To be honest most EVs have had many recurring issues, there are probably thousands of videos on here alone about them, and many people have been warning about them for years, but those who supposedly know better decided to believe the hype instead and go and buy an EV. IF you put it that way, all motor manufacturers have been effectively told they have to sell EVs. I don't think most of them actually wanted to given the choice. It's well documented how much money they're all losing from lack of sales.
As much as I feel the same way as most (and I'm a Jag owner too), I kind of understand it. The current range wasn't making much and probably being carried by the LR part of the JLR group to a large extent, so they probably didn't have much to lose. If you're going to go for it you might as well go all in.
I think the sad thing is most of us knew the EV industry wasn't going to take off in the way most in the business hoped it would, as many of us suggested years ago once everybody who wants an EV has bought one, that's your lot. But I think it was in hope rather than anticipation. It's a niche product. You're not going to sell many more and only incentives, subsidies and fleet purchases have got the EV trade this far.
Who knows, they might find a niche market in the right places. The likes of Ferrari and etc. keep going and Jaguar were never really the mass market brand that ford and Tata originally tried to turn them into, so maybe repositioning themselves will work. Can't see it myself but what do I know.

Hi Simon. This isn’t new news! Jaguar announced this ages ago and as far as I know have stopped ALL petrol cars. When I go to my main dealer now there are no new Jags on display and just a dwindling stock of used ones outside. There are empty desks in the showroom as staff, obviously reading the writing on the wall, have left. I have been saying in these comments for ages Jaguar are dead. It’s a tragedy - in recent years they’ve made some great cars that have been massively underrated - particularly the F Pace - a brilliant SUV. I run an SVR and it’s a stunning machine, I bought it because it was Jaguar’s last hurrah, their last proper stupidly fast car. I love it. But now it’s all over. The iPace was a flop (though I think one of the best looking EVs) If they think they’re going to resurrect their fortunes with some massively overpriced EV they are delusional. I have brought this up with the dealer a lot (they are a great bunch of people) and whilst my statements are met with non committal remarks you can see they really agree. It’s a tragedy to see this fabulous marque commit suicide on the altar of net zero!!

The 550 ps supercharged V8 is a great engine, been around for a long time so initial reliability problems fixed. (eg Nikasil cylinder liners now cast iron, plastic chain tensioners now metal). Instant torque and a nice subtle whine from the supercharger. 3rd gear pull from 20 feels like most cars in first gear but goes on and on with the torque building to max at 3000 rpm and it just goes on and on. You have to look out or you are doing illegal speed very quickly. Between 28 and 31 mpg on a long journey beats my old XJ which was just 240ps, less than half the power and less efficient. This just shows how ICE technology has improved over the years.

Absolutely spot on Simon. Ignoring the usual naysayers who know little about the brand and the cars, they still make some superb cars. I own a 2010 XF and it's fantastic. Well it's a 3 litre diesel so it is the work of the devil, but it's quick, comfortable, reliable (yes I did say reliable, heard the alternative view time and again, usually from people who have never set foot in one), still a great looking car and wipes the floor with any EV costing double the price.
But the ones most fans of the brand talk about the most are the 4.2 and 5 litre engine ones, the supercharged models and so on. Same car, same body shape, it's the power plant that makes them so highly rated amongst owners and enthusiast. In the US, Jaguar killed it by scrapping all but the 2 litre model of the XF and then nobody wanted one.
The point is with an EV, you don't have to pay upwards of £100k to get a rapid car. But it's not a V6 or a V12. A £10 fake exhaust note gadget does not replace a V12 soundtrack. An electric motor does not replace a V12 power unit. That's what people wanted, what kept the brand going. So even if you have the money, even if the car is ultra reliable, has a range of 500+ miles and can recharge in 5 minutes, why would you buy one when you can have the same acceleration, the same fake exhaust note in a £30K (fake) MG? It won't work. It can't work. There's no unique selling point, take the V12 out and you take the USP away for good.
