Great video, this was very helpful thanks a bunch! However, I cannot figure out how to get the Left,Right, Up and Down arrows to function with this setup. I want to be able to use them to go to the next track in the project or at least be able to change patches. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Thank you SO much!!! I've been going crazy trying to get my Keystation 88 to connect for I don't know how long because I didn't realise it had to be connected under Mackie Controller! THANK YOU!!!!
Grazie molto interessante.. only a question.. "you can connect the keyboard directly to the USB of MAC port without using an Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter" thank
It’s a bit more complicated than this. You gotta go to preferences>advanced and then do like a thousand more tweaks and shit for it to work. But having said that, at some point I sort of found this helpful.
doesn't work.. i've connected the keyboard via usb (it lights so it's connected) but then when I try to select the Output Port/Input Port it doesn't do anything, doesn't propose me any sources at all
Felix Baillet hmm, you know, I just ran into this problem myself, and it maybe a problem on M-Audios side now that I see that you are having issues with it as well. My controller has just stopped working out of nowhere, not picking up anything. The keyboard lights up and everything. Have you tried connecting with another computer or ipad. Mine is currently not working, and it seems strange because it was working the other day. I do hope that m-audio fixes this problem as the keyboard does work great, I've had the first key station that came out, for a long time and recently picked up this one. Looks like we may have to wait a bit. In the mean time, if you do have a way of testing the keystation with another computer or ipad, please post your results here so that We can confirm its an m-audio problem and now a hardware malfunction.
same thing happens for me. It used to work fine and one day it stopped. It lights up when I plug it in, and I've tried multiple usb cables. So irritating.
@@ToDoroINT could it be a power issue? I have read of some of these not working - they light up etc - but they had to add it to a USB hub in order for it to output sound.
Hi I'm using your method here with a keystation 49, I've selected Mackie control but on my output I only see port 1, and for my input I only see port 1 and port 2. In your video your keystation showed up in place of whats on my screen. Any idea why it doesn't show up for me? I'm using logic pro 10.0.7, and I'm on Mac OS HighSierra 10.13.2. Thanks
Hi, sorry for the later response, this is weird. Have you tried changing USB ports on your comp? Are you able to use it to play sounds in Logic in it's current setup? Try changing USB ports.I haven't realy faced this problem from my experience, so I am not really sure what this can be.
Hey I had figured it out anyway, seems that the keystation doesn't show up but I can just choose port 1 for output and port 2 for input and the rest figures itself out. Great video though without it I would not of figured this out!! The manual is not very helpful.
Thank you for watching, and also posting a solution for others to see. Really appreciate that! Hope you enjoy playing the keystation the way it's meant to be played!
Would this fix apply to a keystation m-audio 49 MkIII too? Also do you know why mine might be only working when I change LPX track midi channel from ‘All’ to ‘1’?
Hi, do you have a similar tutorial for the M-Audio Oxygen 49 Mk IV? It's similar, but not identical (or know of a video that walks through reassigning buttons, pads, etc.). Thanks in advance.
Duncan Hazlewood hi, you can try the same thing i did for this video, but when you are looking for mackie control option, see if there is an m-audio oxygen setting. I am not sure if it will work, but i remember seeing the option.
Zand Maroof are you in mackie hui mode? Hit the advanced button, then press the key that aligns with mackie hui or something like that. The words are written in white bordering the top of the keys. See if that helps. Dont forget to press the white key on the right when you are done, to apply the settings.
Hey Man, I loved this video. I have a M-Audio Keystation that I just purchased, but for some reason the octave keys are still not set up properly. I followed every step that you gave, but when I press the F key after the lights are red, they turn yellow instead of automatically green. And then I press the F key again until they are green. When i use the octave key after that, it makes the key that im playing go up in the chromatic scale, but not change the octave. Any advice on how to change this? Thanks again for the great video!!!
I just got the maudio keystation mini32 mk3 and I do not found hot to connect it with logic, MainStage or garageband, can some one here help me please.

Hi. for some reason my settings under the setup isn't saying keystation port for output or input It doesnt even give the option. it just says usb pro 25, pro 25 editor, mackie hui, pro midi din. what should I select? Should I select mackie hui for both out and input

Since the last iOS update, my Keystation 61es stops working randomly in the middle of a recording, and to fix it, I have to turn it off and on again. So that's how I got to your video. But when I add the Mackie control, the keyboard no longer works as a keyboard (no sound), but hitting they keys changes the Logic windows instead. So that's no good. And what's even worse is that Mackie Control cannot be deleted, no matter how many times I select "Delete". Fortunately setting it back to defaults makes my keyboard work again.

Regarding Control Surface Setup: I see there is in fact an M-Audio Keystation option for Logic Pro X v10.4.1. Why do you recommend choosing the Mackie option instead?
You know what, I looked up how to do it once, and this is the one way that I tried and everything worked. I know that the m-audio used the Mackie HUI interface inside the keystation and thats why everything works. I haven't tried the regular keystation option at all, but if someone is willing to try and post it, that would be fantastic information for many others who will be viewing the video in the future! Thanks for your comment!
as soon as I set up oxygen 49 for input and output logic stops making sound and when i press any oxygen key logic kind of hang out and start to blinking. I have to turn off oxygen in orden to make logic responsive again. If i go to surface control again, it wont let me deselect oxygen as input and i have to manually delete it to get logic and oxygen make sounds again. Any help on how to solve this? thanks!
