Think of a musician nowadays, standing up on stage before you, belting out a setlist like this. It’s absolutely unthinkable. And to think this man, 39 years later, is still writing jaw-dropping songs like this! Whether or not you’re a huge fan of his, it can’t be denied that the songs he’s written and continues to write are American classics. His words will be crooned for as long as humanity exists. A legend in the truest sense of the word. Thank GOD I’ve seen the man a number of times live. It’s like being in the same room as Beethoven or Whitman, DaVinci, or Shakespeare. We are so blessed! But nowhere as much as this man’s pen and typewriter was. Thank you Bob! “I’ll be with ya through and through.”

I was 10 in 1976 and already an avid Bod Dylan fan, no matter what anyone else said I played his music loud and proud and sang along in my own little world. I still do that today, I dreamed of seeing him in concert for my whole life, and in November of 2019 he came to Providence, RI. My son-in-law and I were fortunate enough to get the last 2 seats, he took me for an early Christmas present and we were both in our glory as he is just as big a fan as me. Upon leaving the theater we were blessed with the opportunity to walk along side Bob Dylan's tour bus, it was a very large but unassuming brown beauty. Unfortunately the windows were all black and we couldn't see him, but we'll still say we walked along side Bob at a distance of less than 10 feet, what an awesome ending to a tremendously exciting night. The only that could top that would be to actually meet Bob Dylan in person and speak to him some day.

For a while in the 70's my roommate, Pegi, was "dating" Neil Young. Neil dropped by often. They got married by and by. Went with the territory.

More impressive is her soul, heart, guitar and voice get well songs to John Prine, then suffering after cancer treatment and apparently hosting coronavirus 19 before transitioning. Joan Baez in her kitchen with a guitar and some chicken soup for a fallen 'worker in song.' She credits Prine with having written some of the most requested songs in her wide multi-lingual repertoire. She ain't no songwriting slouch, either. Bless ya, Joan, blessed spirit of sis Mimi for all her good works with Bread & Roses and transitioning too young, and surely in blessed memory and continuing spirit in songs of John Prine...

I mean, there are many lyricists and composers (serious ones) out there, French, Spanish, British... who also sell millions of records. Nevertheless, none of them approaches the impact and relevance that Mr. Dylan has had in society along his more than sixty years on stage, delivering his message to humankind.

I saw RTR on this leg, in Houston, and it was an incredible show with Willie Nelson opening the second half. I've read though, that the troupe had a miserable time. Dylan was divorcing and subsequently changed the show, his hat and his sense of play. Baez has written about it. Somehow everyone pulled together come showtime.

me too. The 76 seem to harken back to the folk days, stripped down, where he might've finally laid down the sword and gave enjoyable justice to his pre-electric stuff. 75 has the artistic embellishments, which have their own value sure, but you know..... sometimes you just want to hear someone belt it out and play straight ahead!

An absolute gift to behold : Mr Tambourine Man seems to be a kaleidoscope of Bob’s inner feelings like craving for time out of mind. Bobby Newhart whom Dylan knows for 1200 yrs although humorous , causes Bob to break the song with an OOH ! Dylan is more the genius 🎼 Merci for post.

It is noted in wikipedia that rehearsals for the spring leg were held in Clearwater, Florida during April, and the first show was on April 18 at the Civic Center in Lakeland, Florida. (Performances by Dylan and Baez during the Clearwater rehearsals were taped and aired on The Midnight Special.)

I am the farthest thing in the world from a soft-hearted, sentimental man, but fifteen minutes of this, with that angel Joan, and I felt my face begin to melt in some strange way, and I was grateful, then, that it was only tears, only my terminal anger, and not some more desperate need.

This is GOLD. Thankfully I did get to see Bob & The Band at MSG 2 years earlier but I wish I had the chance to see him in a smaller venue like this. I had a buddy when we were in our teens back in the early 70s, who with me, we were the big Dylan freaks in SHeepshead Bay Brooklyn. We used to lock our other friends in his bedroom and not let anyone out until they heard Desolation Row, Visions.... and other classics over and over until they admitted they loved it. This would take 2 or 3 hours and several bowls of Colombian weed. WHat a blast.

Have seen Mr. Dylan 19 times and he always delivers. He also has good opening acts, because his fans deserve it. And while he does mix his arrangements and does not pick up a guitar anymore, it isn't all about that. I call myself a writer (lyricist) and can appreciate his wide array of genres and interests. Last year , there was an art exhibition of his paintings and sculpture in Miami, FL It was fantastic , I had no idea just how talented an artist he is. Definitely check it out if you have an opportunity to do so. I will be going to my next show on March 2'nd in Florida. I last saw him in NYC at the Beacon Theatre... He does not have to be an aquired taste as i now see young (twenties) guys and gals attending shows. Imagine that, I first went to see him in 1978 when he was touring supporting his amazing Street Legal album. (i think unfairly reviewed) I love that work... There are so many of his songs and albums that I like, I cant begin to list which ones are my favorites. At any given time, i have his songs in my thoughts daily. It's kinda' funny, my wife and I have been separated over 10 yrs.(hey, that's not the funny part!) and she is not as big a fan as I am, but she knows alot of his songs b/c i played them so often. Even my son went to see him about 10 yrs ago. He just wanted to be able to say that he saw him. My family esp. two of my brothers and their wives are heading to their 35'th show of his. So as his career continues, I can unequivocally say that I have seen the greatest "Song and dance man" to ever exist. (Dylan decscribing how he might describe himself in an interview from the early 60's)
I dont know what I would ask him if I got a chance to meet him. There are so many questions that I would literally have to go over it for days or weeks or longer. I used to think I knew, but it would always change, so instead, I would just ask whatever popped out of my mouth and hope its not something stupid. Loved the version of Diamonds and Rust (and like somebody commented... "to think she pulled that off knowing Bob was waiting in the wings") Very cool. So I was just looking to kill some time by listening to some music and/or watch some videos when i came across this. So glad I did. This is fantastic. Check out 16:13, nice! Thank you for posting this, going back to watching... -Alias

Anyway, like I say, I can understand your feeling. I'm assuming you're young. I wonder what it's like for some older people seeing this. I'm 60 but it doesn't mean much to me as my feelings for Bob don't have much to do with how he looks, but i know that's not the case for some people (especially females it seems - and I mean that as a simple statement of fact, with no negative connotations)
