saying there was no noticeable bass or whatever is absolutely wild because the bass was going insane on this

The bass was the first thing that popped out to me when I first heard it. Paulo had a very apparent part in the first half of the song

Shogun was an unexpected masterpiece especially since their previous albums, altho good, haven't shown an indication that Trivium would grow so much in complexity as a band. Such a great band.

For me, the picture these lyrics always painted was about the furor and frenzy of an ancient battlefield, the reality seeping in that you are not on a hero's journey to slay beasts, but rather you are the animal in an abattoir.
Also, shoutout to Shogun. From the album called...Shogun!

This, but also bent to the soldiers on today's battlefields, coming home, unable to adjust to the civil world. There is nothing to fight there, no glory to gain here nor there, just your memories and wounds and the fact that now you need to deal with them.

Awesome!! Trivium are so underrated imo. I think Caustic Are The Ties That Bind, The Deceived, Torn Between Scylla & Charybdis or Declaration could be a side of Trivium he could enjoy more.

Hey Judson thank you so much for your kind message regarding my comment on the noose video. Did you ever get into bright eyes as well as Elliot Smith? Kinda shows you what kind of alcoholic I was about a decade ago listening to them and APC on repeat.
Amazing t shirt as always Richard!

I've seen a comment from a veteran saying this song helped him, reminding him there aren't any battles here back after the military, because even after he came home he still felt like he was in the battle.
I think personally for me it means we, as a society, chronically online - always looking for battles to fight and new things to hate, and for what? It's not like most of these things people hate on matter, or people are even trying to have an impact, they just want something to talk about and be seen doing.

I was really into these guys but they lost me with the In Waves album as just felt a bit too formulaic. I was at their Download Festival set at Castle Donnington in '06 and was blown away by Heafy's stage presence and ability for someone so young. This song was pretty good but in my opinion, still not a patch on that earlier thrashy stuff.
Definitely show him something from Ascendency, just not Dying In Your Arms please!

That’s the one song I will definitely avoid. I love A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation and Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr. Will for sure do both of those at some point.

yeus i couldn't agree more with the son of Jud about the generic veneer of trivium's sound generally speaking. not much from the bass, not much colour to the vocals, lacks detail, not the greatest melodies etc. feast of fire is a banger mind you. sum neat noodling and a catchy chorus to boot. will say this is the only trivium album i like- it's so consistent, and very digestible somehow.

Lol the bass is extremely busy in this song...
