Thanks for all the tips and comments responses throughout the year
You're welcome, and thanks for commenting!
A Testify Strength video that is 19 mins? What? Great video as usual and you actually ended it with Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays. Good man! Thanks for your videos.
Ha! One of our members said something similar about the length of this video compared to the usual ones :-) Glad you liked the ending as well!
Gross commercialization is 100% accurate.
Yep, and yet, it’s still one of my favorite times of the year :-)
Would you buy a 30 inch depth or just the standard 24 inch depth rack? Does it matter that much?
Short version: It doesn't matter that much, but I'd recommend the 24 inch depth.
Long version: For example, if you want to warm up your bench between work sets of your squat (assuming you have two barbells and two sets of j-hooks), you can squat outside the cage on one side (with spotter arms) and bench outside the cage on the other side (again, with spotter arms). This assumes you've bolted the rack to the floor, which I definitely recommend. This is also great if you're training with someone else - you both can use the same rack.
If, for some reason, you'd rather do all of that inside the rack and you have at least 135 lb for both your squat and your bench, you'll need the R-4, which has a 43-inch interior depth. The 30-inch depth won't cut it - when you unrack your squat and step back, you stand a good chance of hitting the plates of your bench press when you descend into your squat.
In summary, I'd recommend the 24-inch R3, and get the R4 if you want to use 2 barbells but don't want to lift outside the rack. Hope this helps!
