How much was this? I bought the $1400 dollar one. Extra $100 for chrome, wasn't worth it on only 2 sides. Doesn't frame whole thing like older one did. But still thought give it a lil contrast on all black counter top. All digital touch screen. Easy job. I usually like Samsung and LG appliances, but GE was best top I seen. Love it.
Have you ever encountered a stand alone unit... I have a Hanabishi HCERC-100 Ceramic Cooker and the glass top is unbonded and loose. Not sure if they sell those in the US. Going to try to find a repair Manuel but so far no luck I don't want to damage it.
Thank you. I'll never, ever buy another GE product again. They're junk! See all questions online about lockout switch won't stop buzzing or the burners clicking, all GE and mostly GE Profile. I have a Profile, that "safety" buzzer hasn't stopped buzzing for a month, so for a month, I haven't been able to cook. I've cleaned everything, nothing is wet, it buzzes if I light the burners, which light, but there's that horrible buzzing. I'm going to remove the top and see if can cut the wires for that switch. The Valve Lockout alone is $72, a fix is over $500. These should be recalled. Total junk.
I guess they replaced it because the glass had some discoloring on the back side of the glass from being old.???????? I guess they could not just clean the backside of the glass???????? I guess the can become discolored over a long time on the backside of the glass.
Can I use standard 1/4" weather stripping tape or do I need a special type of tape foam?
Great video. Many thanks for this. Not exactly my stove but it gives me confidence how to do it.
You are welcome! If we can help you with anything in the future please let us know.
Great Video. I know it has a metal flange, but does the glass of the cooktop support the entire weight of the cooktop and the pans?
You have the brackets for the cooktop and the cooktop rests on the counter as well, so it's not just the glass that supports the weight.

Finally found the unobtanium GENERAL ELECTRIC WB61T10080-GLASS TOP so going to do this soon.
Good luck with your repair! If there is anything we can help you with please let us know.
If only replacing the top glass, why do you need to remove all the screws since the top glass is not connected to the body by the screws? Thanks.

I need a video showing how to get to it in an actual oven, not a cooktop
nice done.
+chizo Thanks, glad the video helped you fix the cook top!
Mostly useless video when it does not actually have the 'description' with important part information!
