I love Bob Dylan. I grew up in sixties with Bob Dylan. Have seen him in concert at least 20 times.❤
Always loved this performance of "I Remember You".
Bob is on the good stuff -nothing but good energy and soul - He is on top of the game here :). Love this iteration of Bob . And no better backing band on planet earth than heartbreakers
Funny thing is, the critics in the 80s were called Dylan old, used up,a sell out and past his prime
damn!.....Bob looks genuinely happy!!😄....this is great!!!
Back in the 70/80's these epic concert events used to be mostly reported via small pictures accompanying written articles found within rock magazines. We all had to use our musical imaginations to envision these shows. The internet has certainly been very kind to all of us classic Dylan lovers.
I started drinking around noon that day and blacked out before the concert came on TV. My girlfriend hated Dylan and didn't wake me up! It has been more than 35 years but I have finally seen the set at Farm Aid!
@@barrymccollom2303Keep drinking, yeah?
The greatest songwriter of all time sings 2 rather obscure covers, 2 brand new songs off of Empire Burlesque, and only one "classic Dylan song". And I love every second. Bob is the best. He does what he wants.
Perfectly put
Il a toujours fait ce qu'il veut et c'est vachement bien !
Around this time, Dylan and the Heartbreakers recorded the title track for a movie called Band Of The Hand. And after seeing the positive response to this performance here at Farm Aid, the next summer they embarked on The True Confessions Tour. I saw it and it was great.
This isn't Bob Dylan and friends. This is Bob Dylan with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and there is Willie Nelson playing behind Dylan.
There are some interesting duets with his future mother-in-law Madelyn Quebec in I'll Remember You and Trust Yourself. She is the mother to Carolyn Dennis who gave birth to Dylan's daughter in January 1986, he married her in June 1986. Carolyn Dennis is the backup singer in the striped blouse in this September 1985 performance. You can tell that Ms Dennis is around five months pregnant.
this is Dylan's friends and family then...,, and thanks for the info, I was wondering who the lady on the duet was...
Interesting what you said
@@pedromuniz7078How many rock stars end up playing onstage with their mother in law?
This 1985 Farm Aid concert recording is 1,000 times better quality than the 2023 recordings online today. Tnx, muchly for posting
Bob seems very happy here. Great gig!
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers: Not only great in their own right but also acted as the backing band for legends Bob Dylan & Johnny Cash.
One of the best Bands in History of music, I miss the Great Tom Petty
Kids. This is what it's like to go to a concert, to be in the moment, not talking crap to your friends and pointing phones in the air all night. Today's world sucks.
Looks like he was having a good time. Nice to see. And what a great bunch of musical talent on the stage. Awesome post , thank you.
I was there - about 20 feet from the front of the stage.
Thats awsome.
Wow!! 😊❣️
Spectacular. Thanks for posting. I heard this live over the radio at the time, taped it, and said to myself, Dang! They are on fire! Dylan is back! Youl could hear the joy coming over the radio! I also said , Man, that is his backing band!
Great music and backup band
They're having fun. On top of his game.
I LOVE YOU BOB DYLAN
Just Incredibil capacity Bob to remember all those lines ? Tunes ? How the hell is possible?
I had this on video back in 1985 taped from the TV. Great to see it on RUclips. Thanks for uploading this 👏👍
I did too
This was the good old Bob that I am used to..
Wish I saw this live. Great sound....
Love Bob and Tom - such riveting performances / epic!
Thanks for posting this. It was great!!!❤❤❤
How i love this..love this times in his 80is recordings ..and all his record is soooo great..love all...saw him in 2022 i Copehagen..he blow my mind ..was just soooooo good ..
Fantastic sound and vision quality; good job phil
Bob and Tom can't get any better than that!
Love him and his genius music
Best version of Maggie's Farm!
1965 Newport. Michael Bloomfield.
@@Anthony-hu3rj Bloomfield is great on that version, but I think it's underdeveloped and just thrown together quickly. Other electric versions didn't work live either in 65. Listen to it aint me babe. Dylan didn't get his live electric sound together until 66, which is probably the greatest rock music ever made.
Thank you
So good...
Hurts so good..
Mercy!!! thoughts just left me.
I Think this was a good time in Bob's life.
roll around heaven all day
Maravilhoso ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Good 'ol Howie Epstein on bass...RIP
And rip the Great Tom Petty too
i loved Howie
Fera do rok ❤❤❤❤❤
He looks like he is having fun .
