He's acknowledged a number of mistakes he made (including the situation where he cheated on his girlfriend at the time), he's grown and matured so much as have others. Gotta let that go. You can't keep holding the mistakes of the past over them. Unless Hbox did something that was absolutely criminal (like what happened to a bunch of the players when that infamous Reddit post came to light), the dude has made tremendous effort as a player and as a person.
After this win, especially considering he didn’t drop a set, I have a feeling that this will help break some of his mental barriers. Don’t count the Box out! He may not always be #1, but that doesn’t mean he can’t still deliver!

Funny thing is that since ~2018 there's only been 1 of them who's been a serious threat to win a major. Mango fell off, then he came back just as HBox fell off, and now HBox is back just as Mango has fallen off. Hopefully Mango comes back and we can see them play in grands of a major again
the way they praise melee is how ult players should be proud of their legacy, but I dont think they have the same level of promotion and brain. Instead they do the opposite sometimes, lets hope ult gets bigger too
ult hasn't been around very long, plus I think there are more things ult players hate about ult than things melee players hate about melee. (just an observation as someone that mostly plays ultimate)

As much as I wanted jmook to win a major watching hbox get another win was actually cool. Hbox has been around long enough to go from underdog, to god, to most hated, and now we are on the anti-hero arc. I am not an hbox fan but I have never hated him. Watching these changed over the years has been one of the most incredible melee stories and its why we love melee. Also ibdw might just be the next villain and I am ready for that. Dude is grimey as hell.

On the PGstats channel, Walt makes a point to ask Hbox about the phob he used to win the tournament. It's great to see Panda endorsing better controllers. Also makes you wonder what they have planned. Would love to see Panda officially supporting phob - either using it in their own controllers or just helping fund sourcing/distribution/promotion.

That's kinda the weird thing with hbox. Yes, Puff kind of allows him to not have to train tech skill as much as other mains in melee have to, but he plays ultimate where puff fucking sucks. So what happens is, in this weird way, ultimate becomes his "weight training" so when he goes back to melee, he's a wayyy better version of what he usually plays. I see you, hbox..

IBDW has literally said he camps puff on purpose so anyone complaining about hbox camping needs to rethink things because fox players camp just as much.
Side note I love IBDW he's my second favorite player besides Hbox so I don't have any problem with him just think it is unfair how puff players are always blamed for camping when almost ever other character camps puff when they play her. It was the same for the Peach vs. Puff controversy.

I still watch sets from 2014-2016 all the time. Melee was simply at its best, not gameplay wise but there were so many amazing narratives at the time.
