Devil's advocate: The issue isn't with preparation or noise-we already know why it's essential and what kind of noise we have. Rather, it's a complicated issue of motivation, fear, and depleting willpower, with tiny obstacles growing into larger ones like snowballs due to procrastination.
Ali, your videos have truly changed my whole life and how I interact with it. Thank you so much. I started medication for my mood around the same time I found your channel, but I believe you really helped me get the tools needed to get to my goals. Teaching me to try to avoid planning has removed a lot of struggle from my life. I even keep a few quotes from your videos on my miro life motivation board. Your video on doubling productivity a month ago plucked me up out of a sea of confusion and set me down on my path. I really can't thank you enough! 💐💐💐💐💐
Wow! Thank you so much for writing this! I am very curious which quotes you wrote down, and what your miro life board is structured like. Would you mind explaining it to me? You can email me at ali@nextlevelsystems.co
haha not really, I'm genuinley interested in making ADHD content -- this is probably the most painful problem I've solved in my life so I can talk about it all day -- if there's a trend then great, more people are becoming aware
@@alialqaraghuli im really far away from solving it haha now that I have been working from home as a software engineer SRE since 2 years ago, I can notice im not as "fast" as I was and I get distracted really easily now Edit: I'm not 100% confirmed a person with ADHD since it is really expensive to get the diagnosis in my country, but I have many of the "symptoms"
😍 It’s like someone finally spoke the language of my brain. Thank youuu for breaking it up so simply into clear short analogies and quick explanations of simple workarounds for the way we think😎🧠❤️
This makes so much sense!!!! I’ve done research with EMGs before and this hit sooooo clearly. One could even consider your idea on self-talk and using the adhd system for productivity as the filter you want to apply.
Great presentation style! Especially for the type of brain that gets bored easily. 😜 Good pace, not too fasts, so I can absorb what you're saying. Good voice intonation that keeps me captive. Smart and rational and everything you talk about is interesting and obviously backed-up with a lot of research and experience. You have a way of being relatable, even if your brain is genius level!! 😁 Thanks for all you do! Can't wait to see what's next. 👍
Ali, your videos and the information you share are excellent. Keep up the good work and I think you will have a huge channel one day! Best wishes to you.
A level above this is where you audit your signal list and downgrade most of the items to noise. Accumulation is the default so need to be proactive about cutting things out, refining them even further to the vital few items that will make the biggest contribution towards the result.
I constantly have that type of noise in my head. My current job is financially stable but very boring. I've been learning programming for a long time, which I really love, but something always interrupts me. New ideas are also a problem; I somehow feel a strong motivation to learn other areas in IT, I start, and then I stop again.
Out of all the content I’ve ever consumed be it videos, lectures, books, podcasts, courses, I have yet to see someone able to give real goal examples. They are always so vague and cliché. How can nobody give an actual example. Why do they struggle to provide any kind of substance. It makes me think they don’t actually do it and the topic is just snake oil. This is what has caused my infinite spiral into the blackhole of productivity and goal setting. Always being left with feeling like somethings missing or i need more info. Having ADHD I have chased this tirelessly for decades. I have no idea what an actual life is suppose to look like being how mine is so chaotic and ambivalent. I’m at a point where I highly doubt anyone actually sets goals or plans or tracks or anything. Not sure if I’m even articulating properly. I try to imagine what other people do, especially neurotypicals. When i observe around me all i see are people spending the majority of their day at work. Some get gym into their day. They eat and lull themselves to sleep with entertainment. Some people on weekends will choose to socialize. I have never seen or heard anyone having goals let alone goalsetting. At least outside of the typical vague new years goals. Nobody in movies or tv shows ever showed characters writing out or having some elaborate goals with drawn out plans. Idk maybe self development has poisoned me. Now the trend is systems over goals. I’ve realized people have just created a new buzzword for steps. A system is just a series of actions you take toward your goal. For lack of real example that matches what’s portrayed by all content creators to ever speak of goals, I continuously look down on myself and feel like I’m not measuring up. I’m fed up, what the hell am i missing??😢
What makes you think the goal example in this video was not real? I genuinely want to grow my business for the reasons mentioned -- can you tell me more?
Thank You @lucidIntuition for sharing your thoughts and observations. 🙏Yes, goals, productivity "products", and even culture... have this problem. I don't know how to summarize it and there is a need to have discussion in order to unpack it. But If I have to write something about it I would write that 1) People don't grasp the meaning of the things tha happen on implicit level which can't be explained by simple concepts. 2) Goals aren't things that drives us. It's reductionistic fantasy that went too far. Insteed the things behind the scene are systems (relations), attractors, affordances, and revelance realization. I didn't figure out proper and coherent narration that can be clearly articulated about what's going on but I recognise the problem and I have potential alternative view on it. Have a nice day 👋
Yes, this. I feel like a failure because I can't even form a goal. Feel like if I can't learn to Bullet Journal or meditate or choose a direction that I am achieving nothing. I just think cruel thoughts about myself and worry some day someone will really look at me, see me, and be shocked and disappointed. I have work to do, watching videos on procrastination makes me feel like I am being productive when I am actually procrastinating.
Hey Ali! I have commeneted on your posts before.I am a highschool student in the US and I really look up to and was wondering if i can do an internship or mentorship under you? Thanks!
I'm sorry Ali, but with all due respect, I think while these are important parts of the problem, you seem to be massively oversimplifying this. I'm worried this may fuel peoples' false hopes on productivity. ADHD is a complex problem and statements like "working obsessively on product" is not achievable due to the inherent executive dysfunction. Please consider this if you really want to provide help to your followers. Thank you.
As an ADHDer, distraction and overwhelm has always been my biggest problem. This excercise alone was the 80/20 in terms of what helped me focus on what to work on, and identify and stop distractions. In the follow up video I address the other problems
The power of these videos lies in their ability to communicate complex problems or unclear solutions in a simple and straightforward way, using metaphors to help understanding, particularly for an ADHDer. Also the atomicity of each video makes it easy to digest so viewer should be aware that it is only a starting point.

Dude, youre gonna skyrocket soon
I really appreciate all the videos you put out. I will finally have the time to binge watch them and take notes.
Great!!
Hope that's not the adhd saying "I will finally" hahaha for I know how that's been said by me before haha

remove noise as much as you can!
love your content
thank you for all the videos!
you are very welcome!
This is some mind shifting content.
What about it specifically makes you say that?

Glad you enjoyed it! What specifically did you like about the video? So I can repeat it in my next ones :)
Hey Ali, Do you need an editor who can edit your videos and you focus on uploading more videos more videos???
Hey Ali! I have commeneted on your posts before.I am a highschool student in the US and I really look up to and was wondering if i can do an internship or mentorship under you? Thanks!
what skills do you have? what are you interested in working on?
We can even simplify that to say .. what is signal? and do nothing but that.
sure, but it helps to recognize the noise so you identify it and remove it
Referred video did not pop up
Can you check now?
Nope, still did not pop up.
Hii do you do 1 on 1 coaching ?
I do, but you have to go through my $98 program first to ensure you can learn the system which is used in coaching
Isn't this just the 3 lens system?
this is a much simplified version of it for those who find the full 3 lens system overwhelming
CAN I EDIT YOUR VIDEOS?
they don't need editing

@@gugacb85 spot on!
Idk man this seems like it’s not addressing executive dysfunction. They can’t even start this.
at the end of the video I address that problem
Typical ADHD trait, doing something that makes people feel better
