What are some features you would like to see in the Maschine software and Hardware update in the future? Leave a comment Below and hopefully, if we get enough input Native Instruments will see this video and implement them!!! 😁😁
Detached mixer window would be a + for dual screen production. Cleaner automations, less clicky. Updated the song mode timeline to be like other linear DAW’S. More Aux channels for better sub group routing.
Doooood! I was literally going to make this video... and say the exact same things! Cubase user forever over here, but I LOVE Maschine for chopping and starting tunes... nothing like it! AND as I'm commenting here... you give me a shoutout!! Dude this is the truth here, we need Maschine running inside any DAW, it would be BEAUTIFUL. Great video my friend!! (and your lighting is dialled in!!)
Cubase user for life bro!!😁 Man it would be the perfect workflow! Your MIDI Remote video is absolutely a God Send! Saved me loads of time lol!! Hopefully NI Hears us and Give us Maschine Komplete Kontrol Plugin! Thanks for commenting bro!
I started making music with Maschine. Over time, more and more I switched to Ableton for the same reasons you mentioned. I only use the Maschine to make basic drum loops, because the expansions are really great. Then I drag and drop the wavs to Ableton, and that's it for Maschine. If they make the software more DAW-like, or at the bare minimum add a decent piano roll I could see myself using Maschine more.
This is absolutely my same workflow! The more people I talk to, the more I’m finding that most people use Maschine in this way. Thank you for commenting!
This is totally on point. I love the sounds in Maschine but never use it due to the LONG & LIMITED workflow of exporting to a DAW to finish the song. In fact I’m recently considering selling Maschine altogether. HOWEVER, proper DAW integration like you describe would have me using Maschine again and investing way more in expansions and any future updates.
The fun thing is the limitations of the software and actually lead to more faster workflow and creative ideas Yes some things like a real timeline and automation lanes would be helpful and they did add clips which I hardly use but if you have a machine and a jam and a complete control keyboard it's a pretty awesome combo I do wish they add MPE support
For me as a hobby beat maker, Maschine have almost everything what I need, but I’ve get your point as a professional. And i hope You will get what You need from them soon. Peace!
Indeed the Jam was killed of without a replacement also (like the S8, S5, D2, and Z2), and there new hardware SUCKS big time. Send back a X1 mk3 before it was officially released (way to strong center nudge on the pots).
1 - capture jam like ableton !!!1!1!1!!1!1!!!1!1!!! 2 - automation curves 3 - electron style sequencer ( conditional trigs etc ) Improved routing and transport controls to use via daw and overall better daw integration
Ima have to check out the Electron Sequencer! I think you are 100% right with your other suggestions!🙏🏾 Better DAW integration would change a lot for me!
Maschine is my Go to to almost every projects. This sampler, drum machine, samplemlibrary and plugin host is so powerful. I really love it. Then I drag and drop in Logic, and finish the track. I even sometimes arrange the track in maschine and export the arrangement, and re-arrange in logic. I’m really waiting for a maschine software update, and i got my eyes onto the new kontrol MK3 keyboard. Thanks for the video and for the insights !
I too am a long time Cubase user (we're talking 20+years) and I would LOVE if they made it so you could use Mashine as a plug in! I used to be a big reason user and utilized the Rewire compatibility to dump my audio into Cubase. Now you can use Reason as a plugin, might have to revisit it. Also, STEM SEPARTION! It's coming to the MPC software, where you at N.I??? By the way, I just came across your channel and I love your presentation! Keep it up bro!
I use Maschine as a sort of a front end for all sequencing. After I send stems out to my DAW. One update wish is to have meter changes with in each pattern in a group. Also time Quantize to be I little more flexible. Interested to see if they’ll ever integrate Maschine into Kontrol MK3.
I surely can!! I will work on it this week matter of fact😁 Literally download the update as I type this and can’t wait to try it out! I personally think it’s the best workflow for Maschine and another DAW. Especially with the ability to Map the hardware midi controller to pretty much any function in Cubase with Macros
So many people, including myself, are angry about the Dropped Maschine intergration. I dont believe NI's case "not that users used both". I call BS on their statement, the amount of backlash says otherwise.
NI's March community update mentions: "We recognize the need for bigger strides forward for Traktor and Maschine. Both will receive long-overdue software updates this year, with improvements that bring new creative tools and a clean, modern interface" They also had a survey for maschine users to take. That multiple choice survey required the user to select potential features that would be most and least important to them. Some of the features that were options included: Stem separation, realtime stretching, work with other NI hardware, powerful sequencer enhancements, poly after touch, pianoroll improvements with zoom, effects integration, mp3 and other saving formats, sampler enhancements and a few other things that I forget!
You can load Maschine as a plugin but yes I agree we need this function because running it as a plugin you can't even full-screen Maschine while its a plugin. Another thing they NEED to fix.
@@creativedwill I've also found that as a plug-in it has 8 stereo ins and outs so you can route anything to an input on your daw but still control with Maschine VST, you just need to route each group or single instrument to the ext outs in Maschine. I used this with ableton and Harrison mixbus with great results, I think Cubase will work too
User sounds preview. User samplepack artwork. Extra user samples sub folder. Maybe some turntablist Perform FX scratches like transformers, flares, crab or whatever and a plate reverb. You were 100% correct with the auto quantize too so thanks man. I obviously tested it originally without using punchy fast attack hits.
These are dope suggestions! Thank you for commenting🙏🏾 it will definitely be interesting on what they implement next. I love perform x so having some new EFX would be amazing
I map each pad output in maschine to an audio track in Live, that way I can record my maschine patterns as if they were a mic’d up drum set. No loop exporting/ importing needed.
