It's strange to hear James Hetfield singing Megadeth. 😁
I love how little Matt's screams keep startling him.
Travis had that St Anger snare before Lars ever thought of trying it.
Too much people annoyed of that snare sound, personally I like it
@@aedanj.kaplan2440 Same here. It only sounds good if it's done properly.
Slipknot had it too....St Anger was all about following the nu metal trends. That snare, drop C, no guitar solos
Travis was an amazing drummer, and I’ve missed him ever since he’s been out of the band, the only other drummer that comes close in triviums albums is the newest one they have. He’s been rocking it.
@@BiRDiEHere It's a cool snare. But St Anger didn't just do it well
Hey Matt, so awesome that your shared your early recordings! I just turned 16 and post covers on RUclips, Megadeth being one of my favourites! I just posted Five Magics, huge fan of yours as well and will definitely do one of your songs! This was a inspiration to me🤘🤘
Your a killer on the drums man. I’m so jealous.
I’m 36 and feel your same energy on guitar.
Imagine how many bands got inspired by Trivium, so young and gifted with talent
Trivium made me want to play drums when I was 10. (Ascendency era)
Now I play in 3 bands!
Age is irrelevant to success. But they definitely started a good era
Trivium still inspires me at 36.
Nice to hear Matt's young voice. I love Head on Collision
Head on collision is a hidden gem.
@18:49 "My asshole aroused, all I see is blood" I can't be the only one who hears this?
Matt at 13: I wasn’t good at guitar yet
Me at 32: 😳
Exactly what I thought lmao
that hurt ahhaha
Just hit 32 this year and I'd love to be Matt at "I aint good yet" 13 year old Heafy.
I started guitar at 12 and got to his level around 18. It takes LOTS of practice and had to lock myself in a room for 3-4 hours a day to achieve this. Proof is on my channel. I’m not saying this to brag at all, I’m only saying it because you can do it also. If you really really want it, put the same effort
When Matt said "I wasn't good yet, at guitar", I was sitting over here like "MAN STOP SOME BULLSHIT"!
It would be so badass if the current Trivium lineup recorded all of the original songs from before Ember To Inferno, I think! I’d definitely buy it!
Matt's reaction at 1:22 is everything
I cannot tell you how much I need:
1: All of Blitzkrieg so I can learn it
2: A re-recording of it, War and Black Rain
I have such a hard-on for the old-school E thrash style
Totally agree!!!
Matt was better at vocals at 13, than I am at 17 😂
I love that he gets surprised at his own uncleans haha
It literally sounds like Megadeth with James Hetfield on vocals.
Amazing.
This is amazing Matt!
You should release Blitzkrieg, it's just so good
Matt scares himself with those growls haha
take a shot everytime Matt says "thirteen"
I tride an nw im durnkq
@@xSTONYTARKx based
Crazy how far everyone’s come.
I like how Matt always got surprised by his own vocals LUL
I bet he listens to Shogun demos from time to time and thinks "SHIT, I WAS AMAZING".
I unironically like the guitars and the overall "recorded on a rock" feel. Part of why I love Ember and the Blue Demo so much! Also PLEASE PLEASE release these demos! This is G-O-L-D, no joke!
"Zip drives". That made me feel old as hell..
The kick tone everyone looks for.
Man, i've always wanted them to re-record Thrust, i would listen to that song all day, if the quality didn't fuck my ears
Wdym it's great as it is
Miss Brent bud. He was an awesome guy. I am glad to have had his memory in a major part of my life. Sometimes paths cross for purpose we do not know, but become forever. RIP Brent and Matt Thankyou!
Another Grammy Nomination on the way.
"I wasn't good yet at guitar"
Still better than I am after 10 years of playing 😒
A year late and still 11 years behind lol
You should get Travis to come back for a small tribute stream for brent man?
The snare was so loud my mic was picking it up on discord
Still impressed with the groove. Wow, I would listen to that, they should re-record this
Damn those growls are aggressive
Man hope Travis is good. Haven't heard anything about him in a long time. In other news, this was fun to watch.
I love the reaction.😂 The shock from the scream. Hahah The 😬 constantly.😂 Despite the early stages, you guys showed alot of potential.
You pull all the same faces as I do when I listen back to my first stuff. Except ours was more like five blind dudes playing their instruments for the first time...and our instruments were actually umbrellas! We have all been playing umbrellas for 30 years and no one told us.
BOY TRIVIUM HAS COME A LOOOOOOONG WAY! LMAO!! Will always remember seeing you guys in the local days
Went from these demos, like we all start out doing, to writing Ascendancy in not even a large amount of time later.. What talent Mr. Heafy is (and the rest of the other gents as well!)
That first song reminds me of "thrust" from ruber on AB initio
a lot of old folks could get offended by your comment.
Matt, to be honest, that records still sounds great.
Maybe not "This Love" 😆
*WHO'S!!!!* to say what's for me to do
This is the proof that hard work always pays off no matter what! Cheers from Greece!
