I truly love all of Dan's 80's covers, as well as his metal ones. I have a couple of suggestions. His cover of 18 and Life by Skid Row and I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith (over 7 years ago) are both so good and I know you will enjoy them. Thanks again! Dan can always put his own special something on a song. His 80's stuff is great! It's the little things, doing it in black and white like the original video and coming into color at the end (his tank even matches the color of Axl's bandana).

Wonderful. I love this song. It closes the Prequelle album. This video was filmed at the last concert Ghost did before Covid, March 2020, in Mexico City. The video is a tribute to the fans. The song itself has more than one meaning. But one significance that it has (we think) is a tribute to Tobias' older brother, who died just as the Ghost original demo got picked up by a record company. It's a very sad song, though it's been used at both funerals and weddings... The very ending of the video shows the point at which Cardinal Copia gets anointed as Papa Emeritus IV, by the Sisters of Sin, and earns his ecclesiastical robes, and face-paint (!). Papa IV has actually just retired (2023). If you are missing having gone to a Ghost concert or ritual, please check out the movie that came out in June, 'Rite Here Rite Now', a truly superb concert movie, one of the best, mixed with hilarious skits and actually very moving moments, filmed at two L.A. rituals last September. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It includes the complete set. I think it's only available on Veeps for a fee at the moment, having completed a very successful worldwide theatre run. I don't think you've done *'Faith'* yet? If you do, look up the video from 'A Pale Tour Named Death', it is the studio recording set to concert footage. The song is a bitter diatribe against... well, I'll let you see for yourself! For songs that don't have a video, check out the wonderful 'Respite on the Spitalfields' (dark and proggy, probably the most beautiful song ever written about a serial killer), 'Darkness At The Heart of My Love' (ballady), and 'Kaisarion' (absolute banger), all from the Impera album; or 'Absolution' from either Meliora or the recent live version from the Rite Here Rite Now soundtrack. There is a fabulous live version of the iconic, dark 'Year Zero' from Hellfest 2016. From the same concert, the hypnotic 'Monstrance Clock', both songs from the Infestissumam album. MC used to close their shows years ago. It's a stunner. Slow, draws you in. Haunts you for days.

My guess is Kanami made a deliberate musical decision. Two sets of instrumentation that mostly follows the two band styles, but one style of vocalization from two singers, in a style neither band uses.

Your feeling is due to the fact that they have a very similar vocal range... you have to be very precise to detect who is singing at each moment, but in the first listening it is difficult except in moments where you can appreciate who is singing.

As a fan of The Warning, when I first heard this collaboration I was very surprised at how high Dany was singing. Not knowing Band-Maid very well at the time I thought she was trying to match their singer. I later learned that both singers were singing higher then their norm. I am still learning about BM (lots of videos) so I don't feel qualified to make any commentary about their style out side of they are very good musicians 🤘. I would suggest getting to know The Warning a little because there is a common belief that they will be working together on other projects, I would love to see that. A few suggestions I would make are Evolve Live on the MTV VMA's, Hell You Call A Dream live at the Pepsi Center, and Sharks from their latest album Keep Me Fed. There has been many people that believe the vocals are a little too forward in the mix and it drowns out the instruments. I believe it was written in a way to harmonize the two vocalist and they were both singing out of their ranges. Saiki was singing a bit higher notes with more power than she usually does and Dany was singing in a higher tone. Band Maid is big on their matching harmonies in a lot of their music, so I’m not surprised they went this route instead of the more varied vocals. Not many Maidiacs will dump on you for reasonable thoughts, it’s when they feel a reactor is being disrespectful that they get agitated. I think you’ll be fine from that fanbase. (Someone accused Akane of using a backing track for her high hat once and I thought they were gonna hunt that guy down.)

No hate sir...it's your opinion and you showed no disrespect. This song has had a wide range of responses, so I wouldn't worry about it. I for one love this song, but that's me. Both vocalist were pushed to sing in a key higher than they normally sing, which I think was picked up by both TWA and Maidiacs. Kanami is sometimes a little bit evil with her composition...🤭 But it was a collaboration with input from both bands. The fact many TWA feels it's a Band-Maid song and many Maidiacs feels its a The Warning song kind of proves the collaboration worked. They took a little of each band and came out with a fantastic blend. And I do agree with you, the voice match are very close. Of course, Saiki does have a bit more of an accent to her English, but she's getting better and better as she learns more. I believe she said she learned a lot by watching Dany as enunciated English words. Rock on Master Jess! 🤘😆🤘

I think it was intentional for the vocalists to be at the same pitch and sound similar as Dany, from The Warning, said she sang an octave higher than her normal singing voice although Dany has a great range. The Warning are 3 sisters from Mexico and are usually described as hard rock. The Warning has celebrated 10 years of being a band, same as Band maid, this year and are still very young. Dany being the oldest at 24, Pau on drums at 22, and Ale on bass at 19. The Warning are a phenomenal live band. They write songs with live performances in mind. For a 3 piece they build a wall of sound. It would be great if you could discover more of The Warning on your channel. Evolve live at the VMA awards is a great introduction to the young sisters followed by Automatic Sun, Hell you call a dream, both live on vevo. Choke, Dust to Dust, Animosity, Dull Knives, and Disciple are all great songs that can be found live at Teatro Metropolitan theatre from August 2022. Great video and audio. Hope these recommendations help and that you enjoy them. 🤟

Whazzup, brother?!!! 😊 Dan sings this like smooth jazz…his vocals are soft, yet powerful! This is definitely a song you would hear often on the radio, and it is nostalgic. I feel that Dan did a superb rendition and brought lovely harmonies and wonderful video work on top of it all!!! Everything Dan brings is always top-notch, and he has a way of honoring the original, yet Improving it, and bringing his own style and uniqueness to it! I love that you are continuing to show love and support to the Vasc…keep it up, man! I always love your rambling, Jess. By now you know how much I ramble in written words, as well, so...there's NO way I will ever complain about a reactor rambling out loud! You do a great job of it, and as far as I'm concerned, it really adds a lot to the quality of your reactions (which are great in the FIRST place). I don't know anything about the "real" Rosanna, though...you should always trust your mother's intuition...right?! 😀 Seriously...I have no idea. It doesn't matter. The song itself pulls you because of its rhythm patterns, and because of the obvious intent to please, even though nothing may ever come of it, or even if nothing had ever come of it in the first place. I just love the music! I've never heard the original, but I have heard the original artist praise Dan for his version of Africa, so I think the two of them have a similar mindset, in more than one way. Glad to see you doing another reaction to Dan. Enjoyed this one. What you sad about understanding the lyrics is so true. In addition to the phenomenal vocals and performances he provides, Dan always enunciates every syllable like no one else I've ever heard.

Toto has always been one of my favorites and Dan covering them is pure bliss. He is such an amazing vocalist whose harmonies with himself are just unmatchable. I too, have misunderstood words from older songs and Dan's enunciation is always so impeccable, clearing up any doubts as to what the lyrics are. Thanks for another wonderful reaction. Dans friends are always teasing him about his English, especially the way he says Humiliation. I think he speaks perfectly. You can always understand the lyrics when he sings. He never took lessons. He said he learned mostly from TV and video games. Many thanks for reacting to this one.
