- a decaying home stands out in an otherwise unassuming community. The world on the outside is 2021, but the inside remains in the 1990's. Nothing but natural decay, this home sits completely idle whole nature takes it back, because of that this home is one of my favorites to explore. nothing excites me more than untouched homes, from vandals and destructive kids. With everything inside it's as if you're simply walking back in time, or in some post apocalyptic universe. The bedrooms are straight out of the 70s and 80s.....kids grew up, moved away, elderly parents died and no one came back to empty the house, happens quite a bit.....very sad.
Yes soon as I saw 1990s and then saw the opening video I was like that is not the 1990s 🤣🤭
If the kids moved out in the 80’s or 70’s it would make the parents for that time period more around the age of early 40’s to late 50’s. A little soon to die of old age. The decor is late 70’s to late 80’s. It’s kind of all over the place. Definitely was not updated past the 80’s it appears. I am guessing it was a foreclosure. The stuff around the house is a little confusing. It’s hard to tell exactly how old the family was when it was abandoned or the owners died. I would love to know who lived there as far as ages and genders.

My daughter used to do home inspections on foreclosed houses. I would go with her in case someone was in the house illegally. None were abandoned as long as this one but some were like this. Everything there, food in plates on the table, clothes, pictures, kids clothes and toys. It was very sad to see. This was really cool. I loved when you looked in the hand mirror and said "That's me." I'd be worried if it wasn't! LOL!
I did this as well with my daughter in MA. It could be really upsetting 💔

It would be sad to see people who just had to go and leave it or who were no longer here and nobody to help their final matters Their lives out on display for people that are no longer there. It would be surreal to see it in person.
Honestly this makes me emotional... I really wish we new what happened to them, what made them leave, and why no one cared to clean out the house. I appreciate you piecing together info on them based on what was in there. The birthday cards are what got me along with the stuffed animals and the unfinished paintings. Wherever that family is, I hope they are doing okay...
Did you see that the paper in the drawer was full of phone numbers for physicians? That makes me wonder if the little girl was sick.
@@briarrose29 you could be right didnt catch that! Honestly if I explored there it would take me a few days because I would be reading everything and trying to piece it together. It would be interesting to have contact them

Notice how one of the birthday cards said love mom and dad, then the newer one said love mom.
Oh God, I didn't noticed it. But that's so sad!
Maybe the dad died, and then the mother and children began to lose money because he was the worker and maybe they decided to leave because they felt such hurt because they have memories of him in that house and they promised each other to start a new life somewhere else and to never return and that would explain why there’s no car.
Definitely some HOARDING GOING ON...
@@Cricket28000 hoarding is a common sign of grief, the owner’s husband probably died & her children moved out so it makes sense.
Maybe the dad died or they got divorced.
Wow I am 34, born in '87, and it is intense to see how much a house full of memories could just decay away in my entire life span.
Really makes you wonder what happened to the occupants - *something* profound made them just pick up and leave without taking anything.

@@meli4061 could’ve been anything maybe one of the adults received a threat from someone, as ironic as that sounds it does happen in real life, or may have been something else like a gas leak or something in the home causing the family to evacuate. Idk just speculation
@@kickitup well, it's obvious that a hoarder lived there .... and my guess is that it was a woman .... so, when she passed, she probably lived alone and had no family members interested in cleaning the place up ....

People lived there, built this house with love, filled it with memories. Now it's only decay. It really saddens me to see that. Most scary thing for us humans is to be forgotten after our deaths. But I think this is the way the universe works.
Appears the family lost the home due to finances or business dealings. No one disappears and leaves their entire home contents suddenly. Very sad with children involved.

I really like how you take time to show vintage electronics (old tv's, console radios etc) in this explore. Don't see other explorers really notice and film it. Cool videos, keep it up.
The flashlights were probably from an open house. My guess is after the owners died the house sat for a while before the bank took it. When the bank tried to sell the house the electricity was already turned off so they provided flashlights so people could tour the house. Obviously it never sold.
Good explanation. I found that quite odd to have dozens of flashlights lined up on a TV.
Really? Must be a US thing, but either way if the only way they’d let me see a potential home was by flashlight I’d say “thanks, but no thanks!”

@@VioletSkye19 , not a US thing. This must have been a very odd circumstance. For some reason the power was turned off. They were probably trying to give it away as is and still no one bought in.

Could also have been squatters. Real estate can get the power turned back on fairly cheap to sell a home.

The saddest thing in my opinion is all the family photos that were left behind...
Guess it just goes to show, whatever we have in our homes whether it’s budget, sentimental, expensive etc, it’s just stuff. When you’re gone, however that happens, it all becomes just stuff.

