Marvellous rendition ! I'm just chuckling to myself as, with all your military training, routines and following orders etc. as soon as you put a guitar in someone's hand and they start playing Stairway...the inner demon comes out, eyes close, head back, foot on the monitor and they are immediately transported to Knebworth '79 playing to thousands......please continue !!!!

My father was in 43 Royal Marine Commandos during WW2. I grew up listening to his war stories. All the time growing up I remember him loving to listen to the Royal Marine band(s). This video just goes to show what the talent level is like in HM Royal Marines.Awesome.
My late father was also a proud Royal Marine. Drove landing craft at Sword beach during D-Day. Did not talk about it much, but Mum put a Marines badge on his memorial page at the crematorium when he died back in 1996.
@@eileendoyle4055 My father was also one of the marines who drove the landing craft , but he was at Gold. I worked in Belgium at the time of the D-Day 50th anniversary and I was tasked with hiring a mini bus and driving it around and I learned more about his service in the three days I was driving him and his flotilla members about than I had in the the previous 40 years.
Wow! British regiments gave great musicians and produce some fabulous tunes, but I never thought I’d ever see them have a go at tackling this one.. and pull it off so extraordinarily well!
A brilliant presentation. I love everything about it. But, and there is always a "but". Imagine this as a memory. About 1978 was camped at a beach (we were surfies), pitch black except for bright stars, moon and campfire. No drugs. Then I hear Led Zeppelin being played. Magical to my brain. My appreciation to the HM Royal Marines Band for this version.
Wow had the pleasure of seeing the Bands of the Royal Marines 42 years ago when I was 15 they came to my school they rocked then and they are still doing it now 👍
Outstanding performance. Pity there seems to be quite a few so called professionals in the comment section who are disrespecting this cover. None of you have probably even set foot in the Albert Hall, let alone played it. Keep rocking guys.
What a spine-tingling stunning performance. Such a rendition must be the dream of most musicians. Makes me even prouder of our wonderful Royal Marines and their first-class musicians.
Just love Sam's voice. Could listen to her singing for hours. Royal Marines Band are the best in the world in my personal opinion. Always loved watching and listening to them since I was young. Also having both my Great Uncle's serve in the Royal Marines, will always have a special place in my heart.
I've seen PF twice, this blew the doors off my house !! Had no idea these guys were even around. John Bonham is happy right now!!!. Don't know what I'd do without music, especially during this last year and a half. Stay well.
Anyone "criticizing" this is simply ignorant of the PURPOSE of military bands which have ALWAYS played popular tunes from whatever period they happened to exist. Why? Esprit de corps, recruitment, inspiration, et al.
I saw Led Zep play this in 79, and am well Impressed with this Cover of one of the most, if not the most classic Rock Tracks ever! Not a military person( actually the opposite), but respect for doing this and so well!. ✌🏽🌎✊🏽 Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦
I was at Knebworth in 79 🤘🏻this was a good, big, band cover of my favourite Led Zeppelin classic but nothing can compare to the original…well played though 👏🏻
BRAVI!!! Suonare un brano dei Led Zeppelin ci vuole coraggio e a voi non manca. Siete potenti come cannoni....ma i Led Zeppelin sono...bombe atomiche😘😘😘😘😘😘 .
Wow, One of my favourite song of all time, I think Robert, Jimmy and John Paul should contribute and release this track to help our military heroes... They give so much for us, we need to give to them.
Wonder indeed, considering Sam was heavily pregnant at the time (excused wearing of white belt) and from her Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan has seen a bit of action. Quite a lady.
Oh my oh my! As good as the original version in my eyes! Well done and much respect ladies and gentleman for not ruining an absolutely awesome song ❤ wow amazing, and amazing vocals too well done 👍👍👍❤

Well from a way word step-son across the ocean to the west. You men and women did that song justice, it doesn't matter were its from! That song in the US is damn near a church song!
Ms McIndoe after completing her 20/22 years will undoubtedly have a successful career as a soloist.
agree 100%
It's pretty cool to see a man in uniform shredding the guitar.
Sure is!

Nothing can touch the Royal Marines when it comes talent. 👍👍👍.

Great comment David
Lol he just couldn’t help himself 🤣🤣
He started a bit stiff due to the military training but couldn’t help himself once he got into the solo.
Knebworth 77? I was there!!!
Well said lol
seeing a soldier in uniform holding and playing a guitar instead of any weapon is really exciting. All good work really well done.
Every soldier in the British army is a trained warrior
Music has been a weapon for thousands of years
Those aren't soldiers. They're Marines.
@@paulworgan6599 and the world is better that way
@@paulworgan6599 Not so. Musicians are trained as medics not warriors. Their weapons are their instruments.
Sam is not only beautiful but also a beautiful singer. I like her poise and expressions! Bravo!
It's the glow of being heavily pregnant at the time....excused white belt.
…or why not rather: Sam is not only a beautiful/marvellous singer but also beautiful.
Ich weiß gar nicht wie ich es sagen soll. Ich bin tief beeindruckt von dieser Version meines absoluten L 1:59
No other band in the world could capture this....voice of a heroine
Love this, a great British song performed by our great British Royal Marines. Makes me proud, you guys nailed it 👏

This is played with the actual sheet music as it was written, absolutely perfect. This would have made Led Zeppelin proud. Incredible job!!!!!!!!
Probably the greatest military band in the world.
Brilliant. I was part of the Royal Navy Display Team Earls Court 1984. The Marines would play Level 42 in the bar at night. They were superb.
Was there in 84. Queens Colour Squadron. Amazing talent 😊

Led Zepplin would be proud, it gave me goosebumps. Brilliant.
Gosh, goosebumps here too! Excellent !
Nah, they'd be rather ashamed they wouldn't have the song performed like this ;o)
Her voice is incredible.
Pretty ok, but didn't use it that well for this song, need more character, to much open mouth in transitions. But great performance of them all!
Oh boy, I've listened to many renditions of Stairway but this one really gave me goosebumps. Absolutely brilliant 👏👏
Exactly. Two of us here in India say the same!