I started out on a Maschine but switched because the workflow felt confining. Love all the instruments and plugins though. I’ve been on the iPad/Loopy Pro train and would absolutely get a Maschine+ if I can use it outside of the NI ecosystem.
We just need the lock feature. How cool would it be to load a kit and lock a channel and the pattern. The be able to load another kit to replace everything but the channel you locked. Instead I have to load another group and kit to audition and browse samples and patterns only to then copy and paste a complex hi hat groove into my drum group it’s long!! It’s a simple feature! Please add it 😢
I needed one good all around capable midi controller with drum pads, that i can use with all my Daws.. So that´s why i bought a second hand Maschine mk3 controller and got the Maschine software with it. Haven´t use the software because i didn´t have time and nerves to learn it, but the controller itself works well with my other Daws. I use it to control Fl Studio, Bitwig and Ableton. I use scripts that are made for that and i have enough functionality over my Daws. I bought this specific controller because i found out that there are well made scripts for the Daws i was using.
You know what would make this video so much better (in my opinion)? Video editing - cutting examples of what you are talking about into the video, when you talk about the various ways you use the Maschine within Cubase. We will see shortly what exactly they have included in the updates. It will need to be pretty damn substantial to be worth an additional $200 just for an update, but the problem is from my experience they aren’t great at highlighting all you can do with a Maschine in their update summaries, and I don’t want to pay all that money just to find out the changes are just a bit of dressing on top of the old Maschine 2 software.
NI just added a Maschine ideas forum (limited to five topics for now). So 3.0 might be around the corner! As far as new idea, I sure would love if the full version of Maschine 3.0 would run on an M1+ iPad. That and a Mikro mk3 would be an amazing mobile production platform. I'd buy it instantly, even for full desktop price.
Thanks for the update I didn’t know that! Ima have to go check it out😁 and New Micro would be super amazing and a Mobile app that is fully featured would be literally a Dream come true!!! I know they have their app but having the actual Maschine software on iPad would soo fire 🔥
Great vid D! I'd love for Maschine to release the transport controls as well. I started learning music production through Maschine and the Maschine 2.0 software. I love it so much, but as I get more advanced with my music, I see that I'll have to use another DAW, and I've been starting to pick up Ableton. I'd love to be able to use Maschine more seamlessly in a DAW because the expansions are amazing like you said, and browsing sounds through Maschine is so efficient.
We have similar stories. I started with the Maschine as well and love it, but as I grow and want to do more I’m slowly switching over to another DAW for my production. There is no better ECO system out there than Maschine and Native instruments. Thank you for commenting!🙏🏾
I’d like to see some sort of performance mode when arranging in song mode, meaning I’d like to be able to record track mutes and knob movements and have the software to to remember how the knobs and mutes were tweaked upon playback, jus get me there and I’d be super gud. I jus wonder what’s going on over @NI. As you can see Image line listens to what the core users want, not just what NI deems as you need this or that without asking the big big question of “ what would y’all like to see in the next Maschine update “ it’s really that simple. So if it’s not a DAW it can’t be a one stop shop as it’s currently advertised. Jus my .50cts
I Want midi routing between vsts Stems sep in the sampler Use MP3s Pianoroll fl style Reearrange effect chains drag n drop style Etc etc Not crying out for a new Maschine but would be cool to see what it would be .. Super duper cheers
I believe they leveling the the bar with having a MK3 of both. When they drop the trailer, I thought Maschine Kontrol Studio...but turned out to be a Kontrol MK3...the M32 might get upgrade first . But Maschine 3.0 will set Flagship when drop.
Maschine+ 1.5 with Maschine 2.17.5 update, added VST3 support (for Maschine+ compatible content), a fix for Reaktor patch loading, and updates for all NI plugins. Update directly from your unit's WiFi-connected Settings page." - Thought you might want to know - don't see anyone talking about it yet! Email received 5 hours ago
When I'm making music, I need the least amount of friction. Ableton with Push and Komplete Kontrol MK3 is the best workflow I ever had. I have Maschine plus, but I'm selling it. I also have MPC Live 2, and MPC Key 61. I really like Maschine but I'm not trying to wait for an update. IF they drop a new one, I'll cop it then.
@@lartisan6274 I only use the MPC in stand alone so far. And ended up keeping the Maschine lol wasn’t selling fast enough and I got second thoughts. Tbh I think the software of the Maschine is better but I learned it first so its always weird to go to another workflow. I get it now and I’m digging it. The workflow is better on the Maschine for me but the actual MPC hardware is better for a bunch of reasons. The sound is also on point. Ableton still the best for me though.
I really like this idea. And if they could get the hardware to auto-map to some other drum plugins as well like Komplete Kontrol does that would be amazing too! What if Maschine controller could auto-map to XO from XLN or if Arturia comes out with some drum machine plugins as I think we'll see that in the new v-collection, there is a new NKS standard for drumming plugins. Yes I hate writing/composin the midi in Maschine software as a plugin and then exporting it out in various workflows to the daw. Too much work to make it worth it. Spot on brotha! Cheers!
I absolutely love XLN audio drums and have been using them a lot here lately in Cubase. Having them Map inside of Maschine would be so amazing m! Thank you for commenting!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I would like a Maschine software that finally has real DAW features. Or at least an additional NI MASCHINE 16 or 23 channel mixer controller. Maybe via USB-C as a hub where I can connect NIM and other NI controllers. That way I would only have one USB C/TB4 connection and all NI controllers on one port.
