    The neo backhand is simply beautiful. Crazy how he turned his defensive backhand into pure offence. There were games where he had more backhand winners than forehand winners.

    Shows the greatness of the man when your weaker shot has got its own fan base

      This gets so often misinterpreted. Firstly, having a weaker backhand than a forehand is basically the definition of modern tennis. A stronger backhand than a forehand almost* exclusively means not being a professional tennis player (*I know people always mention Paire and Gasquet). Secondly, Roger's 2017 backhand was not only in my opinion the best backhand the game has ever seen.

    People say my countryman Dimitrov's backhand is beautiful, but Federer's BH should be in a museum! The way he generates so much power without a huge wind-up, is astonishing! My shoulder hurts every time Grigor makes a BH, but Roger does it just like that, like it's nothing - looks so effortless it's crazy!

    “And the Federer winning feeling returns”. God I miss that feeling.. and this man’s presence on this dull era of men’s tennis.

    • @J.-M.
      @J.-M. 4 месяца назад +6

      Exactly. People keep saying how much better players have become in recent years compared to Roger's era, but when I watch recent tournaments, including the US Open, it's impossible for me not to see how superior Roger (and his generation) was compared to today's players and how much duller and more boring the game has become. He would still win two slams a year if he was younger and healthy.

      @@J.-M. Quite literally. I’ve been playing since I was 5 years old so I base my whole game around Federer’s style of play; attack. Nowhere near as elegant and effortless as him but I get called “Federer like” at my local club 😉

    Even though Stans backhand seems more effective I think Federer in fact had the shot that wins. That is especially true if you look at their entire careers instead of their peaks.

    Considering your backhand is supposedly weaker than your forehand, I think RF’s backhand was all the more amazing, as for me it was actually his stronger not weaker shot. The accuracy and range of it was incredible. I’d be keen to know the stats on how many winners he had in his career forehand v backhand; I wouldn’t be surprised if his backhand was much the higher. His backhand certainly was considerably more graceful than his forehand, and arguably it was - and still is - the most beautiful tennis shot ever seen.

    The most powerful backhand in tennis history. He dominated the ATP when his knees held up after 2017. It's incredible to see it in one video. And not a single clip from Indian Wells 2017 vs Nadal. Now you want to talk about total complete domination with his backhand. Thanks.

    En mi opinión R F. cometió dos errores estratégicos en su carrera; primero se demoró mucho en cambiar a una raqueta de mayor aro(de 90 a 97). Tendría que haberlo hecho el 2012/2013 y ese nuevo revés también debería haberlo incorporado antes.

  • @davidfernandogallardoberri698
    @davidfernandogallardoberri698 3 месяца назад +1

    Si hubiera incorporado ese nuevo revés más ofensivo mucho antes, (2012/2013) y una raqueta de mayor aro(de 90 a 97),seguro habría ganado unos cuantos GS. más.
    Ambas cosas las hizo muy tarde.

    после работы с Любичичем удар слева у Федерера стал идеальным за счёт более протяжённой проводки ракетки в сторону точки приземления мяча после нанесения удара... влияние тренера неоспоримо... свободнейшее движение наотмашь...