Love the red and silver bathroom on the main floor! And all of the furniture in the sitting room was top of the line for its day!! The hanging lamp shade in the kitchen looks to be leaded stained glass. If so not cheap! The wallpaper throughout the main floor was very classy too. Fascinating find. I bet you could have spent hours and hours in that house!! Thanks for sharing it with me!! 😊

this explore was so cool, I bet the house was once beautiful, I wonder if everyone suddenly died in an accident and no one claimed the estate? It is wonderful such young people as yourselves can appreciate what was precious in the past

I abandoned my mom's condo years ago. But it was in a city location, and someone went in and gutted it and remodeled it entirely. There are reasons that children don't take on their parent's home. I have wondered if people who cleared out our family photos, etc. were curious about my mom's life, and such.

When I was a kid growing up in the 60's,we had a tv and tv stand exactly like the one in this video.
It was just a 13" B&W model that we had until 1968,when my dad got a 25 inch RCA color console.

Bill Nye didn't become the "Science Guy" until 1993. Pretty sure the box even has 1996 on it. Can't help but wonder if the flashlights were there for people who went out there to party/explore{?) after the house was abandoned. It's so crazy how much older abandoned houses have less destruction this house. It even looks okay on the outside! Looks like the house just cried itself to death.
Awesome find! I like the old style red Ouija board @18:00:00 . Amazing how this home is totally untouched and forgotten. The dresser drawer in the daughter's room had some neat stuff too. As always, I enjoy the serenity of your videos & editing skillz.
I appreciate that you begin with just respectfully silent establishing shots before you launch into the soft open. It turns it from entertainment to actual history. Was I the only one scanning the various rooms for signs of a struggle or bloodshed?
There is always the possibility they never upgraded their tech or decor but judging by the TV's and styling.it looks to me like the house was indeed vacated in the early to mid 80's. However, not completely abandoned till the late 90's, probably kept after, used as a business and/ or used for storage.
Especially with the Bill Nye tissue box. The show didn't air till 93'.
yeah seeing that book at 9:15 with a publication date of April 20,1993 I think it was probably closer to the mid 90s that they left
@@liberty6932 yes, there were also documents dated all the way till the late 90's. However, the personal items, cards, clothing, tvs, home décor would indicate earlier. Most likely the house was used as an office or storage till it was abandoned. IDK, thats just my theory.
That honestly makes sense. You would think if the guy was a lawyer or big business person they would have upgraded furniture more modern instead of 70s 80s style stuff. Especially with the piles and piles of clothes in bags and the stacks of news papers, a family member probably used it for storage. I like your theory!
@@madmaxxx01 yea, not always though. I had a friend whos house looked like it was from the early 80's well into the 90's. It all depends.
It’s sad to me that this home was just left to rot, it looks like it was probably a pretty nice house at one time. I will never wrap my head around the fact that people leave so many personal items behind in these abandoned places.
It's basically a ruin but I find it absolutely beautiful, must hold so much history 😌🖤

In the early 90’s, my husband and I bought a farmhouse and acreage where the younger brother (early 70’s) came and packed a suitcase and took his oldest brother with him back to Texas. EVERYTHING was left. Food in the cupboards, clothing, everything that had been in n the house since their Mother had passed away about 20 years or more before.
We cleaned everything out to prepare for the sale for them, and each item I looked at, I’d would think, now would a grandchild want this?
My husband and his Dad, who helped us a lot, were less discerning and tossed a lot I would have saved.
I found a handmade quilt that survived being washed in the machine, so I gave it to them to pass on to grandchildren. I would have loved to keep it, but…
I have a metal angel that was in a pile of junk. It had a broken foot, but it was special. I asked the brother we dealt with and he said toss it, so it’s hanging on my wall.
The house had been left with a window broken so squirrels and rats were living in the house. What was shocking was none of the food was eaten by the vermin.
We closed on the sale of our house before we could on this, so we rented it for a month and lived in it “as is” after emptying it and cleaning.
I’d have people who just heard about it look at me with sympathy and ask how we were doing. It was like we’d suffered a loss, with the sympathy we received living there. I said it was much like camping indoors. We had a bathroom and kitchen, but it was…rough.
We made it six months before we moved due to my sons’ allergies.
Watching these videos takes me back there.
This particular video, the place is definitely worse than our wreck.
Thank you for always being so respectful of the properties you choose to explore. So many ppl go in these places and go ape sh1t for absolutely no reason and/or steal stuff, but you leave everything as it was when you entered. Props to you and ur crew, my friend.

