      Happy to help! Full disclosure, I am not a quilter but have been a professional seamstress for almost 40 yrs. I watched some quilting videos when I first decided to start a channel and when I saw all these videos on how to join ends, I thought why on earth do they make it so complicated!! It would be confusing for beginners for sure. I always try to come up with methods so that everyone “Gets it” right off the bat. Having good visuals also helps a lot.

      @@NotchesSewing I know you don’t press the folded strip I think that is a good way to go makes it softer. I’m going to press the stitches and avoid pressing the fold, just for fun and softness.

      Yes there’s no need for it. It is better not to press in case it doesn’t end up on same crease. When making double fold binding, I press the centre and edges but it’s a different method to attach. ruclips.net/video/fPu4FaEGCKs/видео.html

      @BeYou4You
      there are a lot of RUclips videos about turning quilting corners so I decided to leave out to limit the length of this video. I will post one in the future about the corners. Thanks for watching!

      @@NotchesSewing Maybe if you are gonna skip it; you could provide a link to another RUclips video that would be helpful to your viewers and subscribers

    I thought all bias tape was cut out of the fabric on a diagonal. Not true?

    • @NotchesSewing
      @NotchesSewing  Год назад +1

      binding for quilt projects can be cut on the cross grain as it is only being sewn onto straight edges. There’s enough stretch to do that. Binding should be cut on bias if attaching to anything with curves and a bit of shape
