This video was really helpful to me during my GE Glass top, front control range right side burner switch replacement. (I thought it was the burner that went out, but it was the switch) - anyway, thank you & may the pure light always shine on you and your family
Thank you so much for posting this video. Super helpful! Bought "GE WB30T10133 Genuine OEM 9" Radiant Dual Surface Element for GE Electric Range" for my GE Range (model: J SP46S P3SS) and just replaced it successfully today. I took my time and was able to finish in about an hour. Used drill and adapter. Those clips are THE worst. Shoutout to the chunky peanut butter jars that were the perfect height to hold the stove top up while I was accessing the element.
Thank you for posting this video. This was a lot more complicated than I expected getting to the burner. Most videos said simply lift the top. Ummm..not this baby. We did it!! And like many repair jobs. .we have a few leftover screws. :) So appreciated!!

You make it look so easy. This is exactly my problem. I'll probably drop half the screws and of course something won't line up right when I try to get it all back together.

Really great video. Took what I would have assumed to be a nightmare job and broke it down into very simple steps. Unfortunately replacing the heating element did not fix my problem. The outer coil will still not function. Any further ideas on what could cause these same symptoms except for the heating element?

That control panel is identical (except for the dial knobs) to the one on my gas range. Great tutorial as I may need to replace the igniters on mine and knowing how that control panel comes off is a great help.

Hallelujah, it worked! I needed to replace the exact same element, but for a different reason. I watched it all the way through, then followed step by step, pausing in between as I performed the actions. One caution I'd give is that those tabs are the hardest item to get off and put back on. I used a screwdriver to pry the front one off. When it slipped, I got a nasty cut on my knuckle from slamming it into the metal ridge of the range. I'd recommend wearing leather gloves when doing that... When putting the tabs back on, they weren't snug. I must have "stretched" them out of shape. I uses pliers to lessen their gaps and then they worked fine. I'm curious to know how much I saved on a service call... Thanks for the video!
Very helpful video. Thanks! It was on point for the JS750SF3SS GE range and the large cook top burner replacement I had to complete. The only surprise was the difficulty in releasing the three retention clips and the difficulty re-positioning the new burner with those clips during re-installation. Both the old and new burners had numerical position markers around the periphery. A helpful detail would have been to mention that and to pre-dimple the same position markers on the replacement burner, which seemed to help. Thanks, again!

This video is awesome. By the way those clips are a total nightmare when putting the new element in so just beware. You have to swing them out of the way then put the element in. I had to put the last one in blind because it fell out and I wasn’t unclipping the other two.

the burner im having a problem with heats up on high but when I try to maintain a medium or medium high level of heat the burner sometimes goes off And gose on Back again itself but it doesn't stay on when i want. And there is no video on youtube about that .. please help me about this .. thanks
My hot surface indicator is staying on. When I turn on the burner, the pilot light goes on but it does not heat up. Does this sound like an element or controller?
My 36 inch Electrolux ICON electric cooktop just quit working. The (you referred to it as a “pilot”) lights comes on when I turning the dials but the elements do not heat up. When the burner stoped working the hot surface indicator light went out as well. It usually stays on until the surface is cool. I’m assuming I haven’t tripped a breaker or the blue “pilot” lights below the dials would not come on, but all 6 burners are not working.

Super helpful! We had the exact same stove and was able to replace a burner that wasn't heating the inner element (the dual element one). We successfully replaced the burner - those clips really are a pain! But when we went to try the elements none of them work now... We double checked all the connections and everything seems to be snug, and I hooked up the new element exactly as the old one. Any ideas what the issue might be?
Ps the clock, oven etc all work so the stove is getting power. Just the cooktop elements not working (warning lights and heating elements nothing happens when turned on)

After replugling the panel, it is acting up. When it is not touching the plate it is working when it is flush with it, it is not working. What could that be?
I've got the JS966966BOD2BB range and my problem is that the broiler element has quit working...not quite quit....get warm but that's it. I don't here the solid "click" that I get with the oven....do you think this is an element or a relay?

This video was great. No problem replacing the heating element. but I have a problem I hope someone can solve. During one of the final steps of placing the control panel in position, the control panel does not work when it is placed in position. The clock remains locked on but the other buttons do not respond. All controls work when the panel is elevated off the range. Is there a connection problem somewhere? Is there a grounding problem? I don't know how to troubleshoot. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Could anyone suggest? On a similar (ge js968B) range, when cold, one of burners works only parts of it's range - LO->4; 6->HI (doesn't work from 4-to-6: light off, no heating). However, works entire correctly when hot. I didn't find obvious signs on inspections. Anyone could suggest anything? is it a sign ob burner/switch issue? THANKS!

I have the same stove but the part numbers wiped off from years of cleaning do you by chance have the part number to this
Do you have videos on how to replace glass stove top on a GE model PCS940SF1SS? Thanks
Any idea about the button combo to get a sub burner to activate? Outer ring works but not inner. S980s T3ss
So I didn’t switch wire by wire like I was supposed to. Can I get directions on which color wire goes to which terminal number/letter?
So Tim I have this same model and my problem is the burner well not regulate when I turn it on it just stays on
This video is awesome. By the way those clips are a total nightmare when putting the new element in so just beware. You have to swing them out of the way then put the element in. I had to put the last one in blind because it fell out and I wasn’t unclipping the other two.

the burner im having a problem with heats
up on high but when I try to maintain a medium
or medium high level of heat the burner
sometimes goes off And gose on Back again itself but it doesn't stay on when i want. And there is no video on youtube about that .. please help me about this .. thanks
My hot surface indicator is staying on. When I turn on the burner, the pilot light goes on but it does not heat up. Does this sound like an element or controller?
Do you have the parts GE WB27T10564 Current Limit Board. your help is really appreciated...

My stove looks similar but the glass top has 2 screws on each side near the wall end. Must wiggle the stove out of its place to remove the 4 screws.
Very good, thanks! So the "thermal limiter" was causing the hot surface light to stay on? Is just the limiter replaceable?
Steve
Glad it was only the thermal limiter. Yes it is replaceable just call our parts department at 1-800-830-5465 and the can look it up and give you the part number and price. Thanks Matt Ace technician
On mine one is not regulating the temperature as it should as per the heat numbers on the knob. Is this a part replacement? (box under knob )

Great and helpful video and all I had to do was buy the new element (no crazy labor fee if I could have found a repairman). The clips holding element in are a bit diddicult.

Just the cooktop elements not working (warning lights and heating elements nothing happens when turned on)

thank you! very helpful!

What is the part number
Thank you for the video. We have the same GE Profile oven but the numbers on our control panel cover have be "cleaned" off. (My wife accidentally rubbed them off. lol) Is there any way you could help me find a replacement control panel cover? Or can you even buy one?

THANKS!

I've got a JP970SK2SS cooktop. The front left burner won't come on at all. The indicator light comes on, but no heat. The front right burner comes on, but after it cools down the hot surface light stays on all the time. Any ideas?

Very helpful video. Word of caution. Be very careful when lifting glass top. Wires for "Hot Surface" indicator lamp have limited slack.
