About 2 years ago I attended a Raven ceremony, taught by a couple of elders who in turn learned from a Native American shaman. The whole day, we integrated the lesson of the Raven, which is a guide of timelessness. The Raven represents it, teaches it- It's this settling into and immersing yourself in the present moment, a.k.a. timelessness, where you free yourself from dark thoughts, programs and beliefs- then you know true freedom. It was to my shock and great delight that Iced Earth made a tribute to this mystical animal.
Stu Block is a phenomenal lead singer. He has done an incredible job on Dystopia, Plagues Of Babylon, and especially Incorruptible. Matt Barlow will always be the classic lead singer for Iced Earth, but I am very happy that Stu Block is their lead singer, and I hope that he is the final lead singer for Iced Earth.
I never believed that there would be IE after Barlow... With all my respect, i was mistaken, they evolved and they still produce masterpieces for us and for that i am thankful beyond words.

My first thought is, what songs have YOU written lately? My second thought is, IE has been around since 88. It's inevitable they're going to re tread on certain ideas/sounds. EVERY band that has been around that long is guilty of this. At this point in IE's career, they are what they are. You either like what they do or quit bitching and find another band.
Great band and great song!! I absolutely love the album Incorruptible. Jon Schaeffer is one of the greatest songwriters ever. This is one band that I can always depend on putting out great music and they have never let me down.

I want to add, on those critics, that the songs who made us love Metal, are not only excellent works from the artistic point of view(remember great compositions of the classic music, with great number of instruments and the totality of the music means, technics and expression ways, that don't make any sense to us, because we cannot feel nothing at all listening to them, although they are classic- perfect works. They are not contemporary).At this point of view, the song creates from the begining a classical taste, so gives the promise that will be classic. Listening to it, touches the depths of the feelings , emotions and brain cells, and reminds us the reasons we loved metal music. The song is a metal jewel, at the part of music. But also has excellent- esoteric lyrics. The voice of Stu lifts an excellent song to the level of a masterpiece. The intellectual messages and meanings pass perfect, so as the emotional.