I definitely would love a modern day rendition of blitzkrieg that riff is awesome
Ooooorale!! Who's that singer? Get him back in Trivium NOW!!
It’s me. Haha
@@matthewkheafy Hearing the progression from the first demo to the Ember demos is awesome dude! Thanks for the top tier content Matt. This is the stuff!! 🤘
James Hetfield raspy voice + Max Cavalera scream haha
Lmao right??? Its Max Hatfield
Para tener esa edad Matt tocaba MUY bien.. Increible 😮😮😮
I was a judge at the Crane's Roost battle of the bands. I remember being super impressed.
you are brilliant Matt!! a few months more before seeing you live in Netherlands!
I love Tempura!
Jajaj q bueno escuchar esos comienzos de trivium. Aguante Trivium! Espero en algún momento se den una vuelta por la Argentina. Mira q tenemos fama de la mejor inchada los argentinos
Sounds like early Hetfield!!!!!!! The song is a banger!!!!!
If you can get footage of battle of the bands that would be amazing!!
Travis played the bongos? Love the Music Man. I wish I wasn't "that good".
The first cover my band played together was For Whom the Bell Tolls and Domination!
you should re record all those covers again & put them in one album !👌🤘🤘
Younger Matt Heafy sounded even more like James Hetfield lol
quite normal to sing like someone else before own sound
Man makes sense - Hetfield is an influence for pretty much any up and coming metal and rock singer.
Personally, I think he sounded way better than Hetfield from 2007 to 2009.
ZIP drives 😂😂 OMG, those were the SHIT back in the day.
hetfield sings tornado of souls lol
what if Tornado Of Souls was on ...And Justice For All+St. Anger snare
It's awesome that you kept the really early stuff it just proves the hard work you dude's put into everything and as fan like us all on here we love you for it 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🥃🥃🥃🥃
You have come a long way and only part the way there! Keep Going!! ( No way back just through)😘
Thanks for bringing this out. It's awesome hearing this. Now if we can get that talent show or botb video that you've mentioned. Frontman, rhythm and lead at 13 is great dude. Youngsters in that pic.
that blue EP is damn good!
This is awesome!
so awesome .. thanks for this
Blitzkrieg, War, and Black Rain on Trivium 10? Haha JK... unless?
Hand on heart I'll buy 10 vinyl copies
@@NuclearRockstarMD I’d buy it so fuckin quick
DO IT MATT PLS
Wow. Matt sounds so new at vocals. Lmao. Still sounds good.
Damn Matt taking shots at Kirk lol
Crazy to think you were probably recording this between classes and lacrosse practice with my brother.
Jesus you said zip drives and it took me back to college..... thanks for that man!
The Pantera This Love was something.
So funny when you hear you voice when young
Man, if you're interested in playing metal at any age, you learn "For whom the bell tolls" it's like a right of passage.
Alice does chains covering this love by tempora 😂😂😂
You've got some real radio dj skills hahahah
"I wasn't good yet at guitar"
Yeah right :D
My Hatred still holds up so well
War sounds like an early Slayer song to me
My Hatred... best song on ember in my opinion. Love it!
Hilarious narrative on this love, great cover!
It's so rad that you can share this! .... even tough the drums are tupperware
thx for the amazing stories!
I always wanted Trivium to cover Tornado of Souls.
03:41 "This is Kirk Hammett playing on a Megadeth cover" Ouch xD
Want the blue demo! Been listening to ember again recently, takes me back to when you opened the Saturday at download fest, surprise announcement. Would love to hear the story behind that. I met you in the crowd when you were watching other bands later in the day!
It's on the special edition of ab inito.
Awesome that the first demo was Tornado of Souls 🤘🏼🔥
The bass in for whom the bell tolls sounds like a cello :D
"I wasn't good at guitar yet"
What I wouldn't give for a remake of Demon
Definitely release the stuff from when you were getting into death metal!
The solo in tornado of souls sounds like a solo from shogun
Swap your Boss unit out for a Yamaha MD8 and this is an almost carbon copy of my origin story haha! The exception being you were good enough to make it a career. LOVE THIS STUFF!
its weird to think that Matt is still in that same band
thats when u know hes the real deal
So the question “What would Scott Stapp sound like if he tried to be metal?” is finally answered 😂
You cam HEAR the hetfield influence in his voice in the tornado of souls cover
Man I remember bootlegging the demo songs off some random myspace page in like 2005 haha.
*except that power metal version of Sworn. Re-recording plz haha
I have the For Whom the Bell Tolls demo!
Brandon King put that shit out!
And now he did sing this live with Megadeth 🙏 what s circle.
That was awesome.. Thanks for sharing
if matt shaved his beard he'd look pretty much the same, maybe just a tad beefier
@@BiRDiEHere cheers
such a class to be able listening this after years and recall old memories ♠️
Love how during the solo you say you were good yet lmao. You did good!
Some serious Dissection influence on that first part of blitzkrieg
that first song kinda sounds like it could be a godsmack song. you sound like sully erna
