For anyone having problems mine was that I wrote the code and it just brought me to the login screen. I fixed this by adding a “-“ next to uw. So I wrote “mount -uw /“ and the rest normally and it worked

This is one of the most helpful video and well done step-by-step instructions I've seen to fix an issue on the mac. THANK YOU! BTW for those who don't get the black scripted screen right away, you have to wait to press Cmd and S until you see the white/grey screen. It took me 5 or 6 try but keep trying and eventually your computer will read the command at the right time and show you the black screen.
Using a Standard account for day to day use and having a separate Admin account for when required adds another layer of security to the machine and is regarded as good practice.
I’m am not tech saver at all. I use RUclips for steps a lot. But like this guy I have never ever seen a more detailed, more step by step of perfection,easiest best steps ever. Awesome job!!! Thank you sooo much!

This is amazing. I tried editing my user details without creating an alternate admin account and it locked me out. Thanks a ton! However, this is also a huge security flaw IMO. I guess this doesn't work with file vault turned on?
None of my accounts have administrator privileges and whenever I want to set an account as an administrator it asks for the administrators user and password!
Entity-Rocker What is the exact error message you are receiving? If you are trying to do something that requires an administrators password then yes, this will help.

Goldy Fernando Goldy this isn’t my video but I think I can still help. It might only show the same user because there is only one profile on the mac. What this script does is it makes it so you can chose who the admin is.
Other tutorials did not mention the importance of the spaces in writing the code, so yours is the one that helped me to solve the problem. Thanks a lot.

GUYS ITS BECAUSE YOU PUT SPACE ON .AppleSetupDone Dont put space on the front of .AppleSetupDone There is supposed to be no space, I got confused at first by putting space but dont put space on it and finish the instruction. It worked

download all of ur stuff onto hard drive and fac reset ur laptop. (shut down and restart while holding cmd r)
