- Today we take a look at Egham Water Works, 57 The Causeway, Staines TW18 3AX.
As we are looking through the front gate we speak to a very informative member of staff who tells us all about what they do inside.
As we are flying the drone, we are approached by another member of staff who mentions Critical National Infrastructure and how that is relevant to what we are doing.
His boss then comes to make the final decision.

Blue van man was brilliant! What a helpful and decent guy…well done to him. A credit to his employer.
Except that he confused silage (stored, fermented grass, animal feed) with slurry (poisonous liquid cattle shit), and doesn't know the name of the water regulator.
Except he was wrong about everything he said nearly.
Hell never get promotion...
He did everything right. He questioned the guy filming, although not part of his role. He promoted the company he is working for and gave a very interesting description of his job. I'd love to do that job, he makes it sound great! Maybe he got some details incorrect, but he did his best and qualified his opinions. He's my favourite character so far on this DJ AUDITS rabbit hole
Couple of wet wipes " There is no clear framework for CNI stakeholders to decide whether a drone is a
threat, and if they determine drones to be as such, there is no legislation in place which
equips stakeholders to deal with that potential threat. " Manchester Metropolitan University
The legislation are the CAA rules moron
"Wet wipes" - said the keyboard warrior. 😂
CNI = Completely Not Interested in whatever they say.
That's the one ha
👌 spot on
That dude in the van was incredible. So much information. I learnt more about UK drinking water in the first 10 mins of this video than I would have reading a news article.
Just where do people get these non existing laws from? Just the same with the mythical privacy laws.
The voices told them. 🤣
🤔Well, this is what makes the work these auditors' do so important! ... Every day you get to learn something new, must be a good day! ... Right? 🤗
Russian Federation BOTS?
Its the laws of self important jobsworthiness
@@Oceans_Saillol that's funny, are you from the Ukrainian troll farm? 77 brigade 🤔, Russia, Russia, Russia 😂😂
First chap in the van was so informative and helpful, a true credit to the company…..
2:50 Good honest comments from the guy in the blue van who explained that government water treatment legislation is inadequate. We need to inform our politicians about this to protect our rivers and environment. Your style is exposing inexcusable government policy DJ.
I'm sure our elected leaders will be laying awake at night worrying about it.
So the water companies just aim to dump as much shit as the government allow.
Lining pockets with expenses and spouting trollop every Wednesday at PM question time
Most politicians don’t care because they are hoping for a lucrative non exec role when they loose their seat
@@Oceans_Saillose*, loose means baggy.
The way his head jerks back when the manager says well let you get on with it
If a CNI was not to be flown over then there would be a no fly zone in place in the same way mlitary bases or MoD sites are. What's really scary is that the people in charge of these sites don't know the laws governing them.
Nothing scary about average people not knowing the laws around drone flying. Why would they? What's more scary is people like this audit man turning up and trying to get a reaction out of people which could potentially land them in trouble.
@@user-rc4zh6mq5f And here we have the comment of a real bootlicker. Are you one of these NPCs wearing a mask because they told you so or one of these brainless drones agitating a Ukrainian flag because that the fashion of the time?
@@user-rc4zh6mq5f They aren't average people, they are workers on a CNI site claiming that they do know the laws. So if they're gonna make the claim, they should actually know the laws.
The chap clearly said he didnt no the laws around drone fying and was simply asking him not to do it. Fair enough in my view as it's slightly intrusive.
@@user-rc4zh6mq5f Admit it. You are the chap. Enjoy the infamy.
Such a shame that they went a bit Speshul after Blue Van Man was so helpful and educational. That was properly interesting to begin with. Still, they remained polite, and to be fair, it _is_ a more critical site than most of the corporate ones, so their belief (while wrong) is more reasonable than usual.
It only becomes critical when you can't get water because it's been contaminated blown up or a cyber attack breaks the system. When that happens, and it will, it will be interesting to see how many opinions change!
