Thank you for posting this video my only questions were how long do you put it on a plate and how hi do you set but I used a butane heat blower and got it apart successfully without damaging the LCD the glue was the hardest part again thank you so much

Thanks for the vid! I fixed it! I would like to add that be sure to REMOVE THE SD CARD ! I stupidly left it in, and when I put it back together, was messing the alignment up of the usb port! Was a pita to take it apart and remove the sd card. Also I think a hair drierr would work well to heat up the adhesive for glass removal. I cut it off cold, got tiny pieces of glass everywhere! Anyways thanks again!

So, I replaced the screen, the display works, but now the touchscreen part only works on the lower half of the screen. What should I do to try and fix this? I hope I did not screw up the tablet too much...

@@10-eproductions25 Ok you need to review over everything. If all is good, then the part is defective. Otherwise you may have done something like physical damage to the motherboard.
Everything else works. I can use a mouse or the touch pad on the keyboard and it works. Did a scan and everything checks out...

So I watched this video before I even tried to attempt buying the part for my screen. It's not broken and works fine but the colors on it are all disoriented. I am going to fix it tomorrow as I got my screen and stuff today. So wish me luck! I'll post after I attempt to fix it and see if that was the issue
Well I think the screen I bought was a bit off on where they put their border because everything else is fine. So no big complaints worked great and even though my screen didnt come off as smoothly as yours (Since I dont have a hot plate) it was hard and even a bit fun to fix.

I love repairing tablets as a little hobby. It is fun. Do you think I should clear the cache first before attempting to take the back off again?

I'm such a ball of nerves. I called a local repair place and they literally want more for the repair than we paid for the tablet itself. I'm totally petrified I'm going to do this wrong. Just reconnect the cable and you are good to go. Do both ends.

If all you have is a hair dryer then that will have to do. Set on high and go for it.

Just buy a cellphone repair tool kit. I used the mix of 2 of them that I used to repair a friends iPhone.

My dog cracked my screen on an rca galileo pro, thing is once I removed the screen I realized that not both screens were cracked. I have stuff I haven't backed up is there anyway to recover my data or even switch the hard-drive if I were to buy a new replacement. Thanks.
Unfortunately you cannot just switch out the hard drive it is soldered directly to the logic board. The cheapest way to recover your data is to replace the touch screen. Assuming the LCD is not damaged. Be sure to verify your model number before buying. I don't know your exact model number but here is a link for example. amzn.to/2qNVbhg

I keep trying to get the part right by where the keyboard attaches to come off but it won't. Everything else is off except that. What am I doing wrong?
Just leave it in place and disconnect the cable from the motherboard.

I believe there is a clear thin plastic film I saw a guy remove before he put the cover back.

I have the RCA Galileo Pro, and when I turn it on, there are just lines on the screen. How can I fix this?
that means it is broken on the inside you cant fix that
You will have to replace the LCD too.
Or you can just go get a HDMI port plug it in your computer and then put it monitor and their you go.
Thanks for the replies. I did connect the tablet to my computer monitor with a mini HDMI to regular HDMI cable, and it displayed properly on the monitor, so I guess it's a problem with just the screen, and not with the tablet's video circuitry. It's easy to find replacement touch screens for the Galileo tablet online, but I haven't been able to find a source for the LCD screen.
Not true. I have a viking pro like the one in the video (but a different model a bit) and my niece dropped it, blitzing white lines were all it showed. All i did was unscrew, take off back, take out and put back in the ribbons refastening them down, wah-LA, fixed.
I came to this video to make sure when I take off the back there wasn't anything I needed to detach or watch out for like on an iPhone.

Wish I would have watched this tutorial before I bought a LCD + Digitizer combo... I just assumed the touchscreen digitizer was adhered to the LCD display, like how it is on let's say an iPhone or something. Didn't help that in the description of the item it said: "LCD Preattached ,Touch Digitizer easier to replace item"
Could have saved myself about $40... Anyone want to buy an LCD display? 😁

I just ordered a new digitizer by itself, and if the installation goes smoothly, think I'm gonna return the combo set. I don't have a heat gun or hot plate, so that might be a problem.
Thought about keeping the set just in case the display craps out in the future, but the set cost $50 and a brand new tablet with the keyboard and everything, only cost $70 now! So, seems kinda like a waste.
The main thing to watch out for is over heating the LCD. Too much heat will leave a burn mark in the display. If your using a hair dryer it will take much longer to heat up so just be patient, take it slow and easy and try not to over heat the display. Oh and the touchscreen has thick glass beyond the plastic edges that can splinter and cut you.
