I really loved and liked MCU's Marvel Studios Elevator fight scenes because Steve Rogers aka Captain America has making it so popular iconic that has everybody jaw-dropped about fight scene. Oh by the way, Frank Castle aka The Punisher's inspiration is Steve Rogers aka Captain America.
That was always very strange for me. I’ve never read the comics I’ve only seen the movie and the tv show but the punisher is so gruesome and at times absolutely ruthless. Cap however isn’t this way. I figure if someone looks up to a person like Cap, they’d be more like him. Like I used to always look up to Batman as a kid and believed in his no killing rule and stealth and gadgets, doing the right thing, etc. But of course I never actually became a vigilante or superhero. It’d be interesting to hear Frank Castles input on this subject but the Punisher answers to no one so good luck, am I right?
What I love so much about this fight scene is how Frank can still be a brutal fighter without killing his opponents! Since they are cops, he's still very careful with making sure he doesn't kill them.
There’s a difference between thin blue line and blue lives matter / thin blue lines was created after 2001 to pay respect to Officers involved during 9/11 blue lives matter is the most common on trucks and was created has a response to Black Lives Matter
Wow an actual punisher scene true to the comics! Its wierd how people associate the punisher with back the blue, they clearly never read any of the comics.
I'm wondering which ones you're referencing? Sure, he's had a few scuffles with the police here and there, took on some pretty corrupt and racist cops in the early 90s (He literally underwent surgery to become black lol) slammed one cops head into the windshield when they were trying to apprehend him, knee capped two when Kingpin had a "cop" planted in the force, but he deliberately states even in the MAX run, that he's "not stupid enough to go out of his way to attack the police. It would be wreck less and bring too much attention to him and only slow things down." He works with some police, avoids others and only ever combats them nonlethally when they are directly impeding him getting his target and he has to go through them (Like this scene) Police and servicemen alike wear the logo A) because it looks cool and B) because it provides a common symbol to rally behind. I've got all the comics from his first stand alone in Circle of Blood all the way to The King of Killers and have read them multiple times. Hell, one of the Punishers was a cop (Lynn Michaels). So I'm just honestly wondering which comics you're referencing? No spite or vitriol here, us Punisher fans are few and far between since he's so niche and Marvel now days actively hate Frank Castle and have no idea what to do with him. As far as cops and military wearing the symbol in the comics, he's sort of back and forth with it. In the 2014 run, a cop adopts his symbol and crusade against his wishes and as self-punishment for failing her he lets her gut shot him. In others? he feels they share a common fight and lets them use the symbol under very strict conditions (Rachel Cole-Alves). Then in the 2019 run he makes the most mid statement to two police fan girling. The Brotherhood arc from 2001 is a great read if you're down for it. He struggles with the idea of taking down two (On the surface) crooked cops but steps back due to some really nuanced writing. But usually? He goes out of his way to stay out of their way. Like I said, no hate, no vitriol, just a fan speaking to a fan.
@@LocalBosnian-99 considering they're most likely dirty cops not sure you'd root for them and since they're in NY which is Spiderman's stomping grounds as well and he constantly has to deal with dirty cops with Yuri its not real surprising Punisher runs into them.
This episode got us a bit deeper into Frank's past and while it deviates from some of Garth Ennis' more compelling groundwork in Frank's wartime service (and an altogether different war in Vietnam) it's an interesting set-up tying in comics characters like Rawlins (way slimier in the comics if you can believe it), Russo and Micro, all of whom are quite good here. Ben Barnes has quickly become a great bad guy in roles like this and Westworld and although Ebon Moss-Bachrach doesn't look like the comics-version Micro, he plays a strong part and makes it his own. Sadly, the other side characters, including Madani, Sam and pretty much everyone at the Vet Center (except Curtis. Curtis is cool) don't fare as well and feel like they're slowing down the preceedings. It also feels like we're going to have to wait a while to get Frank back in the skull vest, which is a shame because that was always a problem I had with the movies; they did everything they could to get him out of it. Hopefully, I'm wrong and they make ample use, but I won't hold my breath yet. So far, it's a slow burn, but Bernthal is absolutely solid here and as things ramp up, I'm hoping to feel a stronger investment in the characters across the board.
I remember laughing when I first saw this scene and the elevator door opened. Just because of the sheer insult to injury after what had just happened lol
Anyone else feel that cops in movies and tv always look stereotypical? There's something about how they're portrayed which looks old fashioned. It's like they have them playing cops in the uniform they graduate in. That's not what they wear to work. This one is gonna sound weird but they don't look like people who could fuck you up. I can understand why to a degree, can't have the cops be built different that the leading dude. Can't have these big ass paramilitary tatted and armored up guys on screen. If they looked like they did in real life, you'd think they're coming take the build not clear it.
