Yes, that sound is the bass, Avi Kaplan, doing his overtones. He does that in a few songs.

The didgeridoo sound you can hear is Avi kaplan overtone singing. He also does it in Dog Days Are Over. This also a clip of him doing it at a concert..... I have watched it a few times but still can't figure it out....then again I'm not a Grammy winner so no surprise there!!❤😂

Thank you for verifying that Avi was doing overtone singing in "Aha!"; I had been uncertain.
Overtone singing isn't actually hard, just counterintuitive. Even I can do it, and I'm a mezzo soprano with a *tiny* range. I can't actually sing full tunes in overtones (like Avi doing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight": ruclips.net/video/2i61_JNc_Nc/видео.html ) but unlike Avi I'm not a professional singer and I've only been practicing for a few months.
If you've watched Avi's explanations of how to do it, that's the reason you don't understand it - his explanations were all apparently off the cuff and pretty much incoherent. You'd do much better with a proper tutorial. Here's one I found: ruclips.net/video/w42DQoZ-z_c/видео.html and another: ruclips.net/video/FQLFrc8XNns/видео.htmlsi=7yANsNkjManYL94h and a third: ruclips.net/video/2kzPek5XbUg/видео.htmlsi=Mu5jNcFC0QASikX3
And this is an interview where the trio and Kevin demonstrate that they also know how to do it: ruclips.net/video/FKm5zNC-maE/видео.html (the question about overtone singing begins at 17:11, but the whole interview is worth watching).

"Aha Singapore" won't find it. You need to specify "Aha Singapore the Star Vista."

    The members of #Pentatonix:
    • The guy with the gorgeous high voice is Mitch Grassi (pronounced Grah'-see, emphasis on the first syllable), natural contratenor. Mitch has a range of just over six octaves and is considered by all the other members of Pentatonix to be the best singer in the band. He's known for his ethereal high vocals, and switches seamlessly between chest voice, mixed voice, and head voice. And when he was 19, Shawn Stockman, of Boyz II Men, said Mitch has "one of the prettiest voices I have ever heard in my life."
    • The tall blond guy is Scott Hoying, lyric baritone. In describing a man's vocal range, "lyric" means that the actual range exceeds the nominal range. In Scott's case, he sings everywhere from about the middle of a normal bass range through a normal tenor range, with an excellent falsetto on top. In live performances Scott typically takes over the bass harmony line when their bass has a solo.
    • Kirstin (also called Kirstie, which rhymes with thirsty) Maldonado is the only woman in Pentatonix. Kirstin sings anywhere from low alto through coloratura soprano, the highest soprano range, and she has fantastic whistle notes on top of that. Recently Pentatonix has begun calling her an "alto soprano."
    • The bearded guy is Avi (pronounced Ah'-vee, emphasis on the first syllable) Kaplan, lyric bass. Avi is an operatically trained basso profundo (his lowest notes have blown out speakers in live performances), but his range extends to about the middle of a normal tenor range. Avi left Pentatonix in 2017, for a variety of personal reasons. He has since gone on to have a very successful solo career; I highly recommend subscribing to his RUclips channel: youtube.com/@AviKaplanMusic
    • Which leaves us with Kevin Olusola (pronounced Oh-loosh"-oh-luh', primary emphasis on the second syllable, secondary emphasis on the fourth syllable), beatboxer extraordinaire. Kevin is generally too busy being the entire percussion section to sing, but when he does sing he has a lovely tenor voice that occasionally dips into the uppermost reaches of baritone, and he's known for the beauty of his falsetto. He's also a pretty good rapper. Kevin has perfect pitch. He began piano lessons at age 4, cello at age 6, and alto saxophone at age 10. He beatboxes while playing the cello, a technique he calls "celloboxing." He performed at Carnegie Hall twice when he was a teenager, once on the cello and once on the saxophone. He graduated from Yale in 2011 with a pre-med major and had been accepted to Yale Medical School before he decided to become a professional beatboxer instead of a brilliant surgeon. He speaks five languages fluently: English, French, Spanish, German, and Mandarin Chinese. He's one of the kindest people in the world, and when he laughs he makes the whole planet seem like a brighter place.
    • Not in this video is Avi's replacement, Matt Sallee (pronounced Suh-lee', emphasis on the second syllable), who joined Pentatonix in late 2017 or early 2018, depending on how you figure it, and has now been with Pentatonix longer than Avi was. Matt is another lyric bass. In addition to being the newest member of Pentatonix, Matt is also the youngest member, and I'm told that bass voices improve with age. So it's hard to be sure just what Matt's range is, because it's still growing. To find his current range I recommend listening to a recent live stream of "Hallelujah" (preferably after watching the official video of "Hallelujah," with Avi). You can find one here: ruclips.net/video/FqphhPapkoc/видео.htmlsi=tC6Ew07JGeQKQvDL Matt's arrangement of the second verse seems to be designed to show off his full range, which is fantastic. He isn't at the blowing out speakers level of basso profundo yet, though he may get there within a year or two, but on the high end he's near the top of a normal tenor range. I believe he has the largest range of any member of Pentatonix, past or present.
The appearance of Mitch and Kirstin tends to vary greatly from one video to another, so people will frequently think they see someone new in Pentatonix when it's really Kirstin or Mitch. With these two, go by their voices, not their appearance; their voices don't lie. To be clear: Avi is the ONLY member who's left Pentatonix and Matt is the ONLY member who joined later.
Scott, Mitch, and Kirstin are childhood friends from Arlington, Texas, and in high school they formed a trio which they unimaginatively named "The Trio." They performed frequently at school functions and occasionally on local television. For this reason, pentaholics (Pentatonix fans) still refer to them as "the trio," and the trio is the heart of Pentatonix.