D, great video and the time and effort placed into it. Also, really dug your video with the Auto Sampler with NI’s own. If I had to request something, it would be having the ability to actually send a midi clock / mtc to a daw to control the parameters/timeline from the Maschine software itself triggered by the software of course, to have the flexibility for precise control. If they can do that, then the second thing would be to have better Audio I/O for routing and sending processed audio directly out from groups or sounds or even your master channel. Mainly, to have the option to send out anything as you would desire within your DAW. As per a standalone unit, it would be neat to have 8 outs which gives you massive control through 16 independent sounds times eight at your leisure and flexibility. (A dream lol) I have spent countless hours trying to configure it this way to work in tangent with my daw, however it was a battle and I had achieved it with Pro Tools Audio Bridge but with the lack of Midi Clock and MTC from Maschine, it was not possible to control my DAW transport with Maschine. Mind you, working with Maschine and your DAW separately, not as a plugin. This would be really neat if they can, imagine USB out and into a class compliant mixer? From the Maschine, and you can then select your individual sounds, individual groups and or anything by selecting it’s path to an output towards a dedicated input via the mixer as an audio interface connection. Which a similar standalone unit does this already. That would be instant joy, and then that output gets rewired back into your DAW for however many channels, hit record on the DAW and let the Maschine play and record, and then control your Kontrol S3 with an Arturia synth in your DAW, then go back add some FX to your Maschine sequences, mute some stuff and go wild all syncopated for production purposes or even live performances or anything. It would be a bliss to have that control and user freedom for open ended flexibility. Once again, my apologies, rambled on. Been day one user since the launch and the orange pads, it’s been a long time I feel everyone’s pain and all I can say is, hang in there everyone. Nothing but love and peace ✌🏽
@@creativedwill Thank you! For constantly being who you are, also, in terms of Cubase - As a long time Logic user, is it worth the transition into it? Or Studio One? If you had to give feedback? Been wanting to change over to a new DAW and I cannot seem to figure it out yet.
I bn a Cubaser since day 1. The Sequencing is dope. I like to have slight tempo changes in my compositions to give them a more human quality. Also, when I compose a piece, I don't always be 4/4 all through the song. Sometimes, i need to use different time signatures throughout the composition. This is impossible to do on Maschine. Also the maschine doesn't fully integrate with Cubase. It's a pita !! I have a mikro mk2 with all the expansion packs. They are really great sounds, but unfortunately the Maschine's lack of complete integration doesn't make the workflow a good thing. I don't understand why NI made this device so *'un-sharing'* with other hardware(?). After learning everything abt the Maschine, my next step was to incorporate it into Cubase. *That's when I hit a brickwall !!* It was so discouraging that I no longer use my Maschine. It just sits next to my 88 controller for eye candy. I use Cubase's Sampler Tracks for quick beat making. It's just as fast as Maschine or Fl Studio.., so there was nothing really to gain in having Maschine in the 1st place bc *I thought that it had regular intergration* like any other Midi Device. *Boy how wrong was I !!* If you are into making beats, it's fine. But it's a lil' cubersome for a Pianist/Guitarist like me who is used to the DAW workflow. The intergration-coding is the worst of any gear that I've ever seen. I *firmly believe* that it was *intentionally* done by NI to *'dongle-ize'* their product I'm so glad that I never bought any of their top tier models bc, i would of bn very disappointed. The sound library is actually better than the actual Hardware 🤷🏽♂️ wtf NI.
I 100 % agree with your thoughts! I have had the same issues with trying to get Maschine to work in Cubase. If they made it more integrative it would a game changer for me. Maschine Drum library and Sound library is so good, and with Cubase it would be literally a perfect workflow
Exactly @@creativedwill 💯 The *Maschine,* is *actually* a *Giant Dongle.* Reminds me of the days when you had to have an *'M-Audio Soundcard'* for in order to be able to run Pro-Tools software. *In fact,* NI has been using this *EXACT SAME* antiquated *'bundled' marketing strategy.* Eventually, NI will learn the hard way just like Pro-Tools did. I think that Maschine's *'dongle-ized development'* has just abt reached the end of the road. Ppl are finally catching on to this *'Dongle of an Instrument'!!* - all FACTS👈🏾
I want them to just sell the current owners an expansion dock that has a battery, subwoofer, and 4 speakers. They could put an output expansion like the Akai did BITD for 8-16 analog outputs. They could make a lot of money doing that and it would be a quick addition to current gear that would need very minimal engineering. They could make it supplement and compliment the processing power of the Maschine+ by bridging the bus power for the CPU and RAM lanes. They could even make a premium dock that would have a laptop hinged touch screen OLED display to be able to easily draw waveforms or edit EQ spectrums or draw automation etc. A real easy thing they could do would be to allow USB/bluetooth track pad connections or stylus that could interface with the 2 small screens. They don't need to develop a whole new deck, just make a modular enhancements work more regular software updates. I want MPE support! I want better Cubase integration! I want tighter exclusive Kontrol MK2 MK3 keyboard integration. They really need to do something, AKAI killing it, now PUSH, Elektron, etc. They need to update the software with easier composition tools too.
I have seen a lot of opinion that says NI intend to leave the Machine series. I could see that the MK 3, having a natural place in the computer environment, might get new integration features but as the Maschine plus was designed as a stand alone, I think updates will be geared up for that disconnected work.
The Maschine v2 software needs a major update in the main UI. Just look at the Maschine browser, preferences, dialogs and font rendering, or some of those microscopic tiny icons you have to click on. It is old and pure eye- and hand-strain. Luckily, they started to modernize parts 🙏🐌🙄
There is automation that works pretty good. Still, I prefer logic for doing automation. What I would like to see is where you can switch from the timeline that native instruments uses, to a full wave style like the rest. I like the way the maschine software works, but we really need the wave style timeline. I wouldn’t have to do risers the way I do them if I could have automation on a wav form within their software.