This was once a Beautiful home! Just look at the size of it! Wish you had picked up one of the 45s in the boys bedroom. It would’ve been interesting to see what music he was listening to. Love your work keep it up!
Looks to me like this house was probably abandoned in the early 2000's, not the 80's even though there's lots of pre-1990's documents laying around. That Kleenex box @13:28 is from the late 90's. It's got a website on it!
Definitely abandoned at the earliest 99 (the papers in the basement were from 99) and the latest maybe early 2000s. Depending on weather, the decay could've been sped up. The people living there would've been likely in their 70s around this time so it's possible that they simply passed with no relatives able to come empty the house. They had to have owned it because the bank wouldn't have let it fall to disrepair like that.

We don’t know what the family situation was...people always automatically assume the children were awful and abandoned their parents (and sometimes that is the case, sure) but there are many things that could have stopped the kids from caring about the parents stuff.
The kids could have died, they could have been disabled, they could have moved countries and not be able to get back, the parents might have done something horrible and the kids refused to see them.

Dark Exploration Films is one of the best who have mastered their craft at making such films ,You won't find this on the Discovery or History Channel ... Excellent work.
The thing is with pretty much any property is that it's really easy to find out about the owners of a property or lot of land. I literally researched these things as a job. If you have an address, you can find out and then from there it's just a matter of sleuthing and how much you want to know versus how much you want to spend. Most of the time, I found out enough for free. I like this channel a lot, but I can't help but kind of smile when I read all the comments wistfully speculating about the owners. If you knew where it was and how to go about it, you could find out when the place was built, what the floorplan is like, who owned it last, and next of kin pretty easy.
Exactly. I do this for work and fun too and it’s the only thing that irritates me about this channel. My theory is that he hides behind not telling who it is so that he doesn’t dox anyone but it’s a huge cop out. He wouldn’t have to tell us the address to at least tell us what happened. He’d rather encourage the mystery and drum up comments on his page. Comments are a huge part of YT creator’s channel popping up in algorithms. Any interaction is a boost. He put enough in here to figure it out (in my opinion) and I’m hoping to find out what happened on my own.
@@briarrose29 What you are saying is exactly right. Why let the truth ruin a good story though hey. It’s not hard to find out the history of houses these days. To me that would have been a much better story and to a majority of people watching. It’s seems like these guys just like the exploring side of things and not what is behind their finds. There should be a part two if you ask me.
I really wish you were wearing respirators. All that decay with likely lead paint and asbestos, along with mold spores, it could be dangerous.

The binder in the office said 1993, so it seems someone lived there through the early 90s. It does seem strange to find a home where no one seemed to come to collect sentimental items or to sell the house once the occupants no longer lived there. I hope whoever lived there felt loved until the end. ❤️

It resembles one, but Tiffany lamps were very expensive and regular people couldn’t afford them.

I’m amazed that some of that stuff is there. I usually am at one point or another in your videos find myself wondering why some of that stuff hasn’t been already picked through or already stolen after being left. I respect that you leave it there. It is someone’s property. Be it a bank, trustee or other owner. I have no problem with exploration of the places because I always have found abandoned homes interesting. I think it’s sad when people destroy or deface property or steal it in these places. I understand squatters in these places staying there and those that come and go and leave no trace I have no problem with. Everyone has to be somewhere.

I like the layout of the house. The office was for the husband and I bet the painting area was the wife. I had a b/w TV just like the one in the "boys" room. It definitely was a place to store things after he left. Hopefully it was a happy home.

Homeowner was an accountant, not lawyer probably. 1st floor office binder manual, "Business Valuations " written on it. Basement office docs examined were audited reports by Deloitte & Touche (big 5 accounting firm today).
Intriguing, cool and really sad, all in one....
This must have been a very nice home at one time, very spacious. Gotta watch out for those soggy floors, be safe.

First of all, in one of the rooms upstairs, there was a ouija board on the wall (17:56). Second of all, I looked up the name on the White House parter files (Deloitte and Touche) and it’s an accounting firm. As for all the flashlights, I think he was making and selling flashlights 🤣🤣 love this house frozen in time
What a find! American Pickers would have a field day with some of the vintage items still intact like those bicycles in the garage. So sad that so many artifacts are left to decay. It is as if the owners suddenly died and no one was there to claim anything despite there was evidence of children once living there...
It just begs the question: what happened to the family?
Whitehouse Capital/Partners went out of business in 2015. The business owner died in December of 2020 at the age of 95.
