I just stumbled across your channel and I loved watching your apartment hunt. You picked a great unit! I’ve lived in Seattle for 2 years and love my place but it’s fun to see what’s out there. I hope you’re loving it here! 😊
Maybe 10 years ago, but with climate change there are now many Seattle summer days that are extremely uncomfortable without AC, not to mention the summers where we get weeks of heavy and dangerous smoke from wild fires.
Also in Cap Hill (well, first hill I think). Closest I could get to downtown with staying in my budget. I’m only a 15 minute walk to the waterfront though so can’t beat that! (:
The rents you posted, do they include parking? I'm finding that a lot of Seattle apartments charge extra for parking. I'm moving to Seattle in a few weeks as well (also from LA).
Wow! The first unit is so nice, but Eastlake is a meh area in my opinion. Totally agree with your impression haha Eastlake is like a transplant neighborhood, you won’t find many locals that live there. Kind of like South Lake Union, but more affordable for the college aged residents.
I've been contemplating moving to America for a couple months/years after i graduate from university and so far i see seattle every where. Someone said Settle and i heard Seattle and now you post this😂 Funny you say the location of the first place lost points but it's exactly my kind of place
You are charming and made an interesting video. But as a lifelong PNW resident I do have to say it is depressing what real estate prices and inflation have done, every single place seemed like a cramped box for your budget, and I find that depressing!
I was surprised by how expensive these one bedroom units are! I just signed a lease for what I consider an affordable Capitol Hill apartment. $1700 for a 600 sq ft 1 bedroom with a great full size kitchen, large windows, and no carpet. The downsides are the lack of off street and on street parking and shared laundry in the building. But I don’t own a car and the unit is 3 blocks from the light rail station, so it was perfect to me. I jumped on this unit because every other unit in the area I liked went for closer to $1900.
That's insane that you were okay, in tiny seattle, to pay $2500 for 600 square feet. Now I understand the California effect all my coworkers and neighbors are complaining about. Insane.
We don't "not believe in it" --A/C, we don't really need it. I was born here, lived all my life here, and have never had it, house or apartment. Did you not do ANY research before you just up and moved here?
hey! I wanted to message you on Insta but couldn’t find you so I’ll just comment, but I just want to thank you for posting your youtube adsense video (in a year). I watched the whole thing on my tv this morning, and it really helped me think of RUclips as a long burn sort of platform. I’m a bigger creator on Instagram and Tiktok and blew up pretty fast, which means coming over to RUclips, I expected the same. I used to post about a year ago, and then stopped and just posted my podcast episodes on here, then in August, got monetized, and decided to start taking RUclips seriously again. Dang, that was long. Anyways THANKYOU for providing a realistic pov into what a normal creator can expect in terms of adsense, growth etc 💛
@@susannahfriesenofficial of course!! I’m so glad you found that video valuable. I loved creating it and will def be doing another one at the end of the year. Best of luck with your channel!

@@Claire-th7rs totally loving it so far!
Your new apartment is soo cute! Definitely would love to see some seattle vlogs 🥰
You only need ac for like a week or 2 so most apartments don’t have it.

We home hunted outside of the city but I love all of these apartments you looked at!!
Great video!!! Love the one you picked and the decor! ❤❤

Welcome! Glad you two found something you like. I live on top of Capitol Hill, being able to walk to everything is a huge reason I'm still here
