Amazing 1898 Titan elevator in Copenhagen Denmark with terrible inner door

I dont know if you have ever been in old buildings in Barcelona, but so many of them has this & older versions of these still functional. The one in my apartment building was so old even some of the most permanent residents were not dare to use it. I recommend you to check old buildings in Barcelona out in case you go there. Also I have seen many (not as much) buildings with those elevators in Lisbon as well.

I think the memory button system was added later. I think the first memory system on an elevator was not till the late 1920s if I remember correctly from the history books (Otis pioneered it at St Lukes Hospital) It appears that travel cable at the bottom that powers is also much newer, likely it was a replacement.

They could, at least, have tried to use period correct inner doors. For instance, manual double doors made of wood and glass to match the rest of the cabin. Instead they ruined the whole elevator.

This elevator should have had glass innerdoors with a wooden frame, like how it probably was originally. These innerdoors are a bit bodged and don't do it justice.
