Totally disagree with the commentators' take on Mang0 and Lebron. It's an interesting case since both players have GOAT arguments and uncanny similarities, but Mang0's longevity argument is simply more believable than LeBron's. While LeBron has won on 3 different teams (that he built) Mang0 picked these characters up and started from scratch unlike LeBron. When people compare LeBron to Michael Jordan, the argument is almost always slanted due to recency bias, but with Mang0 there is no argument slanted because of recency bias because he has been at the top across all eras of Melee (Against Ken and M2K, Prime Armada and the other 3 like him), and this is the most competitive era Melee has seen (Not saying Mang0 is the GOAT or #1 currently because there is till more Melee to be played, just saying that he is always near the top). In short, LeBron's argument doesn't hold water while Mang0's stands the test of time.
This basketballl era is definitely more competitive than Jordan's, there is a LOT more talent in the league now. Also I would argue that it's the opposite of recency bias, where people deify Jordan and his 6-0 status, and look the other way about him skipping two years and only making six Finals (LeBron and Kareem both having made more). Your bias is showing, Jordan as the GOAT is a reasonable take but so is having LeBron as the GOAT, and to act otherwise is obtuse. Thinking Basketball will release a podcast next week that uses film study and stats to order Russell, Kareem, Jordan and James.
@@marco5030 First there is no gain in deifying Jordan because he was by no means a perfect player. And to counter your point of it _not_ being recency bias for LeBron Jason Terry, 2 Sweeps, Missing The *Play-In* with a superteam and getting into 1-3 deficit to then win 3 games in a row, as well as having more losses at the highest level than wins are somehow magically overlooked when making LeBron's case when it should all be considered, the same goes for any other player, as you mentioned with Jordan. If I had to pick a player to be the goat it'd be Russell, but then I'd be wrong because basketball has many more games to be played. As someone who watched LeBron play his entire career he without question is the best player of his generation, an all time top 5, and he has a case to be the Greatest of All Time. It's much more nuanced though because no one player is the Greatest because it comes down to a definition of "greatness." It's about making a case for a player. The reason I initially disagreed with the commentators' take of the comparison is because Mang0's longevity argument is far more convincing than LeBron's. The two do share similarities, but one has already proclaimed himself to be the GOAT (LeBron), and the other says he still has more to prove (Mang0). If you think LeBron is the GOAT, you're entitled to your opinion, but Mang0 simply has a better "longevity argument for GOAT" in his respective field as compared to LeBron in his. I didn't write this because _Michael Jordan is better than LeBron_, just look at the sentence prior to this one and you'll know why I wrote this. Fair argument though, and I'll check out that podcast you mentioned.

Lol, I loved IBDW rolling the chair a safe distance from Hbox 😂 definitely an improvement over the reverse popoff AND, an innocent chair was spared 👍

"Cody" vs "IBDW" - the W alone has more syllables than his first name 😂 I get why people want to call him Cody
Brandon called it. We did witness history.
Let’s go Cody !
Seeing these two playing each other in bracket is always a show before - during - and after the set lmao

Just realized "IBDW" has more syllables than "I Be Doing Work"
Why was Hbox coming late to the stage? I started watching stream during this match so missed something.
