Thank-you for posting the video. My airbag was involved in a recall. Just got the truck recently. I went to a local salvage yard and paid $25 for a steering wheel and airbag. Got lucky on my first try at the yard. The airbag in the first yard vehicle I checked was made by TRW, not Takata. The salvage yard truck was a 2004 and the airbag was dated 2016, so obviously a replacement airbag. I could have had it replaced for free at a dealer, but was not worth the hassle. All safe now, thanks again for the help.
Hey quick question, When replacing a deployed Airbag, is the AirBag light supposed to automatically go out Or it still needs reprogramming?? Its a 2000 Dodge Car. Thanks.
after you had removed the airbag, how did the wheel return to '12 & 6' position? you never said to do that. and thanks for mentioning the plugs were color coded to the airbag.
My 03 Ram 3500 had two screws that held the cruise control buttons on from the back they were small torx t15 I think once those were out the buttons can be moved and there are two large torxs bolts to remove the airbag.
On 96 dodge ram 1500 4x4 on bottom of clock spring there is a white plug with 5 wires the yellow w/red stipe mine was pulled out of plug when someone tried to steal truck no one shows up close that plug I need to know where yellow/red stripe goes
I use my Ram for plowing on my private property only and don't even have it insured or plated. With that said, I want to disable my airbag completely so it wont accidentally deploy while im plowing, how would I do that and will it still run without any faults?
