I really like the curtains!!! That was a wonderful idea!!! Thank you for sharing and I'm so proud of you and what you have accomplished. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR COZY LITTLE HOME.
I found these really awesome oak pallets one time that had been used to ship vinyl siding. They were about 14 feet long and had nice wide and split free boards. The pallets themselves were heavy, I had trouble flipping them over so they must have been over 200 lbs. I thought I was in luck and had found some really nice wood for free. Unfortunately I couldn't get the damn boards off. I think the wood was nailed on while the boards were still wet and oak is tough. The nails were so tight that I kept breaking the heads off of them and I was unable to even pound the boards free. After about 15 minutes of trying I gave up. Free is great but you still have to factor in your time.
That sounds like a good use for pallets like that. They really were made of a nice heavy oak. If pallets can be used whole for something they are so much less hassle. I have made a few compost bins from whole regular sized pallets.
supercooled If you look around hard enough you should be able to locate some free pallets. Every area will be a bit different but a few places I can think of off the top of my head would be roofing and siding supply stores (the type that cater to contractors), hardware stores and warehouses. A drive through most industrial areas will usually yield places to get pallets some will even have signs that say "free pallets." You could also search the local classifieds for pallets or "free pallets."
He was doing alright until he said that he an old futon mattress from the side of the road. That's not green. That's just gross. You don't have to reuse everything.
CA Tay Hey, sometimes you just have to use what you can get. Being on the road with no cash, you learn to really appreciate sleeping on someone's old dusty couch cushions.
I would like to build a few of these. Could really make them nice, still going from recycled or scrap supplies. Keep it small nice simple and super efficient
wow - I really really like this Tiny House. Brilliant set up, spacey and beautiful solutions with several natural materials. I wish soemday I could have on elike this!! Congratulations on this beautiful place!
Hey Deek You prob won't respond to this but it's worth trying I am a 14 years old and was wondering if you are going to Ohio anytime soon? I was wondering because I want to make a tiny house made from recycled materials I want to make one because I want a club house sorta thing except when I move out I would want a design I could live in (I want it to be sort of a modern look) I just wanted to know if you could help me build it if you come to Ohio ( my dad is always busy since he owns his own business and his workers don't know crap so he usually has to fix their mistakes) If you could help me design it or even build it that would be amazing! Thanks have a great day
Dear Wee a Boo; Maybe you would have better luck in making your wish come true if you contact Deek more directly. I found this email address that looks like it will go to him: Newenglandrockpress@gmail.com this is from what appears to be his Blog page. relaxshacks.blogspot.com/ Good Luck to you; and remember; the difference in having Dreams vs Goals in Life is that Dreams stay in our heads; Goals have step by step plans with timelines & deadlines.
Excellent. What you made here is comparable to some of those six figure listings in some channels(which is really counter effective). I'm assuming you don't have a floor plan, but what's here on the video is pretty easy to follow. I really like the movable toilet idea. I'm going to assume it's not insulated. I'm not sure if you mentioned weight, but I think it is lighter than the typical ones because it's not insulated. When SHTF, this is probably the one of the few I'll go with.
Thanks for doing that before I did! I was looking for a video like this and that just happens to be the way I found your channel last week! Perfect timing.
if youre ever in the lenoir, nc area i have a tinyhouse id love to show you about 80% done with stainless roofing, a full size 7'x8' sunroom and an offgrid setup i plan on running air conditioning with
From a little city south east of Shrewsbury Mass, I want to give you much respect to have built this beautiful little humble hideaway. I'm wondering if your actually living in this humble home, as I know that Taxachusettes and your town will not let you get away without , electricity,, plumbing,, proper this and or that and on and on. Don't let your local neighbor's know as I know they will have you taking one plank and board apart one by one ,,and that my dear friend would be so sad for you! 🤐
every city in the united states have so many homeless people, you prove that dont have to be1200 is not a lot of money...i would invest in a place like your just for the homeless..i just subcribe to your channel.
Not to mention the tools required, physically having a place to build and keep it, being able to haul all the materials around. It's not as simple as just "Heres $1200, Yaaaay, now I have a home". Life is complex, that's why there are homeless. Nothing is so simple.
$12,000? and you're home looks like this?! So cool! Mine cost under $10,000 and we built it out of a retired semi truck trailer. We have pallet wood for decoration but this! This is way cool!
Thats a grate Idea dude. Im looking for a 14 foot family trailer, I could totally do some thing like that. I guess an RV would be a mini, mini house, And as a bonus get something way nice that I could afford at a dealer and safe the environment. now just need Flat deck trailer to start with. Local small sawmill and like 2 salvage car and RV yards. Now Im thinking, lol. thanks for the insperation. I also love rustic look and salvaged look, guess I may be perfect to learn how to do this, lol.
supercooled cat litter was a pain. could've spent some time making the walls look a little nicer, like staggering the wood. my ocd is killing me look at the wall that separates the toilet and the kitchen lol and seeing the back wall being crocked. super cool for only $1200
Great build. I appreciate the builders use of recycled/free materials. I always try to get free or buy used things. One less thing in a landfill
Jonny DIY Its very viable.
The man he interviews throughout the video is the one who built this tiny house.
Great, funky house! As an old smoke eater, it warms my heart to see a smoke detector and a fire extinguisher in the house
I really like the curtains!!! That was a wonderful idea!!! Thank you for sharing and I'm so proud of you and what you have accomplished. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR COZY LITTLE HOME.
Free, found and reused……perfect and brilliant. Very cozy love shack!