I would love have a note repeater/arpegiator by sound separated by the group, custom chord set per group , and a macro collection from all the sesión to make more fluid jams!… also… know what about the Bluetooth integration?
I love love NI expansions and their gear. The software is great but has potential to be a force in the production game. It’s long overdue for a major overhaul especially when the newest keyboard can’t be used with it. FL has the DAW game in a chokehold right now. Akai and Ableton both have dropped new controllers in the last few months, and has given people more options when it comes to groove boxes. Too much going on for NI not to update one or the other.
I think I figured out what my issue was ... I was trying to use a pattern twice without duplicateing it twice .... in my maschine & the way I am doing things ... it seems to work a lot better if I wanna use some pattern 2 or 3 times to have 2 or 3 different copies of the pattern
I have a question about the Maschine MK3 .... My scenes keep jumping on top of each other or linking together it seems like a constant struggle .... is this a normal struggle with the Maschine or is there something else going on ????
It’s sounds like there is something you are doing wrong, this isn’t normal. Could you follow me and IG and send me a video of what it’s doing? I can try and walk you through it. @creativedwill
thank you for letting me know .... Making a video is beyond me right now ... But now that I know that it's not normal I can pursue in the right direction ... I'll try a few more things ... if all fails maybe I can go down to sweet water & have someone walk me through it . @@creativedwill
I will call them tomorrow & go from there , also I may be laying the maschine aside for a while , at the same time kinda like to figure this out while it's fresh in my mind. ... yes live about an hour north of sweetwater ... I remember when they where just another music store ... @@creativedwill
On the hardware side I'd like to see a Maschine Mk4 similar to their new controllers with just one big screen instead of two & the ability to customize the color like they did with the Maschine MK2. On the software side definitely MP3 support. Better GUI for their stock plugins and better editing capabilities.
I am beginner so maybe I am wrong but I will say what I need: 1- automation clips like flstudio 2- auto key between samples like virtual DJ that change the tune automatically 3- the possiblity to control Maschine software with multiple traktor kontrol F1 with Maschine MK3 at the same time 4-when you Open maschine in FL studio the transport buttons they do not work 5-note repeat in a single pad Without having to touch the bite repeat button like MPC, when you touch Note repeat it affects the rest of the pads And that completely ruins the my workflow 6- loop mode in the Sampler, I only can repeat a sample in Audio not in the Sampler 7- right click to Link to controller like flstudio, when you work with third party VSTs you can't Link to controller the parameters just making right click like flstudio and is very uncomfortable 8- a way to lock the mute button, some times you can touch it by accident 9- a better browser like (sample manager vst) 10- the possibility to add images to your own libraries like native instruments libraries because is ver dificult to find them 11- preference menu on the software loads Very slow and the Menu aesthetics looks like window XP software 12- doesn't show you help or the name of the user interface buttons when you put the mouse On like Photoshop, so you always need that Someone explain to you what each button is for. 13- draw and drop a sample from the DAW , you can draw and Drop the sample From maschine But when you want to put that edited sample back into Maschine it is not possible 14- a better way to tag and organize your Library in Maschine, is very dificult to work with multiple folders is better to use sample manager
Maschine v3 lifesign. Since I can't post the direct link , I am trying to make a citation instead ;) Source is the Maschine community forum and the title is: More information on future updates M+ Matthew_NI (Product Team) wrote on July 5th: "Since I was tagged here - I'm happy to comment. We have a generational software update (Maschine 3) in the works, due out later this year, which will of course be compatible with Maschine Plus. Meanwhile, there are some smaller interim updates coming (a Maschine Plus update is in test right now, and we hope to have it out in the next few weeks, for instance). If there's any doubt as to why we run surveys, I'd hope the motivation is clear: to inform next steps (which heavily implies there are some)."
Great video. The issue is have with Maschine that a that I have to stop producing and spend time routing outputs or dragging and dropping individual tracks into my DAW because maschine only allows you to monitor the sounds and does not automatically route the audio. Akai beats the Maschine in this aspect because whatever I sequence in the akai software automatically route the audio inside my DAW. So it can start using my fx plug ins right away and mix as I go. This is a major thumbs down for the Maschine workflow.
I already love the Maschine+ as a purely standalone easy to use and very capable groovebox as is, but one thing I would like to see would be real time/live quantized playing like the DJS-1000 and SP-16 have. I don't know what witchcraft Pioneer uses, but it makes my otherwise sloppy playing, sound in time and pro when jamming along ideas. Those would my choices for live playing if I were a live sampling DJ or performer, and sounds especially killer for stabs and percussive elements in more uptempo genres like old school electro, techno
Thank you so much for commenting!🙏🏾 Are you talking about Auto quantization? If so, the Plus does have that feature that allows you to play in time live
@@creativedwill Thanks for the reply. I've been through the Project > Quantize settings in the General section of settings, but none have replicated the tight playing i'm talking about. There is no Auto Quantize setting there though, so will have to see if I can find out how to get to what you're talking about. Hope you're right! Thanks again.
Sorry, just pulled up a bleep in Quantize Mode Play/Rec on a track and you were 100% correct. My bad. I was obviously not using the correct sound sources when I was testing this. Thanks for the great tip and making me retry this.
