For me the greatest thing about Iced Earth was how they always merged power metal, thrash metal, traditional metal and even progressive metal to great such a grand and exciting style of power/thrash metal that compromises not a single iota on heaviness, majesty, melody, complexity and concepts in it's delivery. They have done this (rather Jon Schaffer has) since they formed back in 1984 in Tampa FL.
Hell, once Stu joined the band he was even getting in death and guttural growls when they played live. Especially on Dantes Inferno. Jon's ability to fuse the elements of multiple metal genres and come out sounding like an Iron Maiden/Metallica smash up is what really hooked me on them all the way back in 92! I doubt we have seen the last of Iced Earth, but it'll be a while before we see anything new music wise.

Anyone?) so to find Iced Earth was truly what I needed with a band staying true to what the real icons of heavy metal such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and early Metallica had forged. I certainly hope it isn't the last of Iced Earth but as you said very correctly, it is going to be a long wait until any new material sees the light of day.

I just heard one of the greatest songs I've ever heard in this decade! HOLYFUCK THIS IS GONNA BE PLAYING ON REPEAT. It's got everything I love in Metal. I just fuckin love it. @@novaseer 100%.....F&TPIH, that whole Sound of Perseverance album was a fitting "swansong" for them to go out with, as unfortunate as it was with Chuck's passing.....BWP was a monumental album as well, arguably Opeths finest hour, well along with Deliverance, and Ghost Reveries.....id also add Type O negative, "Gravitational Constant" "Bloody Kisses" "Anesthesia" and "September Sun" to that list....all epic, well put together monsters of songs.....Peter Steele was another, just like Chuck, who were both modern day composers, who sadly left us at an early age

I know that there are some people that don't really care for the new songs on Incorruptible , but I absolutely love this album. I have been listening to it nonstop since I got this past Friday. There were some songs that didn't grab me at first and some that I loved the first time I heard them. That has been the case for me with Iced Earth for about ten years. Their first album all the way up to The Glorious Burden didn't need many listens for me to love the songs. Since Framing Armageddon up to now, for me I need to hear some of the songs a great amount of times before they grow on me.
I got this album in 2017 when I was a senior in highschool, this song was one of my most played songs on my phone. To this day, Incorruptible holds a special place in my heart.

As a Long Time IE Fan i have to admit that i was disapointed of Dystopia and Plegues of Babylon. Incorruptable is by far the best Album with stu Block. Just my opinion.
plagues is also very good, although missing the heaviness i seek from iced earth after the 3 initial songs. Dystopia even heavier lacks something i can't define. Apart from barely a handful of tracks it is my least favorite album by far

Lord Raging Iguana I would say that stu block is every previous iced earth singer, rolled into one. I liked Barlow, but still is doing an amazing job on vocals, even his live performances are near perfect.
I think he is killer, don't get me wrong, but to me Matt will always be the voice of IE. If I can't have Matt, I will be more than happy with Stu. He is a killer vocalist, and I am glad Jon is letting him show his full chops on this album.

Iced Earth has the most epic intros. It´s sometimes too long, but it´s too epic to blame about it.
Based on the 3 songs so far, this album is shaping up to be far better than Plagues.

Lord Raging Iguana I would say that stu block is every previous iced earth singer, rolled into one. I liked Barlow, but still is doing an amazing job on vocals, even his live performances are near perfect.
I think he is killer, don't get me wrong, but to me Matt will always be the voice of IE. If I can't have Matt, I will be more than happy with Stu. He is a killer vocalist, and I am glad Jon is letting him show his full chops on this album.
