I see a lot of people tearing their hand skin on the kettlebell snatch and clean drop hopefully this video can help you choose which will work best for you on how you drop the kettlebell into the backswing.
Another way to decrease possibilities of hand tears is to do a half snatch which is dropping the kettlebell down to the rack position before you do your back swing

Thanks for this! I've started training with kettlebells this year and thought that getting my hands torn up was just a part of this kind of training that i needed to push through.

Well I'm glad you found this video personally I'm a coach that doesn't adhere to those types of ideologies My thing is if you get injured or even tear your skin blister that's less training that you can do you'll have to take time until those areas heal so I like to teach ways to make sure that that doesn't happen let me know what else you're looking for and I'll try to make some videos meanwhile check out www.kbmuscle.com

learning to drop the bell efficiently has been one of the game changing moments for me. One mental cue I used was "brush the handle with the palm", tracing my palm lightly during the drop.

This helps tremendously. My KB journey began with “hardstyle” and anything outside that mold was deemed unworthy. I’m so glad I finally stepped outside the box when it comes to stuff like this. Turning my thumb forwards on certain movements was the biggest game changer for me. “Why the F am I just now realizing this?” Was my immediate reaction. You hit the nail on the head with separating certification training and moving efficiently for your goals. Thanks for sharing.

This is perfect timing. I recorded myself performing snatches and noticed I drop it right in front and it throws my body forward! Thanks Joe!

Interesting that you posted this just now. Was talking to my trainer how on the r.h. Side I do the classic snatch but on the left I tend to do just as you demonstrated. Had a Rotator cuff injury several years ago and I think that I developed this style to “protect” my shoulder. Nevertheless it’s a matter of moving the bell as easily as possible. My trainer likes to do alternative snatches and collect the bell on the downward swing between the legs to change sides. I dont like it much as I feel that I dont have the correct control any longer to get the bell into the correct spot on my hand for the next snatch …..😟

What about the lifting of the kb?
I do a similar movement when I lift it up, with the lateral rotation rather than a rotation on top

I've made about 20 of those vids over the years . Everything is just in reverse ! Absolutely lateral.