I know is not a daw but if they would make it easier to arrange beats. What I mean is they can have a Tab on top like an extra window where you can arrange quicker and more efficient. Make automation better. is shouldn't be hard. If they things to save people time. Now don't get me wrong I can make a draft almost finish beat in 5 to 10 minutes is super quick, But after that to make a complete production with out having to pull out a DAW. Again we get it is not a Daw and they don't have to be. That's my thought on that. But I still love Maschine I use it every day. and I will continue to use it for the quickness on creating, Also, You mention using cubase is it working out?
Me and one of my buddies were literally just talking about this lol. They should definitely give us more DAW like features! That would put them in another league
@@creativedwill lol I’m saying!! It would be my main main but for now I’m going to try what you did with Cubase and probably run it inside and just dragging the audio files in cubase from maschine and just muting as I go. So then I can go back and edit my midi if I have to.
After you arrange your beat remove all the plugins and midi but leave the patterns and scenes then Save it as a template. That way when you make a new beat the arrangement basically done already, i might tweak it to make the beat progress a little bit different but it saves a ton of time.
@@GritsNGravy wait and that works meaning you don’t have to paste the midi in every other pattern it will show up in every single one? If I start to make a beat on patter one it will show in pattern 5? Or do I have to paste the midi?
@@Beatsnmotivation Correct, if its the same pattern the midi notes will show up on each pattern. This video demonstrates how to do it: ruclips.net/video/UmOIYv47FqE/видео.html
@creativedwill First, thank you for all your impressive videos. It has helped me a lot. Please keep it up! I have an off-topic request. Can you do a tutorial on scratching using the Maschine stripe? And maybe some other 3rd Party scratching plugin?
I used cubase for years then reason but 2017 i got a mk3 and its been ni ever since. Tons of exp and a few komplete upgrades ....only thing i need is audio tracks and for maschine software to except komplete kontrol like cubase does so i can use my kontrol s61 with all functions with my maschine mk3 and software
I’m hoping they have an update to allow it to work in the Maschine Software. It would be dope to use it fully inside the Maschine Software. Thanks for commenting 🙏🏾
Dude using maschine standalone is SO fuxking fast once you get it down. Other than recording vocals maschine kills it . I’m just used to it , it’s so damn fast with the workflow
If they really want to be considered a DAW that piano roll needs a big upgrade. Especially after the latest piano roll upgrade for FL Studio. Same goes for Akai and their piano roll with the MPC.
I'm not interested in using Maschine in my DAW. The workflow in the Maschine software IS the workflow, NI just need to make it better. More intuitive time stretching (like in Serato or SP404), easier tracking of external signals like vocals and guitars without having to use the sampler, master track automation, and new innovative resampling options would be awesome.
*I do the vast majority of my work in Maschine, and then I export the stems into bandlab, lay my vocals and finish it there. Bandlab isn't as functional as other DAW's, but it's simple and intuitive in a way that no other DAW is. Plus I can go back and forth between desktop and phone so easily, which is really handy for writing, recording and mixing on the move. The problem with most DAW's is that they're designed for nerdy producer/engineers that like the complexity, but for a beat maker and recording artist like me, they're too complicated. I need limitations to get something finished, I can't work within endless possibilities like that. The paradox of choice is a killer.*
Man i absolutely love this response!! “I need limitations to get something finished”🤯! I feel you 100%. I do find that when I’m in Cubase with 1 million options / ways of doing things and the endless plugins I have the paradox of choice… But for what I do as a content creator and someone that teaches, I need it all for my Professional work and to show others how to use it all. Great post thank you so much for commenting!🙏🏾
Hmm, haven't thought of that, to make the Maschine Plugin to integrate better instead of turning it in a full on DAW, which could be a monstrous endeavour. Very good idea. I use my Maschine Plus mostly as an interface using Ableton, because I also hate the step between the awesome Maschine cookup and then transferring it into Ableton. Using the Maschine Plugin in Ableton doesn't really work. It's also VERY sad that the Maschine is on the desk and has the SAME buttons as the KK keyboards, but they cannot control the DAW!! The KK plugin does not have an FX only version for using the Native workflow for fx only...Maschine has one, but you have to manually switch instances all the time instead if having it change on the hardware when you change the track autimatically like KK does.... I understand that Maschine and KK come from different worlds, but they need to grow together for perfect DAW integration (WITHOUT forcing us to buy new hardware).
I agreeeee!!! They definitely need to grow together!!! I feel like both are needed for different styles of production in which I do. Thank you for commenting!!🙏🏾🙏🏾
They should have like versions of it like a professional version, a medium version, and a super daw version just like a Samsung phone and speaking of phones, they should have a app for a Android and Apple but no oh yeah and add some colors to it like get skins for it. I'm on the simple style. I guess you would be on the technical side
I have the MK3 I wish they would just upgrade the Maschine software because it's great to me Native Instruments should just follow FL's piano roll capabilities and make to where you can record multiple tracks to strictly create the whole project using Maschine I think NI should surprise us with a MK3 or + that looks like the old Akai MPK 49 that would make my year!!!!
I'm not sure I understand what your problem is with having to export sounds from Maschine? If you just want to use a sound from Maschine within your Cubase project you can, as you say, just use it as an instrument: forget about all the sequencing capabilities, just add an instance of Maschine to a track, load the group you want, set it to map the pads to midi notes and you're read to play it in Cubase just like you'd play groove agent or any other drum plugin.
