Welcome back to Hillingdon. The site you were on used to be the Nestle factory. If the wind was in the right direction you could smell the coffee for miles away.
Worked in Hayes in the early 60's As you say, the whole place smelt of Nescafe. On the other side of the tracks was the old EMI Record Factory punching out 45's.
Great video as usual . Appreciate the guy on the radio was trying to help but that would do my head in . Just tell me if I'm going to hit something otherwise let me reverse it in .
Hi Sherralin, another great video. It aint all jolly continental. Done my share of tip and reload uk before you can get back to tootling over the continent. But.... It all fills the pay packet🤣🤣🤣 Love your vids, like to hear more of that V8. Volvos don't have that "audio prescence". Did over 750,000 miles in a 141 so I'm biased.🤗 Take care MARK uk
Oh my goodness, it's the UK and there are blue skies and sunshine.😎😎 Do you find it beneficial to have somebody instructing you when you are reversing or would you rather just be left to your own devices?" Keep it coming, " seems to be a bit of a redundant instruction. I think you would describe that site as organised chaos.🤣🤣 I really enjoy your videos but this one and the one where we saw the squirrel, really struck a chord with me, don't know why.🤔🤔 Happy trucking.
Sherilline, you made me laugh when you were enlightening us about the health and safety person. It takes us back to the time when cars started out on roads. A man walked out in front of the car to warn people to clear the way. In some ways, the old way is the best way!!. Safe travels, Sarah from Tasmania.
Lovely day to be delayed I guess😊 like you say Ms.B it would be so much easier if they just let you back in on your own (in the quiet lol) whilst they just stopped the traffic and pedestrians. Oh well, it is what it is as the saying goes. Thanks for posting😊😊
In the US the guy on the ground working with the crane is called the RIGGER because he RIGS the load for the lift. He attaches chains or straps or cables and positions those chains or straps or cables to the exact point of the load so that it will lift level and straight. !
We got the traffic guy, the truck director, the banksman, a few general dogsbodies, etc!! Reminds me of a line from a skit (I think) on the telly in the 70's. " ...it all makes work for the working man to do..." Think it was taking the mickey out of the unions. Quite impressive construction site...usual champion driving skills..
There should be a storage area for dropping off loads, so it wouldn't matter whether you turned up first or the lorry with the columns. Its the blind leading the blind, but you definitely kept your cool🤣. But I would have actually had a word with the bloke talking you in, as personally, your thoughts are correct about driving in/back out, and he may not have thought of that, but I've not got further past this bit in the video😂
You had the patience of a saint lol. Majority of building sites never compensate for HGVs , then to add insult to injury half the workers don't know their arse from their elbow lol.
Spent my life bolting steel in booms ( cherry picker) it takes a while to get your sea legs with the movement some guys get kind of seasick when first using them
Black hats in general have better h s e and site management qualifications, your steel load was 305 mm x305 mm by poss 97 or 118kg (per metre ) column sections which are confusingly quite often used as beam s ( horizontal )
That building site looks like the old EMI factory
thats now flats and on the other side of the railway mate
Once again, you've shown your exceptional skills as a truck driver. Love your videos, keep them rolling in 😃.
Thank you 😁
So interesting your videos just enjoy your skills and content, Good wishes. Colin.
Thanks for watching 😁

!
Great name. Thanks for the info 😁
No we would call him a slinger, because he mounts the slings and directs the crane. Riggers bolt things on.
Was in that site about 2 months ago delivering a crane. Its not the easiest to get into.😊
There’s some big cranes! 😁
Anyone know what the building is going to be used for ?
A couple of viewers suggested it was going to be a data hub but someone might know better. 😁

Thanks - something different.

😂😂😂
Just thinking the reason for reversing in is possibly so they don`t lift over the cab?
Yes could be 🤔😁
Used tp go to that site to pick up Nescafe coffee.
Your lorry ulez compliant then? Didn’t think it was euro 6.
Yep, Euro 6
As you said, it would have been easier to drive in to unload, then just reverse straight out?
Yep, must be reason to their madness I guess 🤷🏼♀️
its not HS2 thats the GWR railway from paddington to your right is london after southall hs 2 is about 4 miles east of you just a building site
Thanks for the info 😁
That's a change from the frozen produce you usually deliver
A change is as good as a rest, so they say. 😂😁
They don’t let you drive in forward because if anything slipped it would smash into the cab
Thanks for the info 😁
The guys at the top bolting it all together weren't lifted up there by a crane but with what is called a cherry picker..
Yes 😁
Spent my life bolting steel in booms ( cherry picker) it takes a while to get your sea legs with the movement some guys get kind of seasick when first using them
It’s also a long way up! 😁
They are actually Germany's national bird the Yellow Building Crane
😂😂👍🏻
This site is going to be a data centre by the looks of it.
Could be 🤷🏼♀️😁
i think your right
Wow its hot in the UK 35Dgs in manchester im getting Ballard .Oh i mean bladderd .
Good job you are on hourly rate.
No we’re on a day rate 😁
Thought HS2 was for the Chop
to help UK straighten its finances.
- the A303 improvements are not going ahead.
Some of HS2 was stopped but the bit from London to Birmingham is still going ahead. 😁
Remember carmel house in hayes sherralin loaded out of there quite a lot.
😁👍🏻
Bit of different content for a change. O the hanging about eh. Stay safe x
Nightmare 🤦🏼♀️😂😁
👋....holla....😊
Hi 👋🏻
Now I know what all these boats coming in are for. Security guards🙄
What boats are those? Mersey Ferry? Woolwich Ferry?
