    Can't wait to try this recipe as I just cooked my 6 oz breasts since I cut them in half down the center
    but that recipe said cook for 15 min and I thought they were too tough. But I did the quick release so
    when I make your recipe I'll let it go slow release but not cook it as long. Thank you so much for this video!

    Thank you! I tried my first meal last night form someone else's recipe. Chicken Stew but it called for cooking the breasts 25 minutes! They were so stringy we almost died from choking. My husband is not impressed...I will try your recipe! :)

    Another question, is it ok to preheat the I.p. Before adding ingredients?

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  2 года назад

      No! That will drastically change the cooking time and results. This is really bad advice I have seen floating around.

    I'm allergic to pineapple.... :( I wonder if orange juice or some other juice works to achieve the tenderizing and flavor you get.

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  3 года назад

      I wouldn't use orange juice, I would suggest stock. The orange juice would overwhelm the chicken.

    There is pressure cook and pressure level. What are they both suppose to be in

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  5 лет назад

      Pressure Level is High. Pressure Cooker is 6 minutes for fresh chicken.

    • @lazystef74
      @lazystef74 5 лет назад

      @@AMindFullMom pressure level or cook low/normal or more.

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  5 лет назад

      @@lazystef74 I am sorry if I am not understanding. You want to be sure your pressure level is high and your cook time is 6 minutes.

    • @lazystef74
      @lazystef74 5 лет назад

      @@AMindFullMom there is a pressure cook button that you can choose high or low. Then there is a pressure level that you can choose low, normal or more. What does that go on. Then you have your -+ button that you can pick the amount of time.

    If I am cooking 2 10oz chicken breast I will have to double the time or stick with the same 8min?

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  3 года назад

      No need to double the time. You base it off the size of 1 chicken breast.

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  3 года назад

      Hmm, I would have to experiment with that. Butter and cream don't do well under pressure. I would probably make the sauce after the chicken cooks.

    If you don’t have pineapple juice, will lemon juice work?

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  2 года назад

      No, I would use stock or water with a lot of seasonings.

    So. If I was cooking 8 6oz chicken breasts thawed, is that 8 x 6 breast’s with a total of 48 min or 6 mins for all of them?

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  4 года назад

      6 minutes for all of them. The cook time remains the same regardless of how many chicken breasts you cook--it will just take longer to come to pressure.

    As a sidenote if you are buying George's Farmers Market brand at Sam's Club. You get 4 packages bundled together. 2 breasts per package. 5.95 lbs for all. So basically 12 ounces per breast. I did try at 9 minutes that seemed the natural increase. But 10 was better for me. Those came in at the right temperature. Perhaps at that size, it needs the extra minute. Thoughts? Also I npr 10 minutes.

      It is ALWAYS a good idea to adjust the recipe to fit your instant pot. Just like ovens, timing can vary from unit to unit slightly.

    Generally speaking, is there a formula for cooking unfrozen chicken breasts? Perhaps a minute per ounce?

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  4 года назад

      I add 4-5 minutes to cook time for defrosted chicken. For chicken, it is typically 6 minutes per pound, but for chicken breasts, it is about 1 minute per ounce

  • @charleswilson4598
    @charleswilson4598 3 года назад

    I have been wondering about chicken breasts in an instant pot. Since the instant pot cooks in super hot boiling water, don't you have to be very careful not to overcook the chicken? If you boil chicken for a long time on the stovetop, for chicken broth for example, you will end up with good broth and tasteless chicken. I will try this and see how it works.