If you used Studio One, you wouldn’t have to export and import your sounds from Maschine. You could transform the midi track to audio with the midi still in the background to flip back and make changes if needed.
i did longtime , made a template etc.. Midi to audio or midi. But there is AtomSQ, had to be use with Impact, its look cool for total control of the daw. I will try again too to integrate because i dont use maschine no more, because i need the daw power about editing and stuff
Muting and unmuting notes in midi clips to tests ideas on the fly in a non-destructive fashion would be soooooo easy to implement… Also, more than 16 external midi channels Like, every group should have 16 dedicated midi channels, be it external or internals. Like Vienna ensemble pro for example…
To ask the question of whether maschine is DAW, the official answer is yes and no. Yes, in the manner of software, no in the manner of hardware. After all, DAW stands for digital audio workstation. Maschine software is simply a stripped-down version that creates a faster workflow. Generally speaking, all DAWs function the same. The only difference is proprietary names to those functions. No one DAW is better than the next. Choosing a specific DAW is all in the manner of perspective. This is why I prefer to work strictly in maschine from start to finish, resulting in creating a pro quality industry ready sound as if it was made in a high-end studio. It's about deeply knowing your craft and tools. The whole idea and question of whether maschine is a DAW is quite trivial. The only reason why it's not considered simply is because Reason said it wasn't, and we all know Native Instruments and Reason are big competitors. There's been a lot of gut punching between the two. Its good for us, bad for them. Long story short, if you find something you're comfortable with, use it. It's not about the hardware or software but how you use them. At the end of the day, it's really about the music, not what you used to make.
They won't make it into a DAW bc it would probably require a completely different Hardware model, rendering all prior models useless. The coding would be vastly different. Yes!! The hardware will have to have a completely different IC chip integrated onto it's hardware motherboard. I don't believe that it would be downward compatible for older models, and no upward compatibility for older models. NI Maschine has ran itself into a Stone Wall as they stumble on what to do next. Exactly. There's really nothing else that they can do to maschine but probably incorporate a very weak automation for maybe tempo or meter changes - one or the other, but they'll never give you both of these essential sequencing functions. NEVER 😡
Will, why do you bother? NI is tonedeaf. Deeply. Seriously. Completely. I use Maschine and Reaper. And I have CE 13 and will buy 15. That software is cool. But Maschine is treated like an unwanted stepchild. Of course you are right. I create loops in Maschine and export them by drag and drop into Reaper. It works pretty fast.
6 months since my comment : not a peep from NI : I think they are abandoning Maschine they just fell for far behind .................. The worst part is they do not talk to users
Yeah, they gotta do something soon! There will definitely be an update soon this year. I’m pretty sure, they kinda have to at this point or a lot of people will be jumping ship and get upset.
@@creativedwill FL just dropped 2024 : and it's killer, I'm dumping maschine for good now Got a generous Holliday discount from Image Line : This might even explain NI's not attempting to update anymore, 4 significant FL updates vs NI zero 🤔 I believe this would require Maschine software to be completely rewritten and redesigned ..... It all makes sense Cheers 🥂 🥂
Agreee Agree Agreee! Good stuff!!! Thanks for commenting!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
@@husmega that’s huge!!!!
Or the ability to import MP3’s lol
Would love to be able to arm groups for recording individually!
^ Community expands with surreal love and respect. You both are great.
Cubaser since SX3. Been heavily investing buying every upgrade since 7.
Thank you so much for commenting!!🙏🏾🙏🏾 Hopefully we will see those DAW integrations in the future up date!
Been contemplating the same thing. They need to release source code for community development like Synthstrom Deluge just did. Roli been had that.
That is amazing combo! Yea, the limitations do force you to be creative and find work arounds. Thanks for commenting!
I agree. It definitely pushes me to try new things to solve Maschine limitation issue lol
MPE was my same comment. Def doable
For me as a hobby beat maker, Maschine have almost everything what I need, but I’ve get your point as a professional. And i hope You will get what You need from them soon. Peace!
You are exactly right!! I have been thinking the same thing
Thanks for commenting 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Software side
1.A regular timeline
2.Modern piano roll
3. Deeper integration with other DAWs
Hardware side
3.Maschine MK4
4.Maschine Jam MK2
I have never tired the Jam. An Jam MK2 would be so dope! Thanks for commenting!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Indeed the Jam was killed of without a replacement also (like the S8, S5, D2, and Z2), and there new hardware SUCKS big time. Send back a X1 mk3 before it was officially released (way to strong center nudge on the pots).
1 - capture jam like ableton
!!!1!1!1!!1!1!!!1!1!!!
2 - automation curves
3 - electron style sequencer ( conditional trigs etc )
Improved routing and transport controls to use via daw and overall better daw integration
Ima have to check out the Electron Sequencer! I think you are 100% right with your other suggestions!🙏🏾 Better DAW integration would change a lot for me!
Broooo, I was saying this same thing on my livestream last week!!! Yes yes yes!!! Great video!!
Right!! It would make life a lot easier and they would take over the game!! Thanks for commenting!
@@creativedwill I agree bro!!
Long time cubase user since 5.0 and agree maschine should just let they software play nice in a real DAW..
Cubase for life💪🏾💪🏾😁! Thank you for commenting!
Thank you for commenting!🙏🏾 I have a very similar workflow as you. The Maschine is so powerful and I really rock with it!
Cubas is absolutely amazing! The best DAW in my opinion😊! If they make the Maschine work seemly, they are going to change the game!
I gotta upgrade still on 10.5 😅
I use Maschine as a sort of a front end for all sequencing. After I send stems out to my DAW. One update wish is to have meter changes with in each pattern in a group. Also time Quantize to be I little more flexible. Interested to see if they’ll ever integrate Maschine into Kontrol MK3.
