2:48 I was finally able to watch in person this year (I live in Minnesota). What’s hard to see on TV is that in the 2nd and 3rd quarter he had to start crashing the boards on offense and defense because Spurs weren’t making any shots and the t wolves were getting a bunch of offensive rebounds. So he essentially running from baseline to baseline EVERY possession.
@ duh smarty I know that.I watch the spurs every game I’m not the one saying we succ or nun its literally jus Wemby then everyone else similar to 2004-2005 lebron.
The Spurs should not pursue Zion Williamson. He's fantastic when healthy but he's injured so often and it's because he doesn't take care of his body, and with this being his fifth NBA season that probably won't change no matter what team he goes to. Arguably, being in New Orleans with its great cuisine is terrible for foodies such as Zion. San Antonio would be no better. It has plenty of culinary temptations: abundant Tex-Mex restaurants, smokehouses, Louisiana cuisine restaurants owned and operated by people with New Orleans roots, etc.
gotta work on cleaning up silly turnovers and offensive rebounding. every possession is important and we cant always let the other team get more possessions and shots up than us...
I am also tired of casual Spurs fans slandering Sochan. It's like stop drawing these awful conclusions based on one 12-second play that blew up. Sochan held Ant to 6/20 and only 14pts. He also won us that Atlanta game. Sure, in hindsight, Julian should've been in on that play instead of Sochan, but Julian was shooting awful. It's easy to point out that mistake after the fact. My advice to these haters is to stop letting your short-term emotions influence your belief in our players. Look at the bigger picture. It's an 82 game season. We are .500 after going 22-60 last year. We are going to lose games. Wemby is 20, and Sochan is 21. Do not overlook the value of these guys.
@mtj3314 The problem is you, like many others, only remember who scores the big shots during games. If you actually go back and look at the play by play you will see we gained momentum when Jeremy got two huge steals and grabbed some offensive boards. He also brought energy and put defensive pressure during that comeback that doesn't show up on the stats. Even Mitch Johnson said Sochan won them the game. Yes, we also won because of Wemby, as we always will, but without Sochan, we lose that game by double digits.
I love how Keldon gets blamed when Mitch is literally making his job harder. KJ should not run the 4 anymore. He is too small, idk why we play kj at the 4 when hes smaller now. You cant hide someone on defense with 4 guards. KJ should be a guard now
Guys we need to stop criticizing individual players and get at how to win all of these close games! No blowouts, better than last season, but spurs need to pull out the win! Prevent the other team from going on a run! Defense is a problem still!
@ we already know other player will focus more on wemby for him to no shoot so you need to put great shooter arround him i love sochan but this is not is rôle at all we cant blâme him for being put on wrong position like last years cant blâme him when coach put him on pg pos and doing bad stuff
Clan, they lost the game, YEA Sochan had a bad game defensively, you can't say Sochan was in the locker room telling everyone he was proud of his defense tonight.... you really saying that?? 😠
I am not happy at all to hear all these non-sense critics (and I am usually not very soft with the Spurs' players). Last year, the two games at Minnesota had both finished with a long garbage time because the Spurs are not even closed to harm the Wolves. This year, it is very difficult to better teams than the Spurs to win against San Antonio. The last three on-road games (all against good teams which are currently on good positive series) were decided in the last 30 seconds. Last night, not like in Philly and in New York (where the Spurs made TO), the Spurs even had the last shot for the win. THIS IS INDEED A GOOD PERFORMANCE. The Spurs is not a 50-wins team yet and won't win all on-road games against better teams. Wemby is still a young player who makes lots of mistakes (but learning very fast). Sochan is only 21 but is currently stepping up. Castle is a rookie (currently hurting his rookie wall). CP3 and Barnes are both very good vets but definitely not in their prime. And the Spurs' bench is very weak : Zach Collins doesn't even play anymore. Bassey and Mamu are limited. Branham hasn't the NBA level. Sidy Cissoko... no comment. Wesley is not bad defensively but will never become a 3&D. Keldon is very inconsistant offensively and not good defender. Jones is struggling offensively. Btw the Spurs in March will be much better than the Spurs in December and those closed games will be won because this team is learning very fast. And I need to add that Sochan made a brillant game. Edwards is the best player of the Wolves. Sochan guarded him all the game and managed to limit him at 14 points and 6/20 from the field. The last bad performance of Edwards was against Atlanta when Dyson Daniels guarded him (8 steals in the game). When you spend so much energy on the defense, it is very difficult to be very performant offensively. The Sochan offensive stats are then quite marginal.
Wemby should have taken mid range jumpers at the end of the 4th with how well he was shooting them, he also needed to go for more blocks instead of watching the opponent shoot. Sochan shouldn't shoot outside of the paint until he develops a better form. His shot is so slow an odd that it allows the defender to close in on him and mess up his shot. Hence the block that happened. The team as a whole needs to stop allowing so many second chance points. I have seen this problem in multiple games.
Man Wemby are played 40 min… he was gazed for sure. When He is out, the team is poor. Look at the +/-. Why you dont understand, if he doesnt shoot 3s how he can unlock the paint? We have nobody to Space the floor. Look at the team, Vassel inconsistent, CP3 bad 3 point shooter, HB inconsistent, Sochan really bad shooter, Castle bad, Champagnie inconsistent, Thats all… How He can go to the paint with 3 player on him. Man this is basketball. We all want Wemby in the paint. But we more doesnt want him to risk any injuries. We are not a pretender yet. Let him develop his 3s. 20 already in MVP talk. Bring Christmas day, Paris game, light the franchise. The spurs organization know how to develop big man, do not worry. We need shooter thats all. This is his second season, ok he got to do better sometimes, but what about the players on their 3,4,5 or 6 season. No player on our team can be starter in a contender except Wemby. This is bad. The last shoot we would have liked Vassel to take it but he hides in the big moments, yet he is supposed to be our number 2. I won't blame Sochan for this shoot, he took his responsibilities, hustle guy.
So kelden did better on offense but no good defense better than Jeremy did good defense but no good offense make that make sense? Seems like you just jock on Jeremy just a little
Bad shot by sohan and Wemby needs stop jacking up 3s when the team is only down by 1 point that’s where good coaching comes into play which they don’t have right now
That would have been a turnover. Divincenzo was all over that pass. At best divincenzo tips the ball out of bounds and left us with less than 2 sec left on the clock. Sochan actually tried to move the ball to Barnes but didn’t due to this exact reason.
Wemby is developing that ridiculous flopping habit 🙄 Clan, you're pointing out the terrible state of this team, no maturity, No Defense. You also said before that Wemby was going to be a great 3 pt shooter, but he's been chucking bad shots like a scrub.

Jeremy Sochan would have taken that final shot instead of looking to pass if he was a steadier jump shooter.