Canadian Renegade I Used basically the same type pallet you are talking about for my back porch. put it on rail road ties

CA Tay 😂😂😂 I thought I was the only one that heard that... I was thinking ummmmm.... you spent money on a toilet seat, but not the futon.
CA Tay Hey, sometimes you just have to use what you can get. Being on the road with no cash, you learn to really appreciate sleeping on someone's old dusty couch cushions.
lmao...
whats wrong with that? think about it this way, when you drink water its just recycled dino pee. ... my 5yr old told me this..
Mike D haaaa!!! children know everything!😂😂😂😂 tell him/her I'm gonna use that tomorrow!
Definitely a labor of love. Nicely done.
It's very rustic. I was wondering if he was going to live in it full time. He answered my question at the end.
I would like to build a few of these. Could really make them nice, still going from recycled or scrap supplies. Keep it small nice simple and super efficient

Good job you're very smart! Good luck!!!
The Loft rocks🎶🌴🎶
I love how you made this feel doable. It definitely I felt feels like a guys hangout but I like how you used what you had. Thanks for sharing.

Good job. Thanks for sharing.

Well most people who are homeless are mentally ill so there's that. Darn schizophrenic people with no self control!!
I want to see you getting 1200 dollar when you have no job, have to take care of yourself and are probably gonna get robbed anyways
Not to mention the tools required, physically having a place to build and keep it, being able to haul all the materials around. It's not as simple as just "Heres $1200, Yaaaay, now I have a home". Life is complex, that's why there are homeless. Nothing is so simple.
Good video guys camera man is a funny guy this video kick ass

Travis and Kiah, no 1200 dollars not 12000.
Moa Henny Myllymaki oh yes! Thank you for correcting me. I read that wrong! $1200 is more impressive!
This is fantastic!!
That's awesome man keep up the good work
" what's the chain for?,when guest misbehave"?
Funny.
Isn't pallet wood sprayed with fungicide or something? Here in the UK that's what I was always told.
only the stuff stamped "MB" or "MT"- which isn't so commonly seen in the US..... if it says "HT"- you're good.....
Derek Diedricksen what do those acronyms mean?
HT= heat treated. MB- Methyl Bromide (a fungicide)- in the US I've only seen ONE pallet with MB on it- and I use pallet wood A LOT.
Thanks 'Deek'.
I'll have a look at work tonight to see what markings are on there. I'm in Canada.
This is great! Love it!

Are those coffee bags? I have a bunch of pallets from the green coffee shipments and was planning on doing something similar to this!
It looks fabulous. Can you tell me about the type of pallets you used? Is it insulated?
Nice description.
PALLET PRYER is the Answer to DISMANTLE pallets, it is so quick and easy anybody can use it, heaps less waste from broken boards too.
Coincidentally, I bought Micro Shelters today.
Thanks!
did you have to treat the pallet wood before building with it? many do I do not know how but I know they add a chemical to it
Nice and I really like the mismatched salvaged wood look. Does it come with the hot musician carpenter? Sorry, I had to. Just kidding!
Sexist hypocritical bitch.
Top job by the way, good on ya man, well done hey.
you are amasing
"already pissing off the locals." Lol
very good use of recycled free materials, is this for sale?
Where do you dump out the 5-gallon bucket?
"keep the doors open doesn't smell too bad" LOL
Very cool
Very nice!
good job
I love this video
very nice!
Dude, sweet pad. Was it really 1200? Nice. Legit movement.
1200 bucks? holy crap!
I want to live in that house
pallet wood is best wood
o for composting saw dust or may be cat litter does the job well enough? where do you du p the stuff? is it legal to dump it on the side of the road?
supercooled
cat litter was a pain. I tried it once.
if its your own property you can dump legally. urine is healthy for plants so long as not on certain meds. poo is toxic unless you've been raw vegan for years.
its best to empty in a trash bag for poo and throw in dumpster and pee you can empty into a toilet. just never empty your pee into a river or creek etc... it will get others sick.
I love this!!!
Yep, better than a tent..
how hard is it to build one legally in mass to live in?
cool place
Wow Christopher Martin from Coldplay made a badass house
Great job !
Nikki S I had a house exactly like that sadly a tornado came
Terrific!
This dude finds EVERYTHING on the side of the road!! lmao
How can you go under a bridge if it is 14ft tall. Most bridge clearance is 13ft.
Awesome !
Damn boy.
Is this house plan in your book,Deek?
No, sorry, book came out in 2014- this one is too recent.... we might feature it in the next book (with a floorplan, etc)
could've spent some time making the walls look a little nicer, like staggering the wood. my ocd is killing me look at the wall that separates the toilet and the kitchen lol and seeing the back wall being crocked. super cool for only $1200
Is he still living in the tiny house????
SO how much does it weigh?
It's art!
nice!!
What is up with the comment feature. Twice my post dissapeared befor I was done? Thanks for the video loved this FYI.
