Great review. Best one I've found on the M-Audio Keystation 49 MK3. I've been deciding between this and the Alesis (which is identical) and the Nektar. These keys as you showed are much quieter than the Nektar so this is what I'll go for. I want to add a small keyboard on my desk for recording. Seems like a good choice. Thanks for the info!
You're welcome! I'm glad the video was able to help you make a good choice for your recording set up. I really hope it works out well for you! Thank you for watching and commenting. 🤘
You can assign drum samples to different notes on the keyboard, and I don’t see a reason why it wouldn’t pick up velocity for drums, so it should work out for you!
The version I bought is labeled that way. The keyboard said 49es, box said MK3 and Guitar Center tag said exactly what I put in the title. Hope that clears things up!
@@DJUnprotected since there are size differences between the es (MK2 really) and the MK3, this should be straight forward to figure out. Confusing that it was packaged that way. Hope they didnt bait & switch on you. I read the es has better keys though, but wasn’t able to get one so I ordered the MK3. Potato Tomato ˇ\_(ツ)_/ˇ

You are the only person who thought of recording the noise of the keys themselves in the review. Thank you for this.
You’re welcome! It’s important because I do not like ‘clicky’ sounding keys.
Can you connect this into a tablet?
Keystation 49 * es and mk3 are the same thing? 🤔
I was wondering this too
@@namebrandon After watching so many reviews i realized " keystation es " was the mark2 version ,,, and the new version is named " keystation 49 Mk3"
@@thesammoshow7189 Yeah, I found some more reviews as well. Some people end up preferring the earlier model.
@@namebrandon yeah ,but those earlier versions are not available any more ,
@@thesammoshow7189 They are available at Guitar Center
Would this work to play midi drums in cause it doesn’t have pads? Does the keys have velocity sensitivity for drums ?

Does this work well with Garage Band?
Yes!
So this is the es - not the MK3. So confusing.

@@Fanzindel I'm just glad I was able to get a keyboard in a pinch. I'm really happy with the M Audio Keystation. The keys feel great!
@@DJUnprotected I hear you. Was glad I got the 3 on sale. Then watched reviews and saw that the es is better lol so you got lucky 👌
@@Fanzindel lol thank you!
can you plug headphone in it?
No, there is no audio interface on this keyboard (and no built-in sounds).
yes but where’s the sound? u didn’t show any sound!🤣🤣
It doesn't play sound. It's a MIDI controller. You have to connect it to a computer.
@@ABCDEF-w5x ok, thanks
