    I love the smile on the face of Tony Garnier, Dylan's bass player at the sheer genius and beauty of the harmonica solo on It Aint Me Babe. Magical.

    • @jimmccue8063
      @jimmccue8063 Год назад

      Yes, Garnier is always aware of what he's playing beside, really listening, with ears attuned by having heard so many previous performances, and here, I think, he's laughing at the comedy and chutzpah of blasting that intimate squawking of the harmonica out to tens of thousands of people. Yet from what I've read they are not really *friends*? I wonder.

      @ Ernesto Maybe. I finished it and sold it. It came out beautiful. I know it's goshe but I painted it a cadillac color (it was a raisin metallic with black leather interior). The thing was a rocket... I'd eat 350 Chevy's light to light, all day and all night... They'd be so pissed "WTF?!!! That's just a 289! Let's go again"! My oldest daughter was so mad at me when I sold it. She thought she was gonna get it. I told her if she wants a car, she can go buy one herself. I told her I'd help her restore her Mustang and teach her what she needed to know but she ran off to University and she settled for a little Honda something or other. That 'Stang was a killer. I may restore another one, one of these days. Love those Mustangs!

    Inspiration after seeing Bob Dylan’s Woodstock 1994 show.
    Just been watching a wonderful concert thanks to “You Tube posters”.
    Bob Dylan at Woodstock '94.
    It starts off in his inimitable style of doing his tunes in recent times, some almost reworked but the outcome all the same. Totally absorbing.
    Yes, I too, have been knocked out of my “comfort zone & blanket of security” which formed part of how I remember those wizened, informative, enlightened, almost “sacred tunes” played in the past & I admit that it took quite some “reworking in my own head”, to be able to be relaxed enough, to understand the wonderful nuances introduced by Bob, during these re moulding of some of the greatest words in song. But once I’d shed my own sign of “discrimination towards them”, I was able to enjoy their new presentation & in fact relish the changes I heard.
    The show, for that is what it is, starts off much like life. Difficult to grasp & often to comprehend. It then develops into drawing you into the journey & then, opens unashamedly, like a wondrous bloom revealing itself to you, in all its glory and in its own way. It is after all, for you to decide whether to jump on or be left behind. For those who ran with it, its rewards were numerous & revealing. The audience was surprisingly silent in its respect & appreciation during the 'ballads' & roared in appreciation of the classic Dylan gems. Even though they were very different to those early presentations, those with a fine ear could bear witness to the hints of them, as if peeping from behind the veil.
    Yes, he was himself, buoyed in his revelation & those who danced, watched or listened, re baptised & enlightened.
    Life is much like that. Often uncompromising in its giving but as large as life itself can be. Some stay for the fullness of the ride, some leave when they hear the call. However, it Blesses one and all in equal quantities. The difference being, some allow theirs to fall on barren ground, some forget to nurture it into the fullness of its bloom and bearing. While those sufficiently eager & aware, wear these gifts like stars, to spread their knowledge and light, like the rising of the sun.
    I am thankful that there are those like Bob Dylan, who realised his great gift of “Revelation in Words” and that I supped at that table, much like I did on my “Walk of Wonder & Gratitude, in this Life”.
    John Knottenbelt. 8th May, 2016.
    In grateful thanks for that which has been bestowed on my ears, eyes & mind, so far as that which is yet to come. Also that I have been able to share of it with those who were likewise aware. Never forget that knowledge is at its strongest when SHARED.

    To my mind, this was the first of Dylan's great bands of the 1990's till now. The lineups have changed, and I've seen them all, but they all have something that is just beyond what you expect from a live band. They all blow your mind, in different ways. I could watch this version of Highway 61 Revisited for the rest of my life and be ok. But then there are so many other fantastic versions of the same song it's ridiculous.

    Just an incredible performance. Played a lot of guitar during that time period. Lately has shifted to keyboards. Unfortunately, very few of the commenters either are young, haven’t followed his entire career , don’t know that he has been on his never ending tour for about 30 years. Although I’m thrilled that younger audiences are checking out “ the real deal” , I’d advise doing a little homework. Plus all of you who are musicians know how monotonous it can be to play the same song the same way over and over, year after year. It’s a testament to his restless soul that he constantly changes up the arrangements. Which is why he is fortunate to have the great Tony Garnier as his bassist and musical director for all these years. He is one of the best bassists anywhere, anytime and the one true constant. Regarding the drummer, its tricky. When playing to hundreds of thousands of people, one does need to rock. I think he fits, but that’s for Bob to decide. Phenomenal show!!