I think there are 11 water companies in England and earlier this year they all signed an open letter to the government basically apologising for deliberately letting untreated sewage straight into our rivers thousands of times from over flow drains which are only supposed to be used in emergencies . This should have been an open and shut case of gross negligence with CEO ‘s imprisoned and company’s heavily fined but nothing’s happened ? , and if my memory serves me well Thames water were the worst offenders.
Deffo should have at minimum been fined, ideally, at least the same amount that it would have cost to treat the water - raw sewage dumps are basically cost cutting measures for higher profits/stakeholder payouts.
Egham water treatment works belongs to Affinity water which is a clean, potable drinking water company only. They do not deal with sewage and are nothing to do with Thames water.
CNI means this site produces water for hundreds of thousands of customers including hospitals and airports etc.
So many keyboard warriors on here that think they know, stirring up hate when they really do not have a clue.
Yeah but they apologised for being naughty. If only all criminals knew that that, is all they had to do.
But in this instance affinity water is a clean water only provider so not involved in the discharge of foul/waste water
CNI= Clearly No Idea.
It's also a big No no.
Sampler was a top lad and gave a good account of himself 👍🏻 the Water Industry is regulated by OFWAT and the water quality monitored by the DWI drinking water inspectorate.
Affinity Water need to educate their staff on drone laws it seems 👍🏻
I had a quick look at CNI sites and it seems that as long as its not "hostile", drones are allowed over CNI sites. I understand that there are special bylaws about nuclear plants. But drones can be flown over CNI sites despite it being a "big NO NO".
The things the guy in the blue van said were so interesting
The guy in the blue van confirmed what I believed to be the case. I never trust the MSM. And I always trust the government to mess things up.
It's a Big NO NO
You ignorant piloc
That guy in the van was well sound
That completely illegal under the Because of Something Act.
More videos like these please D.J. would be great if you can highlight the problems of raw sewage being dumped illegally.
Quite educational. The first guy did a great job explaining how good the water quality is supplied by his company. Its what the boss should have done, but all in all they were ok.
The real workers always have a better understanding of things. 👍
We need to make the government take responsibility for allowing the disgusting water companies who have taken all the profits for years but have not dealt with leaks and have been pumping raw sewage in to our water courses, rivers, and lakes. Take them back in to public ownership and give no compensation to the thieves.
To fix all the issues would cost £168 Bn.
If the government had to pay that it would be an extra 80 pence in the pound on income tax if done in a single year.
Affinity water is a clean drinking water company and does not have any sewage works.
Keep shining a light DJ
I love how this channel is showing the middle class working person & how some of them have interesting jobs / are passionate about their job.
Great comments from that informative water tester .
That's either a new van or they keep their vehicles spotless 😊
Only they are allowed to do unauthorised discharge… into our rivers! 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Egham water treatment works is a clean drinking water site (not sewage). No waste is discharged back into the river. Get your facts right.
You ask good questions DJ - that makes it interesting!
How many times did these guys say it was a CNI site like that is supposed to mean anything haha!
Excellent work, well handled. Very entertaining work from DJ AUDITS - bravo !
Blu Van guy deserved a keyring .. Great information about something we all take for granted - Clean Water
Your wobbly gimbal is caused by the invisible electro-magnetic dome emitted from the site's battlefield radar system when it detects aerial threats ... or maybe it's windy up there.
Never been so early to a vid before and I have no idea what to say... 😂
Love all your vids!
The tailgating sign is not in reference to accidents. It is to maintain one vehicle thru the gate at a time. A second one is not to piggy back the first one.
Yawn.
@noelward8047 take a nap, you sound sleepy
Another good video DJ. Let’s hope sites like these don’t become Geofenced if/when the new rules come into play in a couple of years.
By the way, my mini 3 pro had the shakes like that once. Calibrating the gimbal didn’t help.. but changing the props did 👍
The area west of Heathrow is a WATER TREATMENT site with huge reservoirs for storage after going through primary treatment. There's another one near Alexandia Palace or was as a friend worked there back in the 60s.
Sewage treatment is done at Beckton in East London near Royal Docks Rd.