They also did a cover of "Making Christmas" from The Nightmare Before Christmas that's fun and Halloween themed. This one is just fun. Your dog is hilarious! It's funny because the lyrics have NOTHING to do with the video, but the music and pacing is perfect. The live version of them in Singapore is on another level completely.

#Pentatonix going full Zombie Apocalypse for Halloween. Thank you for watching all the way to the end.
Now that you've seen this I think you're ready (okay, no one is ever *really* ready, but as ready as possible) for "Aha Singapore the Star Vista" ( ruclips.net/video/aT2Nm4fYmI4/видео.htmlsi=aB7JO90tHvdHu1aj ).
It's a fan video, and the phone that recorded it had problems dealing with Avi's low notes, but Avi isn't why this one is legendary. This is the Mitch slap of all Mitch slaps. Oh, and even though you won't see him in the video, yes, Kevin *was* there.

You need to listen to the same song Live at the Star Vista, Singapore. This is the version that exploded. Check it out! Mitch had too many caffeine drinks and needed sleep. It’s great! 😃

So fun to find a new PTX reactor, jump down the rabbit hole.... it's a blast! I'm a Pentaholic and there isn't a bad video of theirs in their huge library. This took me back to when VH1 had music videos (I'm old, lol). You should check out the live Aha! Singapore Star Vista, it's what happens when you combine a high voice and way too many Red Bull's, lol

Came here for Pentatonix, original pentatonic from the beginning. I know you’re going to get a gazillion suggestions for them. So I have another artist I’d like to recommend. His name is MARCIN and he’s considered the best percussive style guitarist in the world. He’s 24 and from Poland. You can either pronounce it…Marseen.. for English speaking people, his choice. But in Polish, it is pronounced Marcheen. If you’ve already heard of him then never mind. Greetings from Southern California. 🤗💋🥰 oh yeah…new subscriber.

This is a fan favorite so they often perform it live. It's a nice Mitch feature and a fun, sort of frantic/creepy,/quirky, arrangement. It's better live than the video in my opinion, but obviously this is amazing. And yes, Avi's overtones are so weird and awesome! Good reaction!
