Just to add to this conversation: I've been a professional musician for 30 years. Played thousands of gigs. Finally toured the U.S. in my early 40's. But more recently I signed a record deal with Bentley Records in NYC last year when I was 50. Just released my new jazz album this summer. Now we (me and record company) are applying for a grammy nomination and I started writing for my second release with them. This is just the beginning. Another album on the way. Touring to follow. It's all good. It took a while but I am living proof to never quit and never let people talk you out of your dreams.
this is exactly what I needed to see! I'm 43 and constantly asking myself if it's still worth even thinking about doing anything with music. Truly inspiring and motivating! Thank you for that!

I'm always glad to see videos like this because of how I've heard every once in a while, things said on other RUclips videos making it like being a music artist is only a young persons game. That's where I'm always glad when there's videos like this to show how that's not necessarily true, or not really 100 percent totally true. I'm 52 and working at the music artist thing, so that 55 year old man from the UK starting to make it with his music at 55 is encouraging to me. With it being the rapper thing I've for sure heard it being said on a RUclips video or two in the past, like anyone 40 and older is too old to be a rapper and them being called Old Heads, I couldn't help feeling like so disagreeing with that, that I made a cool sounding rap song about that called Old Heads. I got the whole song on my RUclips channel.
Hi Adam, been following. Thanks 4 this. I,m known as "Lefthand" because am left-handed but hand me a right-handed guitar and can play it just the same. Old hippy lol still long hair I,m back after long break ( life got in the way lol) playing writing/recording. This vid was very interesting for me. Thanks man!!

My first digital release was this past May, my latest dedicated to my late Mother and Motherhood in general. I have maybe one coming out in November. Not sure which one yet. Jacre is an inspiration. Good Job!
@Anxious Mind Music Me too bro I'm 38 so I know exactly what you could have thought over the last couple years because I've felt the same being hard on myself like I should be further but that's not necessarily the case it's all timing and mindset and I've realized that now I've been posting and engaging more on social media / youtube more so than any other year.
I have to say. I recently subscribed to you about a week or 2 ago. I have been watching a lot of your videos. And I'm so ready to start doing music again. I played guitar all the way from my 6th grade year to when I graduated. But I kinda started not doing it after awhile when I seen i was going nowhere with it. But thats because of the mainstream idea that its just luck. "You gotta be in the right place at the right time." Is what I always thought. Now I realize that that's not the case. And I've realized after a long spiritual and mindful journey I want to pick music up again but I want to do it with the production and stuff. Gonna keep watching your vids to learn all I can about the marketing side and how to grow more. I'm getting my gear delivered soon so I can't wait to get started.
This is so fantasic and uplifting. Man i am 35 years old,and feel i want to give up with you and downs in the music industry . But i know deep down innside that music is what i want to do for the rest of my life.. There's no options for me. I will not to give up 🎵❤🙏. Even in my 40-50 and 60s!!

I'm 52 and only been making music a year. I've released 32 tracks in this time. It's hard to get a following but managed to get 100000 streams on soundcloud. I'm new to social media I didn't even have Facebook last year. I'm currently making as many mistakes as possible😊
Adam you're such a genius. This interview is awesome and mind blowing. At 51, I almost give up in pursuit of my music carrier, but this interview has renew the passion and determination in me. Thanks for bringing this to your audience.
Hey, @Jacre ! I really enjoyed the video, congrats on your success! You know, I've had a chance to whitness your growth for a while and this example of real growth from scratch is really more valuable for me than many other accounts with significant numbers, who made it long ago. Besides, the music you do has a unique style as I see it, which I would say is a bit more difficult to push into the market. Despite all that you still fight against the odds, and I like watching it man, please keep going. I need this inspiration! :)

Same here Jack. Never really considered going into music cause I thought I wasn't good enough. Then I turned 23 this year and started saying, too late anyways, I'm too old - most people start in their TEENS. LOL. Now, thankfully, I've smacked that stupid lie away from my head. And I'm on track to start releasing music that I've written very soon. We can do this!