Water-way to audit DJ. Keep them flowing!!!
They always crumble at the slightest question 😂
Flocculant tanks where chemicals are added to the water to make the solids (particles and mocroscopics) fall out of it.
Normally Im only interested in the interactions but this one I was genuinely fascinated by the plant and what they do
Nice vid
I learned something new 😄
Dude in the blue van was refreshingly nice to listen to. Great convo both
"The boss is here now!!!" 😂😂😂😂 who's boss??? Not djs
😂😂💯
whose* boss, not "who is".
@@thekeysman6760 oh yeah. 👍 ill leave it tho. 😃
@@mikej557 Fair enough. It doesn't translate into anything other than nonsense for a non native English speaker using the translate function though. Do you have race issues? 😉
@@thekeysman6760 I was thinking your comment would be pointless if I edited mine.
Surely these un native folk you speak of could use their Google translate to read the whole thread and they would be properly informed.
I'll be honest I've been using who's instead of whose for years.
I'm glad you pulled me up on it.
Affinity Water man Audits the people near water ... I think he is a stand up guy doing great work for water as you do for the photon collectors
I had a gimble shake just like this, I replaced the props and it cured it, I think the slightest damage to a prop can put it out of balance.
I tried that but the gimbal shake was still occuring once the drone had landed at some points. Very intermittent and no time to be without a drone so a few days later I purchased the DJI MINI 4 Pro (which you will have seen in the Film Set video). I am always keen to get the latest model but always wait for a reason. 👍💚💚💚
Spitfies had that trouble
Nice to see you down south, check out the shinfield film studios being built. Signs up everywhere saying no drones. They try and fail to enforce it 👍😁
Here in the states, my state has a whole list of places you can’t fly a drone. They’re largely critical infrastructure locations. And then there’s a big fat exception list after that list of locations that says if you have a commercial license (required for anything but recreational flying), you’re good to go. I’m sure I’ll have a similar interaction at some point.
The first Affinity guy was really interesting to listen to
I delivered those green pipes to Egham and many more water treatment sites many years ago from their manufacture & coating point in the west midlands.
I've just designated my garden shed a CNI site. I hope no helicopters with cameras fly over it. However, I'm not going to shit in the ditch at the bottom of my garden, so if a helicpted does come to film my CNI, they're not going to see anything dodgy being done.
Far as I'm concerned, I give you my full consent to film my jobbies as/if they flow into the Thames. I had no idea, my jobbies might be targeted by terrorists. They usually target popular events, lots of unsuspecting people around for maximum impact.
It’s a clean drinking water treatment works, not a sewage works.
Big up the staines massive, aye!
the big NO NO law passed in parliament 2023 😂😂😂
post covid-19 everyone has become more of a Karen, can't do this, can't do that. Can't see our precious water treatment place 🙄
No everyone, just the sheeple who fell for that nonsense.
@@telx2010 The vast majority did, sadly.
@markosmith8037 No, since 9/11/01, kiddo.
It’s CNI. CNI. “what is CNI?”. I don’t know 😂
They seem to be confusing it being a "big no no," with it being illegal.
Good bloke, the first one.
fair play to that water tested/van driver,
Djj timeeee

What a nice chap.
Congratulations on hitting 140k subscribers. Keep up the good work ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Blue van guy was amazing!
Credit to his company,
Properly fascinating!
What A Nob Head 🤣😂😅Go DJ !!👍🤙👍Love your job! make it Kick off 👍bit jealous 😪
Interesting point of view by the Water Treatment employees
hope you sorted the gimbal problem.. if not check the rubber gimbsl dampers have not come un seated
I dunno about CNI, but word is CSI were down there a few hours ago. They found the keyring, using it as evidence!
@0:49 Sometime you make me wonder - funny because you are not 6 years old. The 'no tailgating' has nothing to do with collisions, it is so people don't sneak in when the barrier is let up (or gates are opened) for the vehicle in front to come in. What an interesting video - I did not know water is taken from the Thames and cleaned.... I wonder how many other knew this?
