Mango SDing twice at 0 and still somehow winning made me think "Evo 2015 alternate timeline" by myself and then he went on the mic and referenced it afterwards lmaooooo
Would you live in a Universe where Mango wins EVO 2015 and have this "THREEVO" or live in the current timeline with Mang0 Summit 11 win , Big House 6 and 9 wins , Royal Flush , Smash Cons wins and more? I dont know but I feel him losing EVO 2015 make all of these insane tournaments runs more memorable
@@henryreturns1397I know this comment old but I think about this kinda shit all the time. Like I remember feeling so bummed that in 2018 leffen and plup would’ve had shit on lock if hbox didn’t just beat them game 5 over and over again. But all those heartbreaking losses made the wins like this hit so much harder
These two are just running up the score now. They've been trading sets all year, you really can't predict who's going to win in any given set of any given tournament. And given these two were doing a bunch of Summit 14 content together, I'm glad these two are still at it.
These two always go so back and forth that I already know who’s gonna win the next one now. (Whether that’s because mango sleeps on hbox and gets overconfident or because hbox power ups into camp the ledge mode)
@@vyor8837. Top ten players are too good to get downloaded. Mixup game is way too insane nowadays. Mango changes up how he gets his confirms on hbox in almost every set they play.
i disagree that head to head matchup matters in terms of overall ranking. I think you can be the best player in the world and still have a losing record and odds against multiple players. If there is a player who beats literally everyone then ok, but I don't think head to head is as accurate as it feels emotionally
The lifetime head to head is close, but besides last year, Mang0 has not had a winning record against Hungrybox, in a year, since 2014. It sounds better to just say lifetime, but the other side of the narrative is that it took Mang0 7 years to get a winning record against Hungrybox (and they are tied for 2022 after this set)
Every top player has their own way to deal with the stress of winning and loosing. The pandemic changed a lot of things, slippi pushed the meta for years, and Juan met many challenges on the competitive side during it, however he earned a lot of success with his streamming carrer flourishing greatly, in fact i would say he had way more wins outside of melee, became Co-Owner of his own sponsor, blew up on twitch, and became a respected puff player on ultimate, the stress as a top player was at an all time low, so whenever you saw Hbox loosing, you could tell he had nothing to worry about, since he has found out more fulfilled acomplishments outside of melee, he kept playing as if he had nothing to loose because he had what he wanted already, true rest for Juan. He would participate at all side events and hop on the commentators mic prior to a set because it was no longer about winning, but about being there; like i said before, every top player have their own way to deal with stress, Hbox decided to not focus on being the best, meaning that he would not train as someone that goes for the #1 spot at the melee rankings, "if i win, i'm the best, if i loose, as expected". On this set, Mang0 is playing out of his mind, out classed Hbox in most exchanges and dominated most of the set; Mang0 has grinded slippi since the beginning of the pandemic, imagine playing melee for hours everyday and still loosing tournaments, he placed sweat, blood and tears to shape himself into this player in 2022, at 15:06 you can see Hbox face, just embarassed for not taking this game seriously, what's the point of playing if you are not aiming to be the best, he gazed at Mang0 one last time with pure emotion on his face resdy to kill everyone, that's when i knew Hbox really wanted to win tonight and it was beautiful. Melee is a game that will never be as popular as the mainstream events like the LoL worlds event that happened the same weekend no matter what, same thing money wise, so why do you still pick the controller Juan?
Wierd bro to assume what he is thinking when he literally has said many times he is still trying to be the best and is trying to get the 1st ranking. How bad do you have to cope to declare Hbox does not care anymore, you know, when he goes to more majors then literally everyone.
See I look at this way as well, if you solely stick to one character for your entire career, I honestly believe that hurts your case. It definitely doesn't help his argument that he's a solo Puff out of all characters. While he's obviously very skilled, never daring to step into the more tech heavy characters is a huge factor for me when considering who's the goat. He's still in the conversation for me, but anyone who thinks he's the goat rn is probably a Hungrybox sub lol.
@@MrGameonthis See this is one thing that I hate about the melee community - the excessive idolization of spacies players as if tech skill is the only aspect of the game that matters.

The two best to ever do it man, closing in on 100 sets lifetime, that’s crazy

I love that these two are still playing all these years later.
I didn't hear mango complaining like leffen
Cuz he won lmao.
Are we going to see Mang0 vs. aMSa grandfinals again?
That pop off was tight af
p tight
It was frame perfect.
this commentary is incredible really.
Makes the game that much more enjoyable
That’s why you don’t call this man joseph
Damn 🔥 the Goat's fox is just different on summits, now has under the belt beating Zain twice on FD and Hbox twice on Dreamland, he did that. 🐐
He also beat him twice on dreamland and LTC, but that was a 3-0 not a 3-1
He can beat Zain and Hbox and still place at 11th because he only beats the top tiers but cant win the whole thing
