Awesome video. My husband rode many elevators like this in Europe when he was a kid. Elevator cabs there usually had no inner doors. The doors on each floor often had a window so you could see when the elevator was coming and a handle to manually pull the door open. Automatic doors were quite rare. Fortunately these manual doors had electrically activated locks so they could only be opened when the elevator was actually at your floor. People there liked to call them "lifts".
Janet Walton That’s actually really cool and interesting!
Amazing elevator!
That is a TINY lift cab, but fun to ride!!
Nice!
EPIC elevator y'all
Those doors are really cool with the curved top
Back in the day, I guess they recycled unused coffins, turn them into elevator cabs.
Very cool.
Very nice elevator
This was an impressively fun elevator, and I also happened to encounter & ride it in Copenhagen this summer. I do have a question: how long ago was the automatic panel installed? It didn't look quite turn-of-the-century but it feels so old still.
Denmark has interesting elevators
Why doesn’t America have inner doorless elevators like in Europe?
Because we are such a sue happy culture.