@@park171 good stuff! I hope they integrate these changes as well!💯
Can u make a video showing your Cubase workflow, thinking about moving from ableton because of all the new Cubase 13 features
Yeah I really hope they fix that. Thanks for commenting!🙏🏾
NI's March community update mentions:
"We recognize the need for bigger strides forward for Traktor and Maschine. Both will receive long-overdue software updates this year, with improvements that bring new creative tools and a clean, modern interface"
They also had a survey for maschine users to take. That multiple choice survey required the user to select potential features that would be most and least important to them.
Some of the features that were options included:
Stem separation, realtime stretching, work with other NI hardware, powerful sequencer enhancements, poly after touch, pianoroll improvements with zoom, effects integration, mp3 and other saving formats, sampler enhancements and a few other things that I forget!
I choose E all of the above!!!😁😁🔥 We need all of that! I am super excited to see what they come up with!
😅 same here! All of the above!
You can load Maschine as a plugin but yes I agree we need this function because running it as a plugin you can't even full-screen Maschine while its a plugin. Another thing they NEED to fix.
Thank you for commenting 🙏🏾 Yeah, if they make Maschine play well with other DAWs this would be so dope
@@creativedwill I've also found that as a plug-in it has 8 stereo ins and outs so you can route anything to an input on your daw but still control with Maschine VST, you just need to route each group or single instrument to the ext outs in Maschine. I used this with ableton and Harrison mixbus with great results, I think Cubase will work too
We want converters better than MPC 3000, large touch screen, midi 2.0, Bluetooth 2.0 or higher, sliders, stand-alone capabilities, mpe welcomed.
Yes yes & yes!!!! That would be soo amazing!!
That sounds like a super dope workflow! Ima have to see if I can do this in Cubase
I think this works in any daw ruclips.net/video/xq7ozy9bL8o/видео.htmlsi=jSuNQ0iASpIQRPsK
I started out on a Maschine but switched because the workflow felt confining. Love all the instruments and plugins though. I’ve been on the iPad/Loopy Pro train and would absolutely get a Maschine+ if I can use it outside of the NI ecosystem.
Thanks for sharing!
Please add it 😢
Do you have problem while updating Machine Plus system update? It take sooooo long for me to wait my Machine plus getting restart.
@@solololobro2167 Hey thanks to commenting🙏🏾 No I don’t have that issue, I’m sorry
I bought this specific controller because i found out that there are well made scripts for the Daws i was using.
yeah could have better choice , like novation then
2024 looks like the best year for MK-4 realease))
Yeah I agree!
I have been saying this for years. Great video.
Thank you!!🙏🏾🙏🏾
You know what would make this video so much better (in my opinion)?
@@creativedwill Facts man! Love your content. Looking forward to more
I’d like to see some sort of performance mode when arranging in song mode, meaning I’d like to be able to record track mutes and knob movements and have the software to to remember how the knobs and mutes were tweaked upon playback, jus get me there and I’d be super gud.

I Want midi routing between vsts
Stems sep in the sampler
Use MP3s
Pianoroll fl style
Reearrange effect chains drag n drop style

Not crying out for a new Maschine but would be cool to see what it would be ..
Super duper cheers
The users deserve a update😒 And I mean a BIG UPDATE

I believe they leveling the the bar with having a MK3 of both. When they drop the trailer, I thought Maschine Kontrol Studio...but turned out to be a Kontrol MK3...the M32 might get upgrade first . But Maschine 3.0 will set Flagship when drop.
I’m really hoping they do something next year! 🙏🏾 Thank you for commenting!

IF they drop a new one, I'll cop it then.
so u prefer MPC or Maschine ? the software of MPC look better dunno
(A dream lol)
I have spent countless hours trying to configure it this way to work in tangent with my daw, however it was a battle and I had achieved it with Pro Tools Audio Bridge but with the lack of Midi Clock and MTC from Maschine, it was not possible to control my DAW transport with Maschine.
You don’t need to apologize lol 😂! Thats what this platform is for. The more input we have the better! Thank you so much for your thoughts!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
@@creativedwill Thank you! For constantly being who you are, also, in terms of Cubase - As a long time Logic user, is it worth the transition into it? Or Studio One? If you had to give feedback? Been wanting to change over to a new DAW and I cannot seem to figure it out yet.
@patrickhatri No problem, I personally think Cubase is the best way to go. I believe they have an trail version you can try as well
@@creativedwill Done and done brother. Will keep you updated. Thank you again for your patience and staying in touch with the producer community. ✌🏽
*Boy how wrong was I !!*
If you are into making beats, it's fine.
Exactly @@creativedwill 💯
The *Maschine,* is *actually* a *Giant Dongle.* Reminds me of the days when you had to have an *'M-Audio Soundcard'* for in order to be able to run Pro-Tools software.
Great suggestion!
This is what I am looking for! Native Instruments I will pay for the upgrade if it has this capability and you unlock the transport!
I would pay for it in a heartbeat!!! 😂 They don’t have to do much!
I use Maschine VST and use the transport to control Logic. Best of both worlds.
I would love have a note repeater/arpegiator by sound separated by the group, custom chord set per group , and a macro collection from all the sesión to make more fluid jams!… also… know what about the Bluetooth integration?
Good stuff!🙏🏾🙏🏾
100% !!
I love your perspective!! Thank you for commenting!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

On the hardware side I'd like to see a Maschine Mk4 similar to their new controllers with just one big screen instead of two & the ability to customize the color like they did with the Maschine MK2. On the software side definitely MP3 support. Better GUI for their stock plugins and better editing capabilities.

