In the comics Frank has been at this since the 1970s so every single new yorker who so much as jaywalks knows if you see the skull you run. He, Moon Knight, and Spider-Man if he's pissed off are labelled under permanent "do not fuck with".
Love the quick draw, when they least expects it he shoots them. Also notice that all of them don't have guns? He goes for the ones with the guns first to minimize the chance of him getting shot. Takes some nerves to notice that in a situation like that vs 6 people.
Yeah and you can also tell that as soon as he started blasting em, he was moving from side to side to make sure they wouldn’t have a clear shot of him.
@@jg-yy5lr you can learn as a civilian also. Lots of gun clubs and ranges offer this kind of training across the country. 10/10 recommend must do for the contemporary man
I love how everything this guys do is just another hint for Frank on how to handle them. 1.) The "leader" just talks way to much and the body language of everyone behind him just makes clear that they won't to anything, unless their "boss" makes the first move 2.) They tell Frank that they need him alive to get the girl. So he knows that they have no intention in killing him. That shifts the whole situation towards Frank because FRANKLY (I'll show myself out), he just doesn't care about killing. 3.) At least two guys draw knifes which elimantes the immediate threats by 33% 4.) The way they approach this situation. They expect Frank to be intimitated simply because of him being outnumbered 6 to 1. That was their expected outcome, so they acted accordingly. Him taking action first and doing so in an unusual moment just wasn't on their mind at all. So the dude in the front even had his gun pointing at Frank with the finger on the trigger but was so damn surprised that he had no chance in reacting. So after a seconds, Frank was sure that he was the one being charge here and it shows.
That's actually a great way to analyze it if you were ever in a similar situation. They said they want you alive so they won't kill you most likely and 2 drew knives, which at that distance arent super effective so focusing on the "unarmed" ones first would be smart. Also Frank's draw to shot is very good and he knows where to hit to drop them fast while also keeping the boss alive long enough for info.
Only questionable decision in this scene was when he decided not to go for the leader first as he clearly posed the biggest threat to franks health (even with the moment of surprise the guy still had 1 1/2 seconds to react) the rest was rock solid with the 2 guys holding semi autos droppin first aswell as the 4th bullet connecting with the leaders knee before he turned on the guys to the left
This was honestly one of the most Punisher things The Punisher did on the show. I wanted this so much throughout the season. He felt like he was fully Punisher here
Yup, that's exactly what comics Frank would've done. The only difference being Frank's comic reputation is such that there's no way in hell you would confront him with only six guys but this is new Frank lol.
Love the small detail at 2:06 of the fence shaking, makes franks surprise appearance more believable since he hid behind the fence than quickly hopped it, instead of him just teleporting there
Not sure if anyone pointed this out, but what's also interesting about the alley shooting is that prior to this his jacket was zipped up. Once he anticipated danger, he unzipped his jacket. In the comic lore, the skull serves not as a form of intimidation but as a target for his would-be victims. So with regards to this scene, it was a nice subtle touch that his jacket was zipped down when he ambushed them instead of it (probably) being called out as a continuity error lol
In the comics Frank was talking to Microchip one time and gave his reasoning on why he wore the white death head on his chest. If I remember correctly Frank said that when a criminal first notices him and the white skull moving forward that's what he wanted the bad guy to shoot at.
