    • @alexanderbankowski5617
      @alexanderbankowski5617 2 года назад +2

      I’d imagine you get to a point where there’s not enough limos. What can a limo comfortably seat like 10 people tops? Sales floors typically have upwards of 200 people that’s 20 limos just for 1 sales floor, a company this size will have 3 to 5 sales floors, if you can get 50 limos and figure out how to logistically coordinate them then you are probably manage a school district transportation department. But for us simple sales people it is easier to rotate a few charter buses. At least from my experience with corporate “best year ever!” sales things here in Detroit, cobo, fox theatre things

    • @alexanderbankowski5617

      I could see what you’re saying. Just on the comparison of Boiler Room vs Wolf of Wall Street, it’s apples and oranges on the main character. BR is from the POV of someone who didn’t find success (by success I mean didn’t make it to the top of the firm) and WOWS is from the POV of one who did. So yeah, most of us relate to Seth’s experience since it’s from the layperson’s perspective.
      I kind of wish BR was done around the time WOWS released because now it’s buried in the list of great finance movies. I feel like people search for WOWS, The Big Short, and Wall Street before finding BR, if it’s not beaten by Margin Call.

Seth Davis’ experience is most likely hundreds if not thousands of others experience of working for a ‘chop shop’ firm and it not working out in the end. WOWS was about the lifestyle. BR is about the process.

    It's hilarious how many people believe everything hollywood tells them. This might be the LEAST "realistic" film about sales in film history. So ridiculous, over the top, and dramatic. Don't get me wrong, I love this movie. But JFC the plot and details require more than a suspension of disbelief- more like an EXPULSION of disbelief. Wolf of Wall Street was another one. The real Belfort was a douchbag con man, but once again, his story is so much bloated fiction and self-celebration to make himself look awesome, it's just so laughable. Yes, there were kernels of truth, but like Boiler room, 90% fiction. That's HOLLYWOOD people! They make their money on story telling, not documentary. Let's watch these films because they are entertaining, but stop making yourselves look like idiots by claiming similar stories. Anyone who comes on here and tells you about their days in sales that were just like Boiler Room or W of WS is LYING to you.

    • @4exgold
      @4exgold 2 года назад +3

      WoWS did show Belfort and his cronies to be sleazy degenerate conmen, from the drug use to the financial scams to trying to bribe law enforcement officials and so on. I dont know how people left that movie thinking Scorsese was somehow glamorising these people. They were despicable.

    • @frogger1952

      Have you asked a real life wall street professional about this??? I dont think you have. If by unrealistic you mean not as bad as the real world you’d be right. IRL it was much much worse. People have died in this job from the level of stress and thats saying something
