@@helloworld2054 Federer had Djokovic on the ropes like rolled roast on kitchen string - just because he didn't beat him doesn't mean he wasn't his equal.
@@viksinha5410 4/23 definitely suggests he could’ve been better. I think if he didn’t give up the old racket, his forehand would’ve been a lot better in his later years. It was kind of a necessary change unfortunately as that frame was considered old. But I do agree, that he still was playing well in the final though it could’ve been better.
@@Divvy21 Yes, he could have been better, but he was playing extremely well that day. Generating 23 break point chances means you played well enough to win. The sets were very tight, so if a couple of those breaks go Rogers way, who knows what would have happened. Djokovic wasn't that much better that Federer that day despite winning in 4 sets.
it was the match up...Wawrinka couldnt decode Roger..but found success against Djokovic, Federer had Djokovic beat in 2019 but lost focus or rather gave it away
Wawrinka should have thought not to wear the watch while playing, even you are not use that hand but the sweet and the stiffness would hold you down man,You should look at Nadal and Federer never wore anythings except hand band
Stylistic matchups aside, stan definitely has a mental block against federer😂. Even when federer hits a normal rally shot by their standards stan just rockets an error while he wouldnt against other players
I believe that's because Federer's an attacking player who imposes the rhythm of play, especially on a faster surface, where he can take the ball early and cut a lot from Wawrinka's reaction time. It also explains why Wawrinka's only 3 wins against him, all came on clay. Stan does not do well with players that do not give him a rhythm. That is why he plays well against someone like Djokovic, because Djokovic stays in the rallies with him and this allows Wawrinka to be the one who is attacking and dictating play, a think he could not do against Federer or even Nadal. Against attacking players, he becomes impatient, tries to go for the quick winner and that results in many errors, because he is not comfortable being in that position.
Because Federer is the most loved tennis player in history and people want to see his old matches in their entirety and in a great quality. The new guys have more than enough media exposure at this point.
Federer was a death match-up for Wawrinka. Even when Stan was at his peak he never found a way to beat Roger off clay...
Roger Federer's play style, his serve action, his attacking tennis , his smooth movements 😭 How many are missing the maestro ❤ GOAT 🐐

It’s funny because djokovic beat him soundly in the final but if djokovic played wawrinka then it could have gone either way.
