Thanks this helped me replace my element. The only problem I had was the connector to the hot stove light broke off 😬 but I just soldered it to the element connection. 😂
So I know others have problems like this too, like one outer burner and one inner burner stops working. Because it’s metal 3 people I know felt a shock when touching the Metal bars upon turning on the stove/oven. GE will answer for it.
What caused this problem? The wires and connectors got so hot they melted and discolored. Almost looks like too much current flow for the wires to handle. What was the stove circuit breaker rated and was the feed wire to the stove the proper gauge for the stove and the breaker?
Thanks for posting this video. I have a GE cafe series electric range, and one of the elements isn’t very responsive: if I need to turn max, I need to tweak the switch for it to light up. Do you think it’s caused by the same issue? Thanks again

My GE profile electric range 7 years old, burner s have problems 3 times, I can’t fix it anymore , even I replaced burner elements and switch. I don’t want learn how to replace wire and control panels. I will buy a LG or Samsung kitchen appliances next time.
So I was replacing an element on a range because it wasn't heating up and I forgot to unplug it and one of the 240 wires that went to the element touched the casing where the element sits and ofcourse activated the breaker and when I flipped it back the element was working again, I checked the voltage and I was getting almost none from one high voltage wire to the other then I checked the hot to the casing and there was my 240 voltage, should I be worried that the element is now getting grounded to the case or should I thank my lucky stars cause the element works now?
The switch assembly wires is not available anymore anywhere. I have change the infinite switch only and the burner but the front dual 12 " burner still don't work. All the other burners are working. Any suggestions to change only the wires?
Why would all burners not work . I look at the switches but could not see any burn switches. The burner indicator light come on for all 5 burners. Oven works fine.
I am having that same issue, if you find a solution let me know, just bought an electric $40 double burner from Walmart to use in the meantime until can figure this out. Might be permanent solution until someday I replace the whole thing.
@@antoinea1937 yes , I had a Range repair guy come to our house. The reason it happened is because I hit the oven cleaning button by accident, I panicked and tried to stopped it but the action was already started ,I will touch base with him and find out what he did to get it working. No maintenance was required, just resetting.
I had an LG oven before, it was impossible to find parts for it, LG want to send a tech , and refused to sell me the parts, at least with GE it’s not the case.
The repair will cost about $30 in parts and 20 minutes. A new oven like this is $1100. So unless you make $2,800 an hour it’s worth it. Doubt if you made almost $3,000 an hour you would be wasting your valuable time on RUclips. And btw I know you’re probably joking.
agree. everything else about this video is great - pop up text explaining the steps, not going too fast - it’s all good. my personal preference is no music bc I find it distracting when I’m stressing about a repair 😅. the instructor speaking or even no sound is good if everything is in the pop up text 👍🏼. anyway I went through about 10 other videos before finding this one - it’s the best one ty!

My issue is all burners and oven not coming on. No burner light. But the clock works and control panel seems ok. Any ideas?
I have a GE stove and 2 of my burners were bad. each burner cost $200 bucks.. and a new stove cost $700..
Hello, i was in the same situation with an LG many years ago, and i just sold it for parts.
Keep going 👌

Hello, i think it’s a known problem for this brand, i know other people had the same issue, the breaker is a 40 Amp.
Does it need to be switch the entire assembly can we do just one of the switch isn’t working are it’s burned ? Nice video.
Hello, the switches are sold as a set, i am not sure if you can only buy one.
Hello, thank you for the hint, if you need a genuine replacement part, ge don’t sell just one switch.

Get a new stove. NOT GE.
You have to replace the wires and switches? Can you just replace the switches/repair wires and avoid taking the whole thing apart?
