Lmfao, although I'm pretty sure they dislike it because the stats it had in CH4 were absurd not because it was ahistorical EDIT : Yeah it was just flatout better than the shuttle's RS-25 with twice the TWR and better ISP
CH-4s devs admitted it too, the NK-15VM is just flat out impossible to build, especially in 1960s Russia where the main engineers thought Hydrolox was stupid and pointless
Chill vibes? *Check.* Cool launch vehicles? *Check.* Classic Soviet Station Spam? *Check.* Mili and Konstantin officially being the first to develop "Space Maddness?" *Double check.* Glad they made it back alive. You're welcome for not scrambling any KR-71s to intercept. 👀
That beautiful speck, so prominent in the evening sky. A bright shining spot luring explorers beyond their doom. Frozen in time by distance, but always still out there, waiting for someone brave or stupid enough to defeat the odds, reach out and touch it. But for all that hardship, the endless void of space, and the limits of technology, reaching out and taking hold of it isn't the hard part. It's letting go.
Fun fact: at 35 tons Krasnyy-3 is MASSIVE. It's 50% more massive then the Artemis I Orion spacecraft, and it's 6 times heavier then Europa Clipper, which is the record holder heaviest interplanetary probe. It's definitely a big boi.
It might be the last time I am going to space, but representing the workers of the world in visiting another planet for the first time was worth it. Za Rodinu!
When you realize the time it took between the release of the videos of the Rogatka launch and return is almost the same as the time the mission would have taken without timewarp💀
What an impactful mission. Over a year and they have returned from venus safe and sound. Not publicly but technically biggest achievement than landing on moon imo. And Milli would receive the medal of "Hero of the Labour of the Republic of Cuba" for in recognition of extraordinary merits achieved in productive labour or in struggles for conquests and in defense of the achievements and interests of the working class, as well as for consistent practice and valuable contributions to proletarian internationalism.
4:05 he is a pride of at least a single citizen already. Greatings from poland And yes you did butcher Mirosław Hermaszewski, Also as a note Dr. Sławosz Uznański (who is called by his first name by everyone) if flying to the iss on ax-4. This will be the second real polish astronout.
If i had started watching this when ingame time it was 1940 to 1956, I would have done whatever was needed for a kerbal from the Karelo-Finnish Soviet Socialist Republic to fly. This series is really cool and inspires me to do more things in KSP.
My God, what an episode. With each and every single one, I'm falling even more in love with this series - one of the best I ahve ever seen, not just on RUclips. Absolutely wonderful.
It would be cool if Rogatka inspired a surge of interest in studying mental health and treating ptsd, and popularized psychedelic therapy super early in this timeline.
Hell yeah! Onwards Zenon to your cosmic adventures! And congratulations Milli and Konstantin for completing your mission! What a wild ride Rogatka has been.
I bet in like the 1980's old konstantin returns to Venus in some capacity to live the rest of his life there on some space station, or venus base even? O_O
I sure hope the next mission isn't a crewed Jupiter flyby (no treadmill). Also, you did indeed butcher Mirosław Hermaszewski. But don't worry, Polish people sometimes have trouble pronouncing their names too!
The engines used on the N-2 have me wondering if a variation on the UR-700 concept using the RD-116s in place of the RD-270s (and the NK-15VMs in place of the hypergolic/kerolox upper stage engines) might not be a more efficient option. If nothing else, I'm fairly sure that was something that was considered (as part of a hail Mary effort by Chelomei to keep the UR-700 from being canceled).
It's over. It's done. They're home now, they're safe. Why did I worry so much about the Rogatka crew? Also I'm not sure if their journey took more time in-game or in real life.
I feel like a dice should be rolled when ever you land in the Indian Atlantic or Pacific Ocean that either the royal navy or the American navy recovers the crew
Oh my God, you noticed me, I honestly didn’t expect this and I’m very happy to tell you that you really have a lot of fans all over the world and thank you for this gorgeous series that I’ve been following for three years now
This is kinda where my game knowledge drops off; packing all those capabilities into such a complex probe is rather beyond me still Edit: Wait what's the 'proper' way to play realism overhaul if not this?
They don't really seem to have a schedule for this series. N9 told me that "Our upload schedule is representative of our collective free time and energy bandwidth, that's all! Plenty more episodes this year if things go well :)" So it may be a few days, next week, or 8 months away. If it makes you feel better, we've already had the same number of episodes this year as we did last year, so I'm counting that as a win.
Delicious NK-15VM, glory to the engine that can power an entire city with the steam coming out of rp1 devs ears upon seeing it

And may your demons forever lay in that metal cone, your mission has ended.
I hope some of the funds you got from completing the Venus mission goes towards the extensive therapy both the Cosmonauts will need lmao.

The soviets must be really advanced to have laptops in the year 1966!

That was glorious. Can't imagine what the Rogatka crew had to go through.

I loved the portal-style music of the N-2 launch!
That’s from Dyson Sphere Program and the soundtrack in that game really is top notch, I use it in KSP all the time.