I am beginner so maybe I am wrong but I will say what I need:
1- automation clips like flstudio
2- auto key between samples like virtual DJ that change the tune automatically
3- the possiblity to control Maschine software with multiple traktor kontrol F1 with Maschine MK3 at the same time
4-when you Open maschine in FL studio the transport buttons they do not work
5-note repeat in a single pad Without having to touch the bite repeat button like MPC, when you touch Note repeat it affects the rest of the pads And that completely ruins the my workflow
6- loop mode in the Sampler, I only can repeat a sample in Audio not in the Sampler
7- right click to Link to controller like flstudio, when you work with third party VSTs you can't Link to controller the parameters just making right click like flstudio and is very uncomfortable
8- a way to lock the mute button, some times you can touch it by accident
9- a better browser like (sample manager vst)
10- the possibility to add images to your own libraries like native instruments libraries because is ver dificult to find them
11- preference menu on the software loads Very slow and the Menu aesthetics looks like window XP software
12- doesn't show you help or the name of the user interface buttons when you put the mouse On like Photoshop, so you always need that Someone explain to you what each button is for.
13- draw and drop a sample from the DAW , you can draw and Drop the sample From maschine But when you want to put that edited sample back into Maschine it is not possible
14- a better way to tag and organize your Library in Maschine, is very dificult to work with multiple folders is better to use sample manager
You have had time to think about this list lol! Thank you so much for commenting! Love your ideas!

Good stuff🙏🏾 Thanks for the info!!
@@Jiglo71 awesome glad you found it🙏🏾 Thanks for commenting!
Word of today.. Daaaa daaaa daaaau daw
lol Facts 💯😂
@creativedwill
First, thank you for all your impressive videos. It has helped me a lot. Please keep it up!
I have an off-topic request. Can you do a tutorial on scratching using the Maschine stripe? And maybe some other 3rd Party scratching plugin?
Great suggestion! I will try to knock it out!!!
Yo what is that beat playing in the background. Its banging
Dude using maschine standalone is SO fuxking fast once you get it down. Other than recording vocals maschine kills it . I’m just used to it , it’s so damn fast with the workflow
I agree the workflow is amazing and is the main reason why I would never let it go!😊
when the update releases are we gonna have to pay for it ???
That’s a great question! Thank you for commenting!
If they really want to be considered a DAW that piano roll needs a big upgrade. Especially after the latest piano roll upgrade for FL Studio. Same goes for Akai and their piano roll with the MPC.
Yeah it would be super dope if they updated the piano roll! Especially for folks that don’t play instruments like me 😂
I've been trolling NI for a long time : and they finally replied - something is coming
and they did not abandon M software, that's all I have
Cheers 🥂
I'm not interested in using Maschine in my DAW. The workflow in the Maschine software IS the workflow, NI just need to make it better. More intuitive time stretching (like in Serato or SP404), easier tracking of external signals like vocals and guitars without having to use the sampler, master track automation, and new innovative resampling options would be awesome.
These are great ideas and would be dope! Thanks for commenting 🙏🏾
@@creativedwill keep up the good work bro!
@@joelharvey thank you!
Try kit maker to convert your expansions and drag them into groove agent
Hey, thank you for commenting! Yeah this is the my current workflow. 🙏🏾
Cubase Is The Best 🔥
Agreed!!!🔥🔥💪🏾😁
By whole "project" I mean make instrumetal and then record vocals... because you can mix and Master in Maschine to be honest!!!!
That would definitely make my year as well lol!!!
@@creativedwill I'm waiting patiently.... Native Instruments thanks in advance..I'm just sending positive vibes out into the Universe... 😆
That’s very interesting, ima have to try this out to see how it works! thanks for commenting!
i did longtime , made a template etc.. Midi to audio or midi. But there is AtomSQ, had to be use with Impact, its look cool for total control of the daw. I will try again too to integrate because i dont use maschine no more, because i need the daw power about editing and stuff
Muting and unmuting notes in midi clips to tests ideas on the fly in a non-destructive fashion would be soooooo easy to implement…
Also, more than 16 external midi channels
Like, every group should have 16 dedicated midi channels, be it external or internals.
Like Vienna ensemble pro for example…
Thank you for commenting!! Great ideas 💡!
I love your perspective thank you for commenting!🙏🏾
Bru if I wasn't so deep in Logic I'd switch to Cubase in a heartbeat haha
Cubasis is definitely dope!! Especially for Scoring Film and Music theory features! Thanks for commenting bro!
WE NEED STEMS !
Facts!!!
Yeah but cubase donot support old VS plugins.
We need stereo to mono for samples
Facts!!🙏🏾🙏🏾😊
Maschine literally IS a DAW. Not the best but it 1,000 percent IS a DAW.
Stems would be ideal, and finding chord progressions on samples…
That would be sooooo Dope!!!
They have been so silent, maybe we will get something for the new year.
Definitely hoping for something next year 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
Lol how is it a headache? It's literally drag and drop bruh.
Just make it a DAW.
Agreed! 💯
NEVER 😡
Yeah they should’ve made integration a long time ago. That’s the one thing I can’t stand
Native instruments is a money grab. They make workflow a headache slow drip features. Like you said.
Maschine v3 is a myth. I legit recall videos on this topic over 5 years ago
Promo>SM 😉
6 months since my comment : not a peep from NI : I think they are abandoning Maschine
they just fell for far behind ..................
The worst part is they do not talk to users
Yeah, they gotta do something soon! There will definitely be an update soon this year. I’m pretty sure, they kinda have to at this point or a lot of people will be jumping ship and get upset.
@@creativedwill FL just dropped 2024 : and it's killer, I'm dumping maschine for good now
Got a generous Holliday discount from Image Line :
This might even explain NI's not attempting to update anymore, 4 significant FL updates vs NI zero 🤔 I believe this would require Maschine software to be completely rewritten and redesigned ..... It all makes sense