Looks like your drone needs a new gimbal motor, they are about £15 plus fitting charges, great video DJ 👍👍
Nice bloke in the blue van 👍
You’ve got some crap in the gimbal somewhere. Gave mine a blow out with compressed air. Sorted. Van driver was great. Other bids ok. Can tell you’ve done this a lot. Nice one DJ.
DJ. Discharge.. Protest and Survive. 🎸🎸🎸🎸
The stuff these people make up lol 😂😂😂 well done dj
check your blades as well DJ
get them DJ LOL
First bloke was alright 👍
The three tanks you thought were to do with sewage are actually filtration tanks the arms move around spraying water on the top of the filtration medium
7:27 I laughed at the Chewbacca noise he made. I don't mean it bad, the guy was saying some really interesting information about his job! Well done!
“CNI” site doesn’t exist, legally, as far as I’m aware
Just to clarify for anyone who missed it: it's a CNI site, it's a big no no.
Haha, get back to work Chrish and wind your neck in
You can put it RUclips! I love how they make up their own laws!
Hi DJ, is a 'You Toober' different from a You Tuber?
W for the van guy
The guys a legend at the start 8
The guy in blue van is sound
The guy goes on and on how it isn't allowed and CNI this and CNI that "I don't know the law but my boss does I can get him over"...boss comes over and lets you carry on. Look at the guys face when the boss says carry on!
It is funny that the chap mentions they are worried about the Forever materials PFAS, which is includened in the paper straws bonding materials that they have replaced paperstraws with..
If they "clean" the river water of contaminants, what do they do with those contaminants?
This Secruity guard should become a MP telling lies to a member of the public and don't know the drome laws
Would never work…our MPs are even worse than him
Not sure he told any lies. He said he didn't no the law.
Great video!👍⭐⭐⭐
The South West Suburban Water Co first appears on the 1897 OS map and next door at the Tesla Collection car park was the gas works storage dating to mid 1800s to late 1900s. Was also known as Staines & Egham Water Works and street view show it operated under the names Three Valley >> Veolia >> Affinity >> Affinity/IW.
The Flow 1 Building in a previous video is on the site of the Egham & Staines Electricity Co works constructed before 1912 and simply noted as Works on later maps. Early 1900s is when housing expanded east from the village of Egham on the south side of the Thames. Along Causeway/A308 to the east is the large roundabout connecting to Staines Bridge. Construction f the new roundabout is visible in an April 1948 aerial photo. The gas works and electricity works were later replaced by 3 storey office buildings and later demolished.
0:40 Building is of the concrete brutalist design from the 60s. 😊
The fear and respect he has for his boss is hilarious - why does he think you will share those feelings? “I’m going to get my boss. My boss is coming.” Mate he is literally just another random bloke to us, him being your boss means nothing to a member of the public.
My " BOSS " gave me orders to do the Hoovering today , I said yes dear , and troughed my forelock !
Thames valley water Discharge is between bourne end Marlow!!
You’d think that they would let you know if it was a cni site,😬
The DJ is "definitely not a terrorist"! But he "definitely is a" first rate" auditor!!😊
Thames water publish an online map of discharge sites updated to show which are discharging sewage.
I can see it now …..in 1000 years archeologists will find DJ Audits key rings all over middle England and be totally puzzled 😂😂
I was looking for the cni dogs 😊
As mentioned before I keep a bucket in my room as it saves me having to go down stairs in the night. I used to use an old saucepan, however unfortunately one night a few years back it rusted through and leaked all over the carpet. The saucepan was handy as it doubled up as an instrument to hit somone over the head with if I ever got burgled in the night.
Lucy
I’ve worked at several water reservoirs around the British isles in the past, seen loads of these guys turn up to take water samples to do their tests. Great bunch of people 👏
Loads of people with the gimbal problem on the Mini 3 pro, sadly it’s a DJI fix but now you’ve got the 4 you’ll be ok
Seems like David had a wee dram or two of Glen-drone-ach!
cool
Pump up the Jam , pump it up!
At least they were polite.
