paused at the absolute best times.
BTW...new subscriber...👍
Did you know you can drag the captions wherever you want with the mouse? (in YT videos anyway)