That back up singer is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Best Maggie’s Farm version I’ve heard.
Greatest singer of Freedom!!
YEAH BOB HONEY YOU AND THIS FOLKS ARE THE BEST
Bob Dylan, desejo a vc e família e toda sua banda, muita saúde e muitos anos de vida, saudações aqui do Brasil.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB HONEY
Great to see this, sharing the mic with his soon to be second wife, Carolyn Dennis, who is carrying their child together, Desiree (born in January 1986)
The duet partner is Madelyn Quebec, the mother of Carolyn Dennis.
no its his mother in law he sings with.Carolyns mother.
It was better back then. Now the crowd might break into a fight over vaccination. Crazy sad times. It was a more unified country then.
Wish I had a dollar for every time I've watched this. So much to love here...everyone giving it their all and making great music!
Nice nice nice
"Dylan joins Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers (who have just concluded their own set) on stage. Together they launch straight into “Clean-Cut Kid” followed by a blues song called “Shake,” seemingly a Dylan lyric set to the rune of Roy Head’s “Treat Her Right.” Then comes the live debuts of two Empire Burlesque songs, “I’ll Remember You” and “Trust Yourself,” both of which have Dylan dueting with Madelyn Quebec, who is clearly struggling to keep up with his idiosyncratic phrasing. A searing version of “That Lucky 0l’ Sun” follows, before Willie Nelson joins them on guitar for a romp through the highly appropriate “Maggie’s Farm.” Although the American TV broadcast, courtesy of the Nashville Network, manages to omit the first and fifth songs and cut the second, the excitement of the performance comes across, reaffirming Dylan’s power in concert after the very public disaster at “Live Aid ” The buzz from the concert is enough for him to suggest a more longterm collaboration with the Heartbreakers.
"
~Clinton Heylin (Bob Dylan: A Life in Stolen Moments Day by Day 1941-1995)
Don`t feel Madelyn struggling with anything.
@@helenawf Yep, it's amazing how Heylin manages to disparage women in almost every sentence he writes
I thought the Duets where the best part of the set!! And I saw them twice on that tour.
@@helenawf
Clearly shes struggling
@@matthewbiggs3620 just proving he has the deeper insight and discernment
nice "Aqualung" ending on Maggie's Farm

for the LIVE AID
Show 😬
but man I want attempt to write his words
‘ Shake ‘
awesome Obscure
I like the last name of Philbin because I was very close to them to a guy name Philbin when I was in fifth grade in Boy Scout camp. (1965).
When I've forgotten all the rest.
YEAH YOU FOLKS ARE THE BEST
Cool
Did you copy my subscription list buddy? ✌💀🌷

Very cool. Dylan is in great form here.
eggman615 hmm
As animated as I ever seen Dylan
Filipino lady. Hmm. Bob rocking those days
I thought they started with "Clean Cut Kid", but it is not included.
Clean cut kid is a great song.....
♥ WEN BOBBY DANCES !!! xxxooo
Nice concert
Bob is in a great form.He is a great singer and genius 😂❤
Is this Sara?Both are beautiful.
HD!
I trust more in God than in myself, honestly! Even God does not trust his angels!
is that the backup singer he married?
Believe it or not she was his future mother in law Madelyn Quebec. He married Carolyn Dennis who is in the striped top.
I read where he was seen after 10 years (lol ??) running errands and wearing a wedding ring
Has he remarried?
So nice seeing him smile, better times I guess
Miles better than Live aid...
I wholeheartedly agree thank godess god for tom and his band
Absolutely- although the bar was set incredibly low with his Live Aid debacle. That was such a disappointment after the whole day leading up to him- felt so let down
Whats the name of the first song? Never heart that one.
Shake
Possibly the only person who could upstage TOM PETTY!!!😂🤣😂
..'& Friends' ??....theres no need , but why didnt you name them Johnny Fillbin??
I love this, I just can't stand to see two people singing int5o the same microphone. it gives me cringies.
He looks like Adam Sandler
I think none of those likes to drink, neither weed or coca.
☺️
A kind of president.president could have three
The legend that is Willie Nelson looks so out of place here.
He sounds like Kermit the Frog.
They should do a Farm Aid for the farmers next time. Not for Bob's gardeners and landscapers.
